1 (for english see below) Delft, 14 september 2011 Beste leden van de werkgroep en andere geïnteresseerden, Ook dit jaar willen wij u weer van harte uitnodigen voor de jaarlijkse nederlands/belgische bijeenkomst van de KNCV werkgroep Elektrochemie. Deze zal dit jaar in Brussel plaatsvinden, met als thema: Datum: Vrijdag 4 november 2011 Lokatie: ICAB Brussel Programma omschrijving: Het nauwkeurig kunnen detecteren en kwantificeren van moleculen is voor veel toepassingen van groot belang. Elektrochemische sensoren zijn hiervoor bij uitstek geschikt, en zijn veelal sneller en goedkoper dan traditionele massaspectrometrische en chromatografische detectiemethoden. Vergaande optimalisatie van elektrode-architecturen, membranen en meettechnieken hebben in de afgelopen jaren geresulteerd in sterk verbeterde gevoeligheden en selectiviteiten. Dit heeft geleid tot nieuwe toepassingen, variërend van biosensoren voor medicijnontwikkeling en DNA onderzoek, tot sensoren voor voedselproductie en local probes voor het ontrafelen van het mechanisme van elektrochemische reacties. Tijdens dit symposium worden de onderliggende principes, uitdagingen en laatste ontwikkelingen op het gebied van elektrochemische sensoren toegelicht door experts uit het veld. 2 Delft, 14 September 2011 Dear colleagues, It is our pleasure to invite you to this year s annual dutch/belgian meeting of the KNCV working group on Electrochemistry. It will take place in Brussels and will have the following theme: Date: Friday 4 November 2011 Location: ICAB Brussel Programme description: The ability to accurately detect and quantify various molecules is of great importance for many applications. Electrochemical sensors are particularly suited for this purpose, and are generally much cheaper and faster than traditional techniques based on mass spectrometry or chromatography. Over the past few years, highly optimized electrode architectures, membranes and measurement techniques have resulted in much-improved sensitivities and selectivities. This has spawned many new sensor applications, ranging from biosensors for medical applications and DNA research to sensors for food production and local probes for investigating the fundamental mechanism of electrochemical reactions. During this symposium the principles, challenges and new developments in the field of electrochemical sensors will be discussed by experts from academia and industry.
