3 Rules This is a school activity, so it will have a big cultural content. It is also important to have in mind that it is a valuable experience living with other European students. o De uitwisseling is een school activiteit. Derhalve is het een culturele en leerzame ervaring. Het is goed om te onthouden dat deze ervaring erg waardevol is! All Internal Regulations of both our schools will be applied during this activity. This implies that students may be disciplined by teachers according to our own rules. o Alle regels van beide scholen tellen tijdens deze uitwisseling. Alle leerlingen mogen gestraft worden naar gelang deze regels. Students must follow teachers instructions (or other people responsible for activities) at all times. o Studenten moeten ten allen tijden de instructies van alle docenten of andere begeleiders opvolgen. The use and possession of alcohol, drugs and / or other substances is forbidden throughout the exchange! Teachers may check students if abuse is suspected. o Er wordt GEEN alcohol gedronken, of andere verboden middelen genuttigd tijdens de uitwisseling! De docenten hebben materiaal mee om leerlingen hierop te controleren mochten zij misbruik vermoeden. If the behavior of any pupil is not proper, teachers can decide to send him/her back home, after notifying the families. In this case, transport will be paid by families and does not imply a teacher accompanying him/her on the return journey. o Als een leerling zich niet goed gedraagt of de regels verbreekt dan kunnen de docenten beslissen om hem/haar naar huis te sturen. In dit geval zijn de kosten voor de ouders. Tevens zal er geen docent mee terug gaan! 3

4 The pupils will be punctual and avoid delays at meeting points in each group activity. o De leerlingen moeten altijd op tijd komen bij alle activiteiten! At all times pupils must have good manners and respect the rights of the others. o Leerlingen moeten ten alle tijden goede manieren en respect tonen! Teachers will call and inform the families in case of an incident. o Als er iets gebeurt, dan zullen de docenten contact opnemen met het thuisfront, NIET leerlingen! All personal belongings are the responsibility of the student. Teachers are not responsible for them. o Alle waardevolle en eigen spullen zijn de verantwoordelijkheid van de leerling zelf! We recommend not carrying anything that is not necessary. This way, we will encourage the value of enjoying the experience of living with other students. o We raden aan geen onnodige waardevolle spullen mee te nemen tijdens de activiteiten. 4

5 Important information: Students can have a mobile phone to make personal calls. Remember to use it logically and politely. Don t use the mobile phones during any school-activities. Also keep in mind that a making or receiving a call in a foreign country can be very expensive! o Leerlingen mogen mobieltjes gebruiken om naar huis te bellen, maar je mag ze niet tijdens activiteiten gebruiken. Let er op dat je ook s avonds je mobiel niet te veel gebruikt. Je bent op uitwisseling; dit betekent dat je wordt geacht je sociaal en cultureel aan te passen aan je gastgezin. Denk eraan dat bellen, gebeld worden en je voic inspreken/luisteren erg duur is in het buitenland! It is important to tell your teacher if the student needs any special medication during the exchange. Also bring the recipe/description of the drug in English. o Het is belangrijk om je docent op de hoogte te stellen van eventueel medicijn gebruik. Neem ook een recept en een bijsluiter mee in het Engels. Tuesday March 24 we meet in Eindhoven at 7.30 o clock. We ll arrive in Budapest at o clock. Bring some food for breakfast. Let your parents know that you arrived safely! o Op dinsdag 24 maart ben je uiterlijk om 7.30 uur op Eindhoven vliegveld. We vliegen vanaf daar met Wizzair. Het vluchtnummer is W In de les zijn afspraken gemaakt over het autorijden. Het schema vind je verderop in dit boekje. We komen om uur aan in Budapest. Vraag je gast-ouders of je even naar huis mag bellen, om te laten weten dat je veilig bent aangekomen. Tuesday March 31 we ll leave Fonyod at 2.00 o clock in the morning. Our flight leaves at 6.10 o clock, and we ll arrive in Eindhoven at 8.10 o clock. 5

6 o Op dinsdag 31 maart vertrekken we uit Fonyod met de bus om 2.00 uur s nachts. Ons vliegtuig vertrekt uit Budapest om 6.10 en we verwachten om 8.10 in Eindhoven aan te komen. Het vluchtnummer is W Ook voor het terugbrengen met de auto zijn afspraken gemaakt. Zie hiervoor het autoschema. All students are paired up and can bring 1 suitcase together of max 32 kilos. Make sure that you have packed your suitcase the night before so that only essential things still have to be arranged at Eindhoven airport. o Alle leerlingen zijn in tweetallen verdeeld en nemen samen 1 koffer mee die maximaal 32 kilo mag wegen. Dit controleren we extra op het vliegveld. Zorg ervoor dat de avond van te voren het meeste ingepakt is. Carry-on luggage: the maximum measurements of the luggage you bring on board are 56x45x25cm o De maximale afmetingen van de handbagage zijn 56x45x25cm Ask your host-parents what their address, phone number and the name of your host family is, write it down in this booklet and keep it with you at all times. o Vraag het adres, telefoonnummer en de naam van je gastgezin. Schrijf dat in dit boekje. Houdt dit boekje bij je te alle tijden! Je kan het ook in dit boekje schrijven. The rules of your host family are your rules!. o Houd je aan de regels van je gastgezin. Your host family will take care of your food (breakfast, lunch and dinner) drinks, lunch packets, nice bed, etc o Je gastgezin zorgt voor je levensonderhoud: eten, drinken, lunchpakketjes, goed bed, etc 6

7 There is NO changing in the place where you sleep/no sleepovers! o Slaapplaatsen worden NIET gewisseld. It s a habit to bring something typical Dutch for your host family as a sign of gratitude. o Het is de gewoonte om iets typisch Nederlands mee te nemen voor je gastgezin als bedankje voor de gastvrijheid. (denk aan drop, stroopwafels, klompjes). If there are casualties always call your teacher first! o Bij problemen altijd eerst je begeleiding bellen! (ten alle tijden!!). If you meet up at another student s home, make sure to behave correctly. Keep in mind that your host family decides the rules as to when you re supposed to be home. Also, you are a guest, so be polite at all times and don t use any alcohol. o s' Avonds wordt er vaak van alles afgesproken. Je zal waarschijnlijk weinig thuis zijn. Let echter wel op regels over hoe laat de leerlingen thuis moeten zijn. Dit bepalen de gastouders. Don t forget to bring: passport/id/health insurance card studentcard (Mondriaanpas/CJP pas) swimming gear (bathing suit) flipflops bathtowels trainers comfortable (sporty) clothes money (you can withdraw money at the airport ATMs in Budapest) 7

Also add all the assignments you ve gotten. o Beschrijf in detail waar je bent geweest op welke dag, wat is er aan jou door docenten/leerlingen/gidsen erover verteld, waar ligt het op de kaart, etc. Ook alle informatie die je hebt gehoord in musea.
