OBJECTIVES IN INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT STUDIES To understand past and present approaches in international development To undertstand the (changing) role of different actors involved in development Provide students a knowledge base to critically and independently assess issues in the current development debates, and those that are inter-related to processes of globalisation. Provide in-depth knowledge on some specific issue areas within development studies (via electives). Provide a knowledge-base for further studies in this field.
