The modern-day Pharos is a tall, elegant structure of steel and glass designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox and dominates the skyline of the Dutch town of Hoofddorp. But although the new Pharos is no lighthouse, it s certainly a house of light - and colour. It houses the regional headquarters of the Dutch Inland Revenue and the Immigration and Naturalisation Service (IND). Both agencies pride themselves on integrity, clarity and transparency. The interior had to reflect this. So glass played a major role. Interior walls are thin and translucent but allow the necessary privacy. Door elements are colourful and positioned asymmetrically to the surrounding glass. The resulting atmosphere is light, bright and airy. Thanks to the creativity of interior architects Van Mourik Vermeulen, translated through f lexible solutions from Maars, no one need fear a visit to the tax office again!

2 2 De originele Pharos stond in Alexandrië. De hedendaagse Pharos is een hoge, elegante structuur van staal en glas, ontworpen door Kohn Pedersen Fox, die de skyline van Hoofddorp domineert. Maar hoewel de nieuwe Pharos geen vuurtoren is, draait het zeker om licht en kleur. Het biedt onderdak aan de regionale hoofdkantoren van de Nederlandse Belastingdienst en de Immigratie- en Naturalisatie Dienst (IND). Beide diensten hechten veel waarde aan integriteit, duidelijkheid en transparantie. Het interieur moest dit weerspiegelen. Glas speelt daarom een belangrijke rol. De binnenwanden zijn dun en transparant maar bieden toch de nodige privacy. De uitzonderlijk kleurrijke deurelementen zijn asymmetrisch gepositioneerd zijn ten opzichte van de glazen elementen eromheen. Het resultaat is een heldere ruimte, licht en luchtig. Dankzij de creativiteit van de interieurarchitecten Van Mourik Vermeulen en de vertaling daarvan in flexibele oplossingen door Maars, hoeft niemand er meer tegenop te zien om een bezoekje aan de belastingdienst te brengen! Le Pharos moderne est une haute et élégante structure d'acier et de verre, conçue par Kohn Pedersen Fox, qui domine le skyline de la ville hollandaise de Hoofddorp. S'il n'est pas un phare, le Pharos moderne n'en est pas moins un bâtiment de lumière et de couleur. Il abrite le siège régional du Fisc néerlandais et le Service d'immigration et de Naturalisation (IND). Deux agences prônant les vertus d'intégrité, de clarté et de transparence, que le bâtiment entier se devait de refléter. C'est ainsi que le verre y a été choisi pour jouer un rôle central. Les cloisons sont fines et transparentes tout en respectant l'impératif de confidentialité. Les portes créent des touches colorées et un effet surprenant d'asymétrie sur le jeu de lignes des éléments de verre. L'ensemble respire une atmosphère de légèreté et de clarté. Grâce à la créativité des architectes décorateurs de Van Mourik Vermeulen, traduite par Maars sous la forme de solutions flexibles, une visite au fisc n'a désormais plus rien de sombre pour personne! Der antike Pharos stand in Alexandria. Der moderne Pharos, ein Entwurf von Kohn Pedersen Fox, ist eine hohe, elegante Konstruktion aus Stahl und Glas, die die Skyline der niederländischen Stadt Hoofddorp beherrscht. Der moderne Pharos ist zwar kein Leuchtturm, aber dennoch ein Turm des Lichtes und der Farben. Er beherbergt die regionalen Dienststellen des niederländischen Finanzamts und der niederländischen Einwanderungs- und Einbürgerungsbehörde IND. Beide Behörden legen großen Wert auf Integrität, Klarheit und Transparenz, was im Gebäudeinneren zum Ausdruck gebracht wurde. Daher spielte die Verwendung von Glas eine große Rolle. Die Innenwände sind dünn und lichtdurchlässig, bewirken jedoch gleichzeitig den erforderlichen Schutz der Privatsphäre. Die Türelemente sind farbig und asymmetrisch in dem sie umgebenden Glas angeordnet. So entsteht eine helle, lichte und luftige Atmosphäre. Dank der Kreativität der Innenarchitekten Van Mourik Vermeulen, die durch die flexiblen Lösungen von Maars umgesetzt werden konnte, muss sich niemand mehr vor einem Besuch im Finanzamt fürchten!
