2 Voorwoord Met veel plezier geef ik u een blik in de onderneming die mijn grootvader, vader en oom in 1942 begonnen zijn. Onze doelstelling is om - vanuit de behoeften van de eindgebruiker - maximale toegevoegde waarde te leveren. 3 Preface I am delighted to offer you an insight into the company that was established in 1942 by my grandfather, father and uncle. Our objective is to supply maximum added value, whilst continuing to meet the needs of the end user. To realize this, we utilize our strengths on a daily basis: quality, systemthinking, innovation, reliability, know-how and service. We believe in the power of partnership and make this the underlying principle in all our activities. 4 Sinds 1942 De Walraven Group is voortgekomen uit Metaalwarenfabriek J. van Walraven B.V., een familiebedrijf dat in 1942 in Mijdrecht (NL) is opgericht. Oprichter Jan van Walraven, grootvader van de huidige algemeen directeur, was oorspronkelijk loodgieter. Door een gebrek aan pijpbeugels in de jaren na de 2e Wereldoorlog, zag hij zich gedwongen om zelf zijn beugels te gaan maken. Vandaag de dag is het kleine familiebedrijf uitgegroeid tot een internationale onderneming met eigen productie- en verkoopvestigingen in diverse landen. 5 Since 1942 The Walraven Group originated from Metalwork company, J. van Walraven B.V., a family business which was established in 1942 in Mijdrecht (NL). Jan van Walraven, the founder and grandfather of the current group managing director, was originally a plumber. Due to a shortage of pipe fittings in the years after World War II, he was forced to make his own fittings. Today, the small family enterprise has developed into an international company with its own production and sales companies in various countries. 9 Our system philosophy Our range has been incorporated into 3 systems: Fittings for heating systems, sanitary installations, sprinkler pipes, air ducts, cooling pipes, electricity cables, cable trunking and a lot more. Solutions for fire-resistant and smoke-tight sealing of pipe apertures, expansion joints and openings in suspended ceilings. Plus fire-rated pipe and cable support systems. Frames for securing wall hung WC s, urinals and wash basins. Plus McAlpine Siphons for various sanitaryware applications.

10 BIS Bevestigingssystemen Dit systeem omvat bevestigingsproducten voor werktuigbouwkundige en elektrotechnische installaties, zoals: BISMAT, BISOFIX, BIS Bifix en starquick Buisbevestigingssystemen BIS RapidRail en BIS RapidStrut Railmontagesystemen BISCLIPS Elektrobevestigingssysteem Kwaliteit Onze producten voldoen aan hoge kwaliteitseisen en zijn veelal gecertificeerd door internationale instituten, zoals: Safe Connection Walraven is één van de initiatiefnemers van de Gütegemeinschaft Rohrbefestigung (Safe Connection). Binnen dit verband zijn door de belangrijkste producenten van buisbevestigingssystemen eenduidige richtlijnen en testprocedures opgesteld. Hierdoor worden technische eigenschappen van buisbevestigingsproducten, zoals de maximaal toelaatbare belasting, inzichtelijker en beter vergelijkbaar. De Gütegemeinschaft Rohrbefestigung is in 2003 erkend door RAL, het Duitse instituut voor kwaliteitsborging.

11 BIS Fixing Systems This system contains products for plumbing, mechanical services and electrotechnical installations, such as: BISMAT, BISOFIX, BIS Bifix and starquick Pipe fixing systems BIS RapidRail and BIS RapidStrut Rail fixing systems BISCLIPS Electro-fixing system Quality Our products meet the highest quality standards and are approved by many international institutes, such as: Safe Connection Walraven is one of the founding members of the Gütegemeinschaft Rohrbefestigung (Safe Connection). This association, consisting of the most important producers of pipe fixing systems, has established clear guidelines and testing procedures. This makes it easier to compare the technical properties, such as the maximum permissible load, of pipe fixing products. The Gütegemeinschaft Rohrbefestigung was acknowledged in 2003 by RAL, the German institute for quality care.

12 BIS Brandbeschermingssystemen Dit systeem bestaat uit oplossingen voor passieve brandbescherming van werktuigbouwkundige en elektrotechnische installaties. In dit systeem biedt Walraven BIS Pacifyre en Tangit producten voor het rookdicht, brandwerend en geluidsisolerend afdichten van: buis- en kabeldoorvoeringen dilatatievoegen, bouwnaden en holle ruimtes openingen in verlaagde plafonds boven vluchtwegen Alsmede: diverse op brandveiligheid geteste bevestigingsproducten Kwaliteit Onze brandbeschermingsproducten voldoen aan internationale kwaliteitseisen en zijn veelal goedgekeurd door Europose certificerende instanties. In this system Walraven offers BIS Pacifyre and Tangit products for smoke-tight, fire resistant and noise-insulating seals for: pipe and cable apertures expansion joints, construction seals and hollow spaces openings and suspended ceilings above emergency exits As well as: various fire-rated fixing products Quality Our fire protection products meet the highest international quality standards and are approved by many European certification institutes. McAlpine In the Benelux countries, Walraven is also the exclusive distributor of McAlpine Siphons and sanitary drainage systems. A brand which stands for durability and reliability.

16 Innovatie en kwaliteit Innovatie Het ontwikkelen van nieuwe en nóg betere producten vinden wij belangrijk. De behoeften van onze afnemers staan daarbij centraal. Denk daarbij aan meer gemak en tijdbesparing bij het monteren én een optimale betrouwbaarheid in het functioneren. Een groot aantal innovaties en patenten zijn het gevolg. Onze innovaties beperken zich niet alleen tot productontwikkeling, maar ook in de wijze waarop wij de markt benaderen. Bijna al onze stempels en matrijzen worden in de eigen gereedschapsmakerij gemaakt. Hierdoor heeft Walraven het gehele proces van productontwikkeling tot fabricage geheel in eigen hand en kan snel en adequaat ingespeeld worden op ontwikkelingen in de markt. Wij ontwikkelen en produceren ook klantspecifieke of projectgebonden producten. Ook zijn veel van onze standaardproducten leverbaar in een bijzondere maatvoering of speciale oppervlaktebehandeling. Kwaliteit In onze organisatie wordt gewerkt volgens ISO 9001:2000. Hiermee wordt het continu streven naar verbetering van de bedrijfsprocessen en daarmee de kwaliteit van onze gehele organisatie gewaarborgd. Productie De Walraven Group beschikt in diverse landen over productiefaciliteiten met moderne, vaak in eigen beheer ontwikkelde machines. Elke productievestiging heeft zijn eigen specialiteit, zodat elk product op de meest efficiënte wijze geproduceerd wordt.

17 Innovation and quality Innovation The development of new products is always our priority. With our primary focus being on customer satisfaction. Think of comfort, time-saving during assembly and the highest degree of reliability when operational. A large number of innovations and patents is the result. Our innovation is not just limited to product development. Also our marketing is pushing the boundaries. We develop and produce customer-specific or project-related products too. In addition, many of our standard products can be supplied in a special size or with a special surface treatment. Quality Our organisation is ISO 9001:2000 certificated. This way we continuously improve operational processes, and thus the quality of the entire organisation. Production The Walraven Group has production facilities in various countries, with modern machines which are often designed in-house. Each production company has its own speciality so that products can be manufactured in the most efficient manner. Almost all of our tooling and moulds are produced in our own tool making facility. Walraven then manages the entire process - from product development to manufacture - and can quickly respond to developments in the market.

18 Samenwerking als kracht Wij zijn trots op en voelen ons nauw verbonden met onze partnerbedrijven. Omefa B.V. Omefa in Nieuwkoop (NL) is al sinds 1975 onze partner bij het ontwikkelen en produceren van producten van kunststof. Volgens het principe van co-makership zijn door de jaren heen vele spuitgietproducten op succesvolle wijze ontwikkeld. Groupe ARaymond Dit Franse bedrijf (ca medewerkers in 20 landen) is een belangrijke toeleverancier van de internationale automobielindustrie. De samenwerking heeft in 2006 vorm gekregen in de joint venture Raywal Holding SAS en betreft vooral productontwikkeling, alsmede verkoop en marketing in Frankrijk, Spanje en de Verenigde Staten van Amerika. Loko B.V. Het elektrolytisch verzinkbedrijf Loko in Gramsbergen (NL) beschikt over computergestuurde hang- en trommelverzinkstraten. De zinklijnen van Loko behoren tot de meest milieuvriendelijke van Europa. Loko is ISO 9001: 2000 gecertificeerd en maakt sinds 1991 deel uit van de Walraven Group. SWO Tooling s.r.o. Deze in 2007 opgerichte joint venture is opgezet door Suchanek (een productiebedrijf van Walraven in Tsjechië), het spuitgietbedrijf Omefa uit Nieuwkoop (NL) en Walraven. SWO maakt stempels en spuitgietmatrijzen zowel voor eigen gebruik als voor derden. Henkel KGaA Het Duitse familieconcern Henkel (ca medewerkers) is wereldwijd actief in wasmiddelen, cosmetica, kleefstoffen en afdichtingsproducten. Sinds 2006 werken Henkel en Walraven intensief samen bij de ontwikkeling, verkoop en marketing van Tangit en BIS Brandbeschermingssystemen. McAlpine & Co. Ltd. Opgericht in 1902 en in1957 de eerste fabrikant van kunststofsifons in het Verenigd Koninkrijk. Vandaag de dag is dit Schotse familiebedrijf wereldwijd één van de grootste op het gebied van sifons en toebehoren. De samenwerking dateert van 1969 en betreft de verkoop en marketing van sifons, alsmede het ontwikkelen van condenswatersifons voor CV-ketels.

19 Co-operation as strength We are proud of, and have close ties with, our partner companies. Omefa B.V. Omefa in Nieuwkoop (NL) has been our partner since 1975 for the development and production of plastic products. Over the years many injection moulded products have been developed using the co-production principle. Groupe ARaymond This French company (approx employees in 20 countries) is an important supplier to the international automobile industry. This partnership took shape in 2006, in the form of the Raywal Holding SAS joint venture, and primarily relates to product development, sales and marketing in France, Spain and the United States of America. Loko B.V. The zinc plating company Loko, in Gramsbergen (NL), has state of the art zinc plating facilities. Loko s galvanisation lines are amongst the most environmentally friendly in Europe. Loko is ISO 9001: 2000-certified and has been part of the Walraven Group since SWO Tooling s.r.o. This joint venture was established in 2007 by Suchanek (one of Walraven s production companies in the Czech Republic), injection moulding company Omefa (Nieuwkoop, NL) and Walraven. SWO manufactures tooling and injection moulds for both our own and third party use. Henkel KGaA The German family owned company Henkel (approx employees) is active worldwide in the field of detergents, cosmetics, adhesives and sealing products. Since 2006 Henkel and Walraven have been working together intensively in the development, sales and marketing of Tangit and BIS Fire protection systems. McAlpine & Co. Ltd. Established in 1902, this company became the first producer of plastic siphons (during 1958) in the United Kingdom. Today this Scottish family business is one of the major worldwide players in the field of siphons and accessories. The partnership dates back to 1969 and relates to the sales and marketing of siphons as well as the development of condensate siphons for central heating boilers.

20 Onze markt De Walraven Group heeft in de afgelopen 10 jaar een stormachtige groei doorgemaakt. Nieuwe producten, nieuwe markten en nieuwe vestigingen volgden elkaar in hoog tempo op. Met de nieuwe vestiging in de Verenigde Staten en de zich steeds verder uitbreidende exportactiviteiten, timmert Walraven ook buiten Europa stevig aan de weg. Voor het distribueren van haar producten, maakt Walraven gebruik van een fijnmazig netwerk van groothandelaren. Hierdoor zijn onze producten altijd dichtbij en op het juiste moment beschikbaar. In het groothandelskanaal heeft Walraven een ijzersterke marktpositie, met name in Europa! Walraven-producten worden gebruikt door vele duizenden installatiebedrijven in Europa, maar ook in het Midden-Oosten, Azië, Australië en Noord-Amerika. Onze producten worden toegepast in vele woning- en utiliteitsbouwprojecten, alsmede in offshore, scheepsbouw, industriële en infrastructurele bouwprojecten. Onze markt in:

With the new sales company in the United States and the ever expanding export activities, Walraven is also well on its way outside Europe. To distribute its products, Walraven uses a finely integrated network of wholesalers. Our products are therefore always available close at hand and at the right time.
