3 Voorwoord/Prologue Craig Montvidas 3 Against all odds Dear softball fans, One of the things that motivates me most is hearing stories about people accomplishing amazing feats against all odds, when other people told them beforehand that they would not succeed! The Organizers of this World Championship were laughed at when they turned in their bid to host this prestigious tournament several years ago. No one is laughing at them now. On behalf of myself as Head Coach of Team Netherlands, my staff and players and of course the KNBSB, thank you Peter van der Aart (President World Championship Organizing Committee) and your staff, including all the volunteers who have made this dream a reality. Congratulations on accomplishing your goal when others said it could not be done. Thank you for bringing the World Championship to the Netherlands! How cool is it for me to be coaching Team Netherlands in the opening game against my homeland Team USA, with my family from the States attending the tournament? Very cool! I m looking forward to the challenges ahead, as is our team. Almost six years after the last Olympic softball games, I was approached by the KNBSB and asked if I was interested in becoming the new Head Coach for the National Team. After twenty three years of working at Holland s most prestigious news station (NOS Journaal) full time trying to combine softball part time, I decided to follow my heart and choose the game which I have such a passion for. Looking back, I know I made the right decision. During the last six years I ve had the opportunity to meet many new people, travel around the world, and work with an outstanding and dedicated staff. The icing on the cake has been the opportunity of coaching a very special group of female athletes. These athletes are the essence of what top sport should be about, committed to and passionate about the sport of Fastpitch Softball. They are excellent role models for the younger generation of female athletes who will one day take their place. It has been exciting to see this team advance forward in the Softball world rankings, continually since Now the biggest challenge is just ahead. People have asked me to predict just how well we will do during this tournament? Unfortunately I do not give much thought to predictions, I m more concerned about promises. Although I cannot predict how well we will do this week, I can promise that our team will continually give their full 100 percent effort every time they step on to the playing field. In the past six years we have been knocked down so many times by setbacks, both on and off the field, that I ve lost count. Most importantly, we ve gotten back up on our feet every single time and confronted every challenge that s come our way. The countries we are competing against are extremely talented and a ten day tournament will no doubt provide some surprises. As a team we have made the pledge together that when this tournament has concluded, we can look back and say that we did the best we possibly could in preparing for this moment, no excuses! We are prepared, we are excited, and we won t stop believing! In closing, please let me thank the family and friends of our team who have sacrificed and supported us during this journey. 5 Voorwoord/Prologue Bob Bergkamp 5 Op weg naar historie!? History in the making!? Het is zover. Na een uitgebreide voorbereidingsperiode gaat voor het Nederlands softbalteam eindelijk het WK van start op de velden van Olympia in Haarlem. Heel softballend Nederland kijkt uit naar dit toernooi. Uniek in Nederland, uniek in Europa. Maar we zijn vooral nieuwsgierig naar de prestaties van onze vrouwen. Want wat hebben ze er hard voor gewerkt. Ze hebben een geweldige inzet en doorzettingsvermogen getoond! Het was natuurlijk een koude douche toen we van NOC*NSF te horen kregen dat de sportkoepel, ondanks de door de Koninklijke Nederlandse Baseball en Softball Bond (KNBSB) gewonnen beroepsprocedure, maar mondjesmaat de prestaties en potentie van het Nederlandse softbal wilde erkennen. Met daarbij de extreme eis dat op het WK tenminste een plek bij de eerste vijfde gehaald moet worden, wil het team in de toekomst nog financiële steun ontvangen. Steun die onmisbaar is voor een topsportklimaat waarbinnen continu wordt gewerkt aan verbetering van prestaties en toekomstige talenten worden gevormd. Kenmerkend voor de staf en de speelsters van dit team is dat ze niet bij de pakken zijn gaan neerzitten, maar alles uit de kast hebben gehaald om het ongelijk van NOC*NSF aan te tonen. Intensieve trainingsstages en een groot aantal oefenwedstrijden, gecombineerd met een uitgekiende marketingstrategie, moeten er voor zorgen dat die vijfde plaats wordt veiliggesteld. Eén van de laatste acties voor de start van het WK was De Elf Steden Toer. Op tien plaatsen in het land zijn oefenwedstrijden gespeeld, clinics aan kinderen gegeven en waren er een meet-and-greets met speelsters en begeleidingsstaf. Een prachtige manier om het team in actie te zien, met de hoop dat steeds meer meisjes kiezen voor onze mooie sport, waarmee een basis voor toekomstig succes wordt gelegd. Gezien de intensieve wijze van voorbereiden en de manier waarop dit team echt als team presteert, heb ik er alle vertrouwen in dat we historie gaan schrijven. Veel succes! Bob Bergkamp Voorzitter KNBSB Mid August, finally the moment has arrived! The 2014 World Championship Softball is about to get started. This event will be hosted by Olympia, in the city of Haarlem. The entire Netherlands softball community has been looking forward to this tournament. Unique in the Netherlands, unique in Europe. Most of all, we are anticipating the performance from the ladies of our National Team. They have trained extremely hard and smart since last November, displaying both relentless effort and perseverance. It was a startling and unforeseen disappointment last year when NOC*NSF made known their reluctance to support Dutch Softball even after the Appeals Committee overturned this decision in favor of the Netherlands Baseball and Softball Federation (KNBSB.). The bar has been raised extremely high by the Olympic Committee as witnessed by the fact that the team must finish at least fifth during the Championship if financial support is to be continued in the immediate future. This financial support is necessary within such a top sport environment, especially if continued performance improvement and future talent is to be developed. Characteristic of this team is their ability to bounce back after any setback, a distinctive feature which they hope to employ in convincing NOC*NSF in regaining their support and faith! Combining intensive training sessions and competitive exhibition games, while employing their own marketing strategy, should be sufficient enough in securing the necessary 5th place finish. One of the teams last weapons prior to the start of the World Championship was the 11-city tour. The tour featured eleven games in eleven cities just prior to the start of the World Championship. Besides competitive games against strong opponents, the tour included meet-and-greet sessions. Players and staff promoted the game of softball with the hope of encouraging young girls to participate in this wonderful sport, building a foundation for continued success. Based on their intense preparation and the manner in which this team performs as a team, both on and off the field, I have complete confidence that history is in the making. Good luck! 6 6 World Championship Softball 2014 Official magazine Team Netherlands De strijd van het Nederlands softbalteam Waar een wil is... Drie keer op rij Europees kampioen en toch in de steek gelaten. Maar aan strijdlust geen gebrek bij de speelsters van het Nederlands softbalteam. Zij gaan bij het WK voor een plek bij de eerste vijf. En misschien wel meer... Dit wordt geen verhaal over frustraties. Daar zijn de speelsters van het Nederlands softbalteam de types niet voor. Maar Dagmar Bloeming windt er geen doekjes om. Toen bondscoach Craig Montvidas haar eind 2012 op de hoogte stelde van het besluit van NOC*NSF om de softbalsters niet langer financieel te ondersteunen, vochten woede en teleurstelling om voorrang bij de pitcher. Hoe kon dat in hemelsnaam? Twee keer op rij kampioen van Europa, zesde bij de wereldtitelstrijd, de hoogste klassering ooit, en dan toch in de steek gelaten. Want zo voelde het. The Challenge of the Dutch Softball Team Where there s a will... The 3-peat European Champions have been abandoned, but there is no lack of fight in the players of the Dutch Women s Softball Team. They re shooting for the top 5 at the World Championship and maybe even more... This is not a story about frustration. The members of the Dutch National softball team aren t that type. Dagmar Bloeming makes no excuses. When Craig Montvidas told her at the end of 2012 about the NOC*NSF (Dutch Olympic Committee) decision to cut funding for softball, the pitcher felt a mix of rage and disappointment. How is it possible? Repeat European champions, 6th place at the World Championship - the highest finish ever for Dutch softball - and still dropped. That s how it felt.

7 Be part of the challenge! 7 The Dutch Baseball and Softball Federation (KNBSB) went to work to fight the decision. While the team was in the Czech Republic on their way to a 3rd consecutive undefeated European Championship, the Federation received assurance that the team would retain funding through 2014, although it was cut by more than half. NOC*NSF also added a stipulation: the team would need to place in the top 5 at the World Championship in order to be considered for funding in the future. Place lower than 5th, lose the money. The girls have their backs against the wall. We spoke to Bloeming during one of the Dutch team s trips to Texel, this time to give clinics to junior high school students as well as to the personnel of De Krim Holiday Resort. That sums up these players in a nutshell. They won t take this bad news lying down. With the help of the B.V. Oranje, a group of softball enthusiasts that supports the team, they have toured the country giving clinics and demonstrations, and playing exhibition games in an effort to bring more money to their top sport program, all while staying focused on the goal of reaching the top 5. At the first mention of the slashed funding the pitcher s face darkens. We had hoped that NOC*NSF would reverse their decision, but they only went halfway. When we won our 3rd consecutive undefeated European Championship I was so proud of this team. We achieved our goal, and we couldn t understand why NOC*NSF wasn t convinced. We could not accept getting knocked down time and time again. Of course, during a recession there is less money to go around, even for top sport, but this just wasn t fair. Bloeming sees this as a learning process. I can lose my temper quickly. It is important in a situation like this to be more controlled and understand how to go about things. Instead of getting frustrated, it is better to channel positive energy. There is no shortage of that on the Dutch team. Bloeming describes her team as an ambitious group that is already used to finding their own financial support. It s not new to us. It has always been this way. Despite the NOC*NSF support, it was never easy. Dagmar Bloeming: This just wasn t fair De Koninklijke Nederlandse Baseball en Softball Bond (KNBSB) ging in beroep tegen het besluit. Terwijl de softbalsters in Tsjechië voor de derde keer op rij ongeslagen Europees kampioen werden, kreeg de bond in elk geval voor elkaar dat de ploeg een financiële bijdrage behield voor de jaren 2013 en 2014, zij het meer dan gehalveerd. Bovendien voegde NOC*NSF er als eis aan toe dat het Nederlands team bij het wereldkampioenschap in Haarlem minimaal bij de eerste vijf dient te eindigen, dan zal er opnieuw worden gepraat over toekomstige financiële steun. Geen top vijf, dan geen bijdrage meer. De meiden staan met de rug tegen de muur. We spreken Bloeming tijdens een van de keren dat het Nederlands softbalteam op Texel verblijft. Dit maal om clinics te geven aan middelbare schoolleerlingen van het waddeneiland en aan het personeel van vakantiepark De Krim, partner van het team. Want dat zijn de softbalsters ten voeten uit; ze zijn niet stil gaan zitten na het slechte nieuws. Met hulp van de B.V. Oranje, een groep softbalfanaten die het team ondersteunt, laten ze zich zien in het land met clinics, demonstraties en oefenduels. Zo proberen ze geld binnen te halen voor hun topsportprogramma, onderwijl de focus houdend op de topvijfdoelstelling. Zodra de kwestie van de ingetrokken bijdrage weer te sprake komt, verstrakt het gezicht van de werpster. We hadden goede hoop dat NOC*NSF op zijn schreden zou terugkeren, maar dat gebeurde dus maar half. Toen we Europees kampioen werden, zelfs voor de derde keer op rij ongeslagen, was ik zo ongelooflijk trots op het team. Die doelstelling was in elk geval gehaald. Maar we snapten nog steeds niet waarom NOC*NSF niet overstag was gegaan, ondanks het succesvolle beroep. Dat je keer op keer wordt tegengewerkt, wilde er maar niet in bij ons. Natuurlijk, in tijden van crisis is er minder geld bij de overheid, ook voor topsport. Maar dit was gewoon niet fair. Celebration time: 3-time European Champions! De woede en teleurstelling sloegen als snel om in vechtlust. Je gaat eerst een tijdje mee in dat vervelende gevoel, maar daarna verandert je houding. Zo van: okay, dan zullen we het wel even laten zien, zegt de 26-jarige international. Wij lachen het laatst. We gaan ons stinkende best doen voor het Nederlandse softbal om bij de eerste vijf te eindigen, want anders is er daarna niets meer.

8 8 World Championship Softball 2014 Official magazine Team Netherlands Every time we have traveled to Florida in recent years, we have had to pay a part of the cost ourselves. We conduct a lot of clinics, which we enjoy. Now we have found a great sponsor in Sandd, as well as two great partners in Texel and De Krim Holiday Resort and we do a lot with them as well. We put ourselves out there. It s good publicity for them and also promotes softball. They let us have a look at the finances. An athlete with A-status earns between 900 and 2000 euros per month, based on their age. Bloeming can earn a living through softball, which is necessary because it is difficult to combine with her profession she s a nutritionist. In preparation for the World Championship I have focused entirely on softball and being physically prepared, although I do miss the distraction sometimes. An ambitious group! Het is voor Bloeming ook een leerproces. Ik ben iemand die zich emotioneel snel kan verliezen. Het is belangrijk dat je in dit soort situaties leert om genuanceerder te worden en hoe je dingen moet aanpakken. In plaats van je frustratie te uiten is het beter om die in positieve energie om te zetten. Daaraan is bij het Nederlands team geen gebrek. Bloeming omschrijft haar team als een ondernemende groep die al heel lang gewend is om zelf financiële bronnen aan te boren. Voor ons is dat niets nieuws. Dat is altijd al zo geweest. Ondanks de steun van NOC*NSF was het nooit een vetpot. Voor elke trip naar Florida die we de afgelopen jaren hebben gemaakt, moesten we zelf altijd een bedrag inleggen. We geven veel clinics, dat vinden we ook niet erg. En nu we in Sandd een mooie hoofdsponsor hebben gevonden en in het eiland Texel en vakantiepark De Krim twee hele goede partners, doen wij daar ook veel voor. We laten ons zien. Dat is goede promotie voor hen en voor de softbalsport. Ze wil ons best een kijkje in haar financiële keuken geven. Een sporter met een A-status ontvangt een maandelijkse toelage tussen de negenhonderd en tweeduizend euro, afhankelijk van de leeftijd. Zelf kan Bloeming van haar sport leven, al is het lastig om softbal met haar beroep ze is voedingsdeskundige te combineren. In aanloop naar het WK toe heb ik me alleen maar met softbal bezig gehouden, om fysiek goed voorbereid te zijn, al mis ik soms wel de afleiding. Een WK in eigen land is voor Bloeming een droom die uitkomt. Dit is zo mooi. Dat iedereen die van softbal houdt de kans krijgt om de sport op het allerhoogste niveau van dichtbij te zien. Normaal zijn het je ouders, familie en vrienden die meegaan naar de grote toernooien, maar nu kan iedereen het zien en proeven. Er is geen beter moment om te tonen wat we kunnen. Daar hoort druk bij. Ik zou liegen als ik zeg dat het niet zo is. Want we kennen de consequenties als we het niet halen. Stiekem hoopt de pitcher van Oranje op veel belangstelling in de media, met misschien wel de finale met Nederland daarin live op de Nederlandse tv. Ik hoop dat ze open staan voor een nieuwe sport. Ga van de geëffende paden af en betreed iets nieuws. Verdiep je in de ontwikkeling van de softbalsport. Ervaar hoe geweldig het is. Hosting a World Championship is a dream come true for Bloeming. This is amazing. Everyone who loves softball has the chance to see the sport played at the highest level, right here in their backyard. Usually, it is parents, family and close friends who travel to see the big tournaments; now everyone can see and experience it. There is no better time to show what we can do, but that comes with pressure. I d be lying if I said that weren t true because we know the consequences if we don t succeed. The B.V. Oranje Diana Remmers is one of the people involved in the B.V. Oranje. She explains to us what this group of supporters is doing for the National team. What is B.V. Oranje? We are a group of volunteers who each have a deep personal connection with softball in the Netherlands. It is a Steering Committee that runs different projects in order to promote the Dutch team and raise money. Examples of these projects include the Oranje Winkel (Orange Store), the World Championship Promo Tour Indoor, The 11-City Tour, Talentboek.nl, the partnership with Texel and many more. In addition, we try to give as much support as possible to the team. Why are you helping the team? Because they deserve it! This team has developed in an amazing way, in spite of some hostile circumstances. 3-time undefeated European Champions and 6th in the world, and they did it completely on their own. This team sees challenges instead of problems. In addition, the Dutch team s results at the World Championship are crucial to the future of softball in the Netherlands. The B.V. Oranje wants to ensure that the team is adequately prepared, so no one can say later, what if...? How do you do that? Through the aforementioned projects we promote Team Orange and raise money to close the financial gap in the program. We are well on the way and that goal is within reach. Why will you soon be unnecessary? Because the Dutch team will finish in the top 5 at the World Championship. Once that happens NOC*NSF has already guaranteed its support. In addition, there is a chance that softball will return to the Olympic program for the 2020 games in Tokyo. This combination will make it impossible to ignore softball.

9 Be part of the challenge! 9 Secretly, the Orange pitcher is hoping for a lot of media attention and perhaps even a live broadcast of the final - with the Dutch team playing - aired on Dutch T.V. I hope that they are open to a new sport; venture off of the beaten path and try something new. Get involved in the development of softball. Experience how great it is. If we can do that, we ve already won big. It is hard to understand how other sports that are less internationally prominent and have not performed as well, receive more attention. We know how much we ve developed as a team; it would be great if the rest of the world could also see that. The only way is up! The results of the Dutch team at major tournaments since 2008 show an impressive upward trend: th place finish at the Olympic Games in China 2009 European Champion in Spain th place finish at the World Championship in Venezuela 2011 European Champion in Italy th place finish at the World Championship in Canada 2013 European Champion in the Czech Republic Montvidas has coached his team to three European titles. Als we dat voor elkaar krijgen, is er al veel gewonnen. Het is moeilijk te begrijpen dat andere sporten, die internationaal minder voorstellen en minder goed presteren, toch meer aandacht krijgen. Wij weten welke ontwikkeling we doormaken als sportploeg, het zou mooi zijn als de buitenwereld dat ook zou kunnen zien. De B.V. Oranje Diana Remmers is een van de mensen die deel uitmaken van de B.V. Oranje. Zij legt uit wat deze groep enthousiastelingen voor de nationale ploeg doet. Wat is de B.V. Oranje? Een groep vrijwilligers die allemaal op hun eigen wijze een sterke binding hebben met het softbal in Nederland. Het is een stuurgroep die verschillende projecten aanstuurt om het Nederlands softbalteam te promoten en fondsen te werven. Voorbeelden daarvan zijn de Oranje Winkel, de WK Softbal Promo Tour Indoor, De Elf Steden Toer, Talentboek.nl, de samenweking met Texel en nog veel meer. Daarnaast proberen we zo veel mogelijk facilitaire ondersteuning te geven aan het team. Waarom helpen jullie de softbalsters? Omdat ze het verdienen! Dit team heeft zich op een geweldige manier ontwikkeld, ondanks dat ze de wind tegen hebben gehad. Drie keer ongeslagen Europees kampioen en zesde van de wereld geworden. En dat hebben ze volledig op eigen kracht gedaan. Dit team ziet uitdagingen in plaats van problemen. Daarnaast zijn de prestaties van het Nederlands softbalteam op het WK cruciaal voor de toekomst van het softbal in Nederland. Met de B.V. Oranje wilden we er voor zorgen dat het team een topprogramma ter voorbereiding kon draaien, zodat niemand achteraf kan zeggen: wat als...!? Hoe doen jullie dat? Met bovengenoemde projecten promoten we Oranje en werven we fondsen om het begrotingstekort binnen het programma te dichten. We zijn heel goed op weg en het gaat ons lukken. Bloeming: There s no better time to show what we can do Waarom zijn jullie straks overbodig? Omdat Nederland de topvijf haalt op het WK. Als dat lukt heeft NOC*NSF zijn steun toegezegd. Daarnaast bestaat de kans dat softbal weer toegelaten wordt tot de Olympische Spelen van Tokyo in Die combinatie zorgt ervoor dat men echt niet meer om softbal heen kan.

Het postbezorgingsbedrijf is prominent aanwezig in alle media-uitingen van het team. Bij het WK staat volgens directeur Haico Meijerink de boodschap van destijds Ik wil (scoren) nog steeds ferm overeind. Starting this year, Sandd is the official sponsor of the Dutch softball team. 19 Partnership Sandd 19 Haico Meijerink, sinds 2011 CEO van de zakelijke postbezorger Sandd, ziet veel raakvlakken tussen de doelstellingen van zijn organisatie en die van het Nederlands softbalteam. Mijn interesse werd gewekt tijdens een gesprek met bondscoach Craig Montvidas. Hij vertelde mij toen dat de softbalsters nog steeds moet knokken voor erkenning, ondanks dat ze al drie keer Europees kampioen waren geworden. Softbal is een relatief kleine sport in Nederland en daarom is het voor de softbalvrouwen jammer dat de aandacht die ze verdienen ontbreekt. En daardoor ook de financiële middelen. My interest was piqued during a talk with Coach Craig Montvidas. Softball is a relatively small sport in The Netherlands, which is why the attention that these girls deserve is lacking and therefore also the financial resources. In Sandd the Dutch team has found more than a money source, but also an ally. What I felt was the passion, determination and perseverance of Craig and the team. That made a strong impression on me and proved that these players are a perfect match for our organization. Sandd also had to fight for it s existence. Meijerink explains: Contrary to the expectations of many, we have made our place in the liberalized postal market. We can identify with the Dutch players who have also defied expectations and survived setbacks, something we have seen from them repeatedly during the past few months. In Sandd heeft Nederlands softbalteam niet alleen een geldschieter gevonden, maar ook een bondgenoot. Wat mij opviel was de passie, het lef en het doorzettingsvermogen van Craig en zijn team. Dat heeft op mij toen diepe indruk gemaakt. Daarmee bleken de softbalsters voor ons als organisatie een perfecte match, omdat wij als Sandd zelf ook hebben moeten knokken voor ons bestaansrecht. Meijerink licht dat nog even verder toe: Tegen de verwachtingen van velen in, hebben wij onze plek op de geliberaliseerde postmarkt veroverd. Vandaar dat we ons enorm met hen kunnen identificeren. Dat is de afgelopen maanden keer op keer weer gebleken. Softbal leeft écht bij Sandd. Er is een enorme klik tussen Sandd en Oranje. Onze missie en die van het Nederlands softbalteam vertonen veel overeenkomsten. Vanaf de aankondiging van de samenwerking en de bekendmaking van de sponsoring hebben wij veelvuldig vragen gekregen van onze medewerkers of zij ook bij het WK aanwezig kunnen zijn. Omdat wij ook als sponsor een samenwerking zijn aangegaan met de organisatie van dit evenement is dat dus mogelijk. Strong connection Softball is really alive at Sandd. Dat ging ongelooflijk snel. En dat zijn dan niet alleen maar de mensen die zelf de sport beoefenen of hebben beoefend, zoals ik. Ook de overige medewerkers zijn ervan doordrongen dat deze vrouwen tot de wereldtop behoren en begrijpen de keuze om dit team te steunen. Wij zijn er echt mee bezig en kunnen ons niets anders voorstellen dat onze Nederlandse dames voor succes gaan zorgen. Iedereen die het verhaal erachter hoort, is ook gelijk om. Bewondering Sandd blijft in elk geval tot en met het WK de softbalsters steunen. Meijerink: Ik heb veelvuldig met Craig gesproken en ik heb echt bewondering voor zijn benadering. Wij hebben alleen aangegeven dat wij een concreet doel stellen. Dat is voor iedereen goed om naar toe te werken. Wij hebben geen toezeggingen gedaan over de periode daarna. Maar ik kan het mij zo voorstellen dat we bij dit WK in de topvijf gaan eindigen. Stiekem geloof ik er zelfs nog in dat ze een kans hebben om bij de eerste drie te komen, als iedereen naar vermogen presteert en als ze in topvorm zijn. Zeker gezien het thuisvoordeel, de steun van publiek en die van ons natuurlijk. Als dat lukt, dan gaan wij zeker met het team en Craig om de tafel zitten om te kijken naar de volgende ambities. Of wij daar dan een rol in kunnen spelen hangt van het WK en de omstandigheden af. And not just with people who play or have played softball, but also the rest of the employees who are convinced that these girls belong at the top of the world and understand the choice to support this team. We can t imagine anything other than a successful outcome for our Dutch women s softball team. Everyone that hears this story agrees. Meijerink: We can identify with the Dutch players Admiration Sandd will continue to support the team, at least through the World Championship. Meijerink: I have spoken frequently with Craig and I really admire his approach. We have proposed a concrete goal, which is good for everyone to work toward. We have not made any commitment for the following period, but I can imagine that we will finish in the top 5 at the World Championship. I secretly believe that they have a chance to finish in the top 3 if everyone is in top form and performs to their potential, especially given the home field advantage and the support both from us and the hometown crowd. If that happens, then we will certainly sit down with Craig and the team to discuss further ambitions. Whether we can play a role in those depends on this World Championship and the circumstances. Meijerink hopes that the World Championship draws a lot of media attention. I think that the Dutch media should recognize softball and the position of the team at the world level by giving them more attention. That applies to all forms of media. I think that our women have done an outstanding job to this point. They deserve the attention.
