1 SOUTHWEST TEACHING MISSION RETREAT & FAMILY REUNION February (23) 24-26, 2006 at the CANOSSIAN SPIRITUALITY CENTER in the South Valley of Albuquerque, New Mexico Canossian Retreat Center : The site describes their history, their services, their facilities and the fees they charge; however, in the interest of simplicity and democracy, we have rounded it up to basically $75.00 per day per person, which includes everything: shuttle to and from the airport, transcripts of the sessions, registration, meals, lodging and almost unlimited use of the facilities. [Do we need TV/VCR, Flip Chart, Lectern, Mike at Lectern, Clip-on Mike, Tape/CD Player? They are available, as is a modem, but no PC.] You are also welcome to peruse last year's SW TeaM R&R Scrap Book slide show featured at which includes photos of the Center and the attendees, as well as transcripts of T/R sessions, show & tell presentations, and story-telling of our lives. Based on the premise "build it, and they will come," we have reserved the Center from 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 23, 2006, through 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 26, Thursday evening would be earmarked for spiritual focusing; Friday for business and organization. It is our tradition to allow our supernal guides and celestial overseers to have a hand in these planning stages, so nothing is set in stone but the place and dates, and even the dates can be extended if there is a call for it. If there is something you specifically want to "show and tell" -- or direct or reveal or transmit or sing or play or share, let us know so it can be worked into the developing agenda. Use of the chapel, the dining room and the Map room (situated as an open space in the east corridor), as well as the grounds and walkways outdoors are free and available 24/7. We will pay for the use of the library ($75 per day) and the conference room ($150 per day) effective Friday afternoon (and these expenses are absorbed in the registration fee). As far as rooms, there are 3 singles without bath; 7 singles with a bath; 4 twin bed setups with a bath; and 9 rooms without their own bathroom that can accommodate two people each, for a grand total possible at Canossian of 36 people. Those who require a private bath should speak up quickly! There is a laundry facility and gracious common bath and shower areas. The rooms are all large and commodious; there are no stairs to deal with; the south valley setting is secure and quiet. Delicious, nutritious, home cooked meals are prepared by the cooking staff and are served promptly in the dining room mornings, noon and night. In addition, coffee, tea, fruit and other oddities of hospitality are available. It is truly a five-star situation. NEW WEB-BASED FORMAT FOR THE UBIS Registration for the APRIL 2006 SEMESTER of the Urantia Book Internet School will begin on Monday, March 27, via its new website. After a year of preparation and testing, the UBIS is now presenting its Second Semester of courses with a new web-based format. The UBIS is an "all volunteer" Educational/Outreach project of the Urantia Foundation, and the development of the website was made possible through generous contributions earmarked for the UBIS. In addition to the readership's funding support, many hours were given by the UBIS teachers, Foundation Staff and reader-volunteers who worked together to bring this about. Al eerder hebben we geprobeerd om, in het vervolg van de bijeenkomst in de flat van mevr. Begemann, een landelijke Urantia-bijeenkomst te organiseren. Maar deze keer denken we een goede vorm en lokatie gevonden te hebben. Dus nodigen we je hierbij uit voor een Urantia Inloop-Café op zondag 25 juni 2006, aanvang

6 14.00h, in het pand van EMMA, Cremerstraat 245 te Utrecht. Dit ligt op 10 min. Loopafstand van station Utrecht C.S. De routebeschrijving vind je hier: Graag even bekijken, want er gelden wat specifieke aanwijzingen i.v.m. parkeren. Het Urantia inloop-café is georganiseerd zonder verdere pretenties. Er is geen formeel programma, er worden geen lezingen gegeven, we gaan niet een bepaald thema uitwerken. Het is bedoeld om alle lezers en potentiële lezers van het Urantia Boek de gelegenheid te geven elkaar te ontmoeten en ervaringen uit te wisselen. We willen kort iets vertellen over plannen om de Nederlandse vertaling van het Urantia Boek te herzien (vooral repareren van taal- en zetfouten) en over andere ideeën om de ontwikkeling van het Urantia Boek in Nederland te bevorderen. Maar daarnaast is er vooral informele gelegenheid om elkaar te ontmoeten. Juist ook tussen de diverse studiegroepen kan het wellicht nuttig zijn om ervaringen uit te wisselen. We laten dat verder helemaal aan jullie eigen initiatief over. Toegang tot het Urantia Inloop-Café is gratis. Drankjes en hapjes zijn tegen kostprijs verkrijgbaar. Er is geen vaste eindtijd vastgesteld en ieder is natuurlijk vrij om in kleinere groepen aansluitend nog andere activiteiten te ondernemen. Er zijn een kleine 70 mensen uitgenodigd via deze mailinglist en je bent geheel vrij om andere geïnteresseerden erop te wijzen dat dit Urantia Inloop-Café plaatsvindt of om anderen mee te nemen naar EMMA in Utrecht. Ik hoop dat je kunt komen op zondag 25 juni a.s. want het lijkt me prachtig om elkaar (weer) eens te ontmoeten! p.s. in verband met de voorbereidingen stellen we het op prijs als je tevoren kunt aangeven of je van plan bent te komen. Revisie Nederlandse vertaling van het Urantia Boek Het is de bedoeling om op korte termijn te starten met een beperkte revisie van de huidige Nederlandse vertaling van het Urantia Boek. Het accent zal daarbij liggen op het herstel van opvallende taal-, stijl- en zetfouten, dus niet op een alomvattende herziening. Misschien heb je in jouw exemplaar van het Urantia Boek aantekeningen gemaakt bij fouten die je tijdens het lezen bent tegengekomen? Dan zouden we het zeer op prijs stellen als je deze per kunt toezenden Of meenemen naar de bijeenkomst op 25 juni 2006 kan natuurlijk ook! Heb je vaardigheden die voor het revisie-team van belang zijn, dan kun je misschien meedraaien in het revisiewerk. We denken bijvoorbeeld aan een klankbordgroep die gereviseerde verhandelingen nog eens kritisch doorleest. Laat s.v.p. van je horen als je denkt hier een zinnige bijdrage aan te kunnen leveren! De bedoeling van de revisie is om uiteindelijk een veel handzamere soft-cover editie tot stand te brengen, dus meer een paperback formaat. Ondanks de omvang van het boek zijn daar goede mogelijkheden voor die we ook bij de Engelse editie (en recent bij de Duitse vertaling) hebben gebruikt. De prijs van deze uitvoering zou wat mij betreft best onder de 15 euro mogen uitkomen en misschien nog wel lager. Huidige prijs van het Urantia Boek

7 Over prijzen gesproken. De prachtige gebonden Nederlandstalige editie van het Urantia Boek is voor een verlaagde prijs beschikbaar. URANTIA YOUTH CAMP Friday August 4 Thursday August 10 (See simultaneous retreat option for parents below) A friendly, safe and fun week-long camping experience for youth, ages in the back woods at Silver Springs. Space is limited to 12 campers. The facilitators are professionally trained youth workers who are devoted to the revelation and are themselves experienced campers. They will be sharing Urantia values in a beautiful natural setting that includes ponds, streams and waterfalls. Activities to include camping skills, yoga, nature hikes, swimming, kayaking, arts and crafts, and evening campfires plus a special group project throughout the week A lifeguard and a registered nurse will be onsite.

Includes: meals & program DIVINE CULTURE Friday August 4 Thursday August 10 This retreat is ideal for parents who want to accompany their child to the YOUTH CAMP and enjoy a separate adult program. The purpose of this relaxed retreat is to give rest to body and mind by facilitating spiritual development through exercises and activities aimed at a closer relationship with the Thought Adjuster, greater realization of Spirit realities, worship opportunities, and the development of brotherly and sisterly relationships with other Urantians. SPIRIT QUEST II Friday August 11 Thursday August 17 SpiritQuest II is about Vision, Purpose, Credo (I Believe), and Life direction. SpiritQuest was introduced at IC 05 with an enthusiastic response from participants. It is a three-part training for spiritual leaders and teachers developed by a Canadian team under the leadership of Urantia Book reader and Unity minister Rev. Roy Healy. Based on a philosophy of living that holds the conviction that participants can shape their own destiny to create a better world, the training motivates people to be of service and grow spiritually. In Part I the theme of Truth is explored and will be offered in cities across North America. Part II, which is being offered at Silver Springs, develops the theme of Beauty. It is about prayer, meditation and listening. Part III explores the theme of Goodness and will be offered in the same cities as Part I later in the year. CAMP NEBADON Saturday August 19 - Monday August 21 This annual potluck celebration of Jesus Birthday and the partnership of Michael and Mother Spirit in the Universe of Nebadon will offer a special focus on planetary progress since Michael s human incarnation. SEMINAR WITH MOUSSA NDIAYE Friday August 25 Friday September 1(7 nights- Thursday is a full day) For several years we ve been hearing enthusiastic reports on the spiritual teaching methodology developed by Moussa Ndiaye in Dakar, Senegal and have witnessed profound and loving changes in many who have trained with him. Moussa has been offering seminars in French-speaking Quebec for the last few years and we at Silver Springs have been eager to host Moussa to share this methodology with English language students. Thankfully this year, he and bilingual translators Blaise Marchildon and Mark George-Moore, have graciously agreed to present the methodology that seems to change lives. We are very grateful to Moussa for adding this seminar to his Canadian schedule. Moussa Ndiaye is a French-speaking university professor and spiritual teacher in Dakar. His teachings are based on Urantia Book concepts. He also uses scriptures and other texts depending on the background of the student. Moussa developed his methodology over 25 years teaching over 1000 students in Dakar and has trained 80 teachers.

OUTREACH URANTIA Thursday October 5 Monday October 9 This retreat is ideal for those who want to share The Urantia Book with others but are finding it hard to know how to get started and what to do. Paula Thompson is an expert at presenting The Urantia Book to many different audiences. With thousands of hours of practical experience, she has introduced the book in various mediums, including television, radio, the Internet, speaking engagements, trade exhibitions and global Interfaith assemblies. Paula will conduct a lively interactive workshop to help you find the ideas, courage and confidence to give Urantia Book outreach a try. If you re already engaging in Urantia Book outreach, she will offer her extensive experience to help you hone your skills. Paula Thompson is the incoming Executive Director of The Urantia Book Fellowship, has been its Outreach Chair and until recently was the manager of Jesusonian Foundation.
