2 Het disciplinaire future self Possible selves represent individuals' ideas of what they might become, what they would like to become, and what they are afraid of becoming, Markus & Nurius (1986)

3 als bron van activatie en motivatie? DFS kan bron zijn, maar niet noodzakelijk!!! Possible selves are thought to influence the motivation process in two ways: on the one hand by providing a clear goal to strive for if they are positive and to avoid if they are negative; on the other hand, by energizing an individual to pursue the actions necessary for attaining a possible self. (Leondari et al. 1998) To regulate behavior, the self-concept must contain not only goals or desired end states, but also strategies about how to behave in order to reach the desired end state. (Oyserman et al. 2004) => DFS concretiseren, verdiepen, verbeteren
