Realization The radiation-convection-principle that is used by Gouda Holland, has a special quality: the heat distribution capacity of the panel can be designed independently of the technically desired shape. 7 Gouda Holland in vogelvlucht Gouda Holland in nutshell Verlichting In 1929 opent Gouda Holland haar deuren als producent van schemerlampen en andere sfeerverlichting. De eenmanszaak, opgericht door de heer G.P. van den Akker, is dan gevestigd te Gouda. De eerste jaren kennen meteen sterke groei en in 1934 zijn er tien medewerkers. In datzelfde jaar wordt de inventaris van een kleine metaalwarenfabriek overgenomen en verhuist Gouda Holland naar een grotere locatie aan de Kleiweg in Gouda. Bij het uitbreken van de Tweede Wereldoorlog is Gouda Holland een begrip op het gebied van binnenverlichting. Lighting In 1929 Gouda Holland opens her doors as a producer of table lamps and other atmospheric lighting. The one-man business, established by Mr. G.P. van den Akker, is located in Gouda. The first years are immediately of strong growth, and in 1934 there are ten employees. In the same year the inventory of a small metal factory is taken over, and Gouda Holland relocates at the Kleiweg in Gouda. By the break out of the Second World War the company is a household name in atmospheric lighting. Eind jaren veertig zien we de opkomst van de fluorescentielamp. Gouda Holland speelt hier strategisch op in door een nieuw leveringsprogramma rond deze lamp te ontwikkelen. Dit binnenverlichtingsprogramma wordt speciaal ontwikkeld voor gebouwen. Begin jaren vijftig wordt ook de ontwikkeling van buitenverlichting opgezet, met als producten straatverlichting en lichtmasten. Deze producten vallen binnen een sector waar de groei enorm is en begin 1960 vormt de buitenverlichting de hoofdactiviteit van de onderneming. Door op een creatieve manier met haar producten om te gaan, breidt Gouda Holland haar productenpakket uit naar nevenproducten: Zo wordt er naast de binnenverlichting ook een systeemplafond ontwikkeld, gezamenlijk toe te passen in kantoorruimtes. Gouda Holland ontgroeit het pand aan de Kleiweg en in 1962 vestigt zij zich met een nieuwe fabriek te Haastrecht. Metalen Systeemplafonds De nieuwe locatie brengt nieuwe ideeën met zich mee, en er wordt naar afzetmogelijkheden gezocht in de bouwsector, waar systeemplafonds al in grote mate worden toegepast. Metaal wordt meer en meer toegepast in de bouw, met als gevolg dat Gouda Holland een breed productenpakket op de markt kan neerzetten. Behalve plafonds produceert zij ook gevelbeplating, koof-, schacht- en liftfrontbeplatingen en buitenplafonds. Maar daar stopt de ontwikkeling niet, want via de systeemplafonds komt Gouda Holland terecht bij een geheel nieuw product: Het kabelkanaalsysteem. De fabrieksruimte wordt uitgebreid met een aparte kunststofafdeling, en de verfspuiterij wordt verplaatst. Hierdoor komt er ruimte vrij voor het magazijn en ontstaan er tevens meer productieruimtes, welke tijdens het 40-jarig jubileum in 1969 officieel in gebruik worden genomen. Gouda Holland reorganiseert in 1974 en vanaf dit moment richt het bedrijf zich duidelijk op de bouwmarkt: De programma's met afbouwproducten en de kabelkanalen voeren de hoofdstromen. De verlichting wordt afgebouwd en uit de productie genomen. At the end of the forties we see the introduction of the fluorescent lamp. Gouda Holland strategically designs a new production program for this lamp. This program is especially for buildings. The early fifties mark the development of exterior lighting, with products like street lighting and lamp posts. These developments happen in a sector that is characterized by enormous growth and in early 1960 the exterior lighting has become the main activity of the company. Through creative product management, Gouda Holland extends her product lines: Besides atmospheric lighting Gouda Holland develops a modular ceiling. Together they can be utilized in office spaces. In 1962 the factory at the Kleiweg in Gouda becomes too small and Gouda Holland settles in Haastrecht with a new factory. Metal Modular Ceilings The new location inspires new innovations in product design and the search begins for potential markets in the construction industry, where modular ceilings are already common. The construction industry uses metal more and more, giving Gouda Holland the opportunity to offer a wide range of products. Besides ceilings, she also produces modular facades, cove-, shaft- and elevator-fronts. The developments do not stop there though, because through the modular system Gouda Holland comes to a whole new product: The cable duct system. The factory space is extended with a separate plastics department, and the coating department is relocated. This opens up room for the warehouse and production facilities, which are taken officially into use in In 1974 Gouda Holland reorganizes and from this moment on the company focuses clearly on the construction industry: The programs with finishing products and cable ducts and ladders form the main product lines. The lighting is reduced and taken out of production. A

Hier worden alle verschillende afbouwproducten toegepast en op elkaar afgestemd. Innovatie en kwaliteit geven het bedrijf bekendheid als creatief afbouwspecialist op niveau. En het bedrijf blijft vernieuwend, door te komen met een nieuw afbouwproduct: De SK-paneelverwarming. Cable ladders and Panelheating The construction market demands a commercial approach and as a result of its creative participation, Gouda Holland carries out extensive finishing projects at the end of the seventies and beginning of the eighties. The entire range of finishing products is utilized and geared to one another. Through innovation and quality the company becomes widely known as a creative high-quality finishing/completion specialist. The company remains innovative by introducing a new product line: SK-panelheating. De twee nieuwe productgroepen, Kabelkanalen en SKpaneelverwarming, maken de grootte van de productielocatie ontoereikend, aangezien de producten goed worden weggezet op de markt. De vraag is groot. De oplossing voor het ruimtelijk probleem wordt gevonden in het bestemmingsplan Industrieterrein Haastrecht. Grondruil en aankopen resulteren in een geheel nieuw en aanzienlijk groter bedrijfsterrein voor Gouda Holland met de mogelijkheid van een hoge bebouwingscoëfficiënt. In 1982 volgt er een totaal uitbreidingsplan, wat vanwege de economische recessie uitgesteld wordt. Intern wordt er ruimtelijk gereorganiseerd en effectiever met de beschikbare ruimte omgegaan. Een ander middel wordt aangewend, namelijk een betere profilering van Gouda Holland op de markt: Door opmaak van technische documentatie en standaardisatie van kernproducten worden producten beter gepresenteerd, wat bijdraagt aan een aanzienlijke productiviteit- en kwaliteitsverbetering. Dankzij het toenemend aantal afnemers op de Nederlandse en internationale markt, groeien afzet en productie vanaf 1985 weer sterk. De eigendomsverhouding van Gouda Holland wijzigt door de indirecte overname van alle aandelen door het management. In 1987 wordt alsnog overgegaan tot nieuwbouw, op basis van bedrijfseconomische en ruimtelijke gronden, welke in 1989 succesvol wordt afgerond. Tijdens het 60-jarig jubileum van Gouda Holland wordt het uitgebreide en gerenoveerde fabriekscomplex officieel geopend door de Commissaris der Koningin in Zuid-Holland, mr. S. Patijn. Het bedrijfscomplex biedt mogelijkheden voor nieuwe machines en er wordt aanzienlijk geïnvesteerd. Daarnaast biedt het ruimte voor ontwikkelingen op het gebied van organisatie, bedrijfstechniek en commercie. Binnen afzienbare tijd is er geautomatiseerde bedrijfsbesturing, en is het bedrijf in bezit van ISO-certificering en het VCA- Petrochemie. De know-how, het innovatieve denken en de krachtige bedrijfsstructuur scheppen nieuwe mogelijkheden voor deze dynamische specialist en Gouda Holland blijft zich ontplooien. In 2009 bestond Gouda Holland 80 jaar en kon terugkijken op een indrukwekkende staat van dienst. Een innovateur met een traditie van kwaliteit en vakmanschap, waarbij het de mensen zijn die het maken. Haastrecht, januari 2010 The two new product lines, Cable ladders and Panelheating, outgrow the production facility as they sell well. The demand for them is high. The solution for the space problem is found in the zoning plan for the industrial area of Haastrecht. The exchange and purchasing of land results in a completely new and considerably larger industrial zone for Gouda Holland, with the possibility of a high building density. In 1982 the total expansion plan follows, which had been delayed due to the economical recession. An internal reorganization is combined with a more effective use of space. Another means used is the better profiling of Gouda Holland in the market: By drawing up technical documentation and standardization of core products, the presentation is improved, which contributes to a considerable improvement in productivity and quality. In 1987 the construction of new buildings is finally started, based on business and space considerations, and it is successfully completed in At the sixtieth anniversary of Gouda Holland the renovated and extended buildings are officially opened by the Royal Commissioner of Zuid-Holland, Mr. S. Patijn. The renewed factory offers possibilities for new machines, and considerable investments are made. The space also offers room for technical, commercial and organizational developments. Within foreseeable time the business administration is fully automatized and Gouda Holland is ISO and VCA-P certified. The know-how, the innovative thinking and the powerful corporate structure create new possibilities for this dynamic specialist.
