Onderdeel zijn certificeringen van Oracle (Java OCA) en Microsoft ( MCSD Web Apps). Deze minor wordt aangeboden door deelnemende HBO onderwijsinstellingen aan voltijd en deeltijd studenten ter specialisatie op het gebied van software development.

3 1.1. ALGEMEEN 1.2. WAAROM DEZE MINOR Deze HBO minor Software Developer is ontstaan uit de behoefte van het bedrijfsleven om ontwikkelaars met kennis van zaken te kunnen vinden die ook geheel voorbereid zijn om als junior developer aan de slag te gaan in een professionele mixed ontwikkelomgeving. Bedrijven willen ook graag werknemers die met de formele certificeringen bewezen hebben de juiste kennis te bezitten en deze ook bewezen goed in een kenmerkende beroepssituatie hebben toegepast. Dat is waarin deze minor ook voorziet. Maar ook als een deelnemer de rol van Software Development niet als hoofdtaak zal oppakken is de minor zeer waardevol. Software Development is een zeer gewaardeerde aanvullende competentie die in veel functies een unieke verbreding geeft waarmee de deelnemer zich sterk kan onderscheiden. Software Developer als Minor is een Major differentiator AANSLUITING STUDIERICHTING Software development wordt steeds belangrijker. Tegelijk komt software development dichter en dichter bij de gebruiker, zelfs kinderen op de basisschool moeten tegenwoordig leren programmeren. Daarom is het belangrijk dat de business inzicht krijgt softwaredevelopment maar dat ook een softwaredeveloper de business goed kent. Deze minor maakt een rol in beide posities mogelijk, een businessman met affiniteit voor softwaredevelopment en de doorgegroeide developer die veel waarde heeft aan z n businessachtergrond. In beide gevallen geeft de minor geeft belangrijke extra kansen aan de afstudeerder. De HBO minor Software Developer is opgezet vanuit een business studierichting te specialiseren in software development AANSLUITING BEDRIJFSLEVEN De HBO minor Software Developer zorgt met name voor afstudeerders die goed begrijpen wat software development is en kunnen programmeren. De wereld draait meer en meer om software. In het privé leven, in het publieke domein en in het zakelijke leven. En zelfs het fysieke domein wordt via Internet of Things een onderdeel van informatiesystemen. Software bestaat tegelijkertijd ook niet meer uit 1 groot informatiesysteem, van 1 leverancier, in 1 taal met 1 database. Software is enorm divers, een geheel dat meer en meer van nature integreert. Producten van vele leveranciers of zelfs zonder leverancier, gebouwd in een verscheidenheid van talen en gebruik makend van een variatie aan datastructuren en opslagsystemen. Dat is de wereld waar deze minor zich op richt. Daarom hebben we ervoor gekozen om onder meer Java, C#, HTML5, CSS, Javascript, Node.JS en Angular.JS op te nemen in deze minor. Daarmee wordt een groot deel van de softwarediversiteit in de moderne softwareontwikkeling afgedekt. Op basis van behoefte uit het bedrijfsleven wordt ook de Agile projectmethodiek Scrum aangeboden en verweven in de opleiding. Tegelijk wil het bedrijfsleven kwaliteit. Er wordt gekeken naar goede opleidingen met breed geaccepteerde certificeringen. Daarom zijn in deze minor drie formele certificering opgenomen: Het certificaat voor Microsofts MCSD Web Applications, De Oracle Java OCA certificering en het Scrum certificaat. Alle drie zijn het waardevolle internationaal erkende certificeringen voor een professional binnen het bedrijfsleven. HBO Minor Software Developer v oktober 2015

4 Tenslotte is ook de praktische casus een belangrijk deel. Hier wordt verder de verbinding gelegd tussen de opleiding en de praktijk. De casus is een real live situatie waarbij het bedrijfsleven zowel bij de ontwikkeling, de uitvoering en de beoordeling betrokken is. Hierdoor worden doorlopend de laatste inzichten ingebracht en toegepast. Vanwege de praktische insteek en de afgebakende certificering kan deze minor ook buiten een HBO studie, gevolgd worden. Want naast het behalen van de minor en de bijbehorende studiepunten is zijn er de waardevolle erkenningen vanuit het bedrijfsleven van het formele MCSD Web Applications certificaat, het Oracle OCA certificaat en de Scrum certificering die met deze minor worden behaald DOELGROEP Deze minor is zeer geschikt voor de volgende doelgroepen: Studenten die een HBO business opleiding volgen; Studenten die een HBO IT opleiding volgen; Werknemers die zich willen specialiseren in Software Development. Werknemers die afzonderlijke componenten van deze minor willen volgen Naast de minor, ook losse modules De minor is modulair opgezet waardoor er een grote flexibiliteit ontstaat in de uitvoering maar ook in de deelname. Er kan naar wens een selectie en combinatie van beschikbare modules worden gemaakt waardoor ook de inhoud, de duur en de kosten van de studie variabel zijn. Dit is vooral interessant voor bestaande werknemers of instromers. Zij kunnen op deze manier via de deelnemende HBO s bijvoorbeeld ontbrekende competenties en formele certificeringen behalen tegen zeer aantrekkelijke voorwaarden VOORKENNIS EN COMPETENTIES Van deelnemers wordt verwacht dat zij de basiskennis hebben die voor een Software Developer nodig is. Wanneer deze kennis niet aanwezig is of de kennis opgefrist moet worden kun je je additioneel op een aansluitingsweek inschrijven. De aansluitingsweek wordt een aantal keren per jaar georganiseerd en zorgt er voor dat je bijgespijkerd wordt op de benodigde onderwerpen. Verder worden er een aantal competenties verwacht om te kunnen functioneren in de rol van Software Developer. 5 1.7. TE BEHALEN EC De HBO minor Software Developer heeft een totale waarde van 30 EC (studiepunten). Het kennisdeel bestaat uit 21 studiepunten. Daarin opgenomen zitten de Java OCA certificering (6 studiepunten), de componenten voor de MCSD Web Apps certificering (9 studiepunten), het C# component (3 studiepunten) en de JavaScript delen inclusief Node.JS en Angular.JS en Android mobile development (3studiepunten). Scrum, Jason, Cloudservices, Containers, Git en Github zijn onderwerpen die verweven zijn door de gehele opleiding. Uiteindelijk zijn er ook de praktijkcases waar het geleerde toegepast moet worden. Voor deze praktijkcase kan een subselectie gemaakt worden uit de behandelde technieken zodat die aansluit bij de wensen van de huidige of toekomstige werkgever. De beoordelingen is in 3 cycli van ontwikkeling die elk staan voor 3 EC. Daarmee komt het praktijkdeel van deze minor op 9 EC EUROPEAN E-COMPETENCE FRAMEWORK ITPH Academy is een groot voorstander van het toepassen van het European e- Competence Framework. Dit is een framework dat de Europese standaard aan het worden is voor competentiedefinitie in IT. Dit heeft als doel onderwijs, studenten, medewerkers en bedrijven nationaal en internationaal een universele taal te geven als het over rollen en competenties gaat. 6 Deze HBO minor Software Developer heeft de volgende e-cf Competences en hun gerelateerde proficiency levels tot doel: A6 1-2, B1 3, B2 2, B3 2, B4 1-2 B5 3, C4 2-3 (Definities kunnen hier gevonden worden, de complete documentatie van e-cf kan gevonden worden op Voor het verkennen van het e-cf is er ook een handig hulpmiddel.) 1.9. DUUR VAN DE MINOR Voltijd De minor duurt op basis van de voltijdstudie en de gemiddelde HBO studielast 20 weken. De minor kan echter, afhankelijk van de persoonlijk beschikbare studietijd sneller of langzamer afgerond worden. Door deze flexibiliteit kan het voorkomen dat bepaalde lessen in de avond of op zaterdag worden aangeboden. De minor is in de basisvorm ruwweg opgedeeld in: 16 weken theorie en praktische cases 4 weken praktijkopdrachten De praktijkopdrachten moeten bij stagebedrijven worden uitgevoerd. Deeltijd De deeltijdvariant kan in principe ook in 20 weken met natuurlijk meer zelfwerkzaamheid dan bij voltijd. De deeltijdvariant is echter flexibel waarmee ook de doorlooptijd variabel is. Daardoor is deze variant erg goed in te passen in een leer/werk situatie maar dat vereist wel meer zelfstandigheid en initiatief. De student kan zichzelf inschrijven voor de lessen die hij of zij bij wil wonen op de tijd dat het schikt. Er worden sessies overdag georganiseerd, in de avond en op zaterdag, op meerdere locaties in het land. In een leer/werk combinatie is het voor de praktijkopdracht de doelstelling dat de deze samen of individueel in een eigen werkomgeving worden uitgevoerd. De opdrachten zullen daarop worden afgestemd. Is dat niet mogelijk dan moeten de opdrachten in overleg bij stagebedrijven worden uitgevoerd. Inhoudelijk verschilt de voltijd niet van de deeltijd. HBO Minor Software Developer v oktober 2015

7 1.10. OPBOUW VAN DE MINOR De minor begint met Java die ook als taal de basis legt voor het programmeren. Dat is gelijk een stevig blok, maar is voor veel volgende componenten het referentiekader en wordt afgesloten met en Oracle certificering OCA (Oracle Certified Associate). Met C# als volgende stap zijn twee belangrijke stabiele talen die al vele jaren hoog in de lijst van gevraagde competenties staan behandeld. Tijdens het behandelen van deze delen zijn er veel praktijkopdrachten. C# wordt niet afgesloten met een certificering, dat zou te zwaar worden. Maar in theorie zou dat met flink wat zelfstudie wel kunnen. Vervolgens komen er drie onderdelen die elk worden afgesloten met een Microsoft Certificering. Het gaat hier om ASP.NET, MVC, Webservices, CSS, HTML5 en Javascript. Ook de Microsoft Cloud Azure wordt behandeld. Tegelijk worden ook de andere vier belangrijkste cloud varianten behandeld, die van Google, Amazon, Alibaba en IBM. Na het behalen van deze drie certificeringen mag de deelnemer de titel MCSD Web Applications voeren, de meest voorkomende MCSD titel. Daarnaast zullen een aantal populaire talen, libraries en frameworks behandeld worden zoals TypeScript, Node.JS, Angular.JS en het op Java gebaseerde mobile ontwikkelplatform van Android. Een programmeertal is slechts een programmeertaal en in de praktijk zullen ontwikkelaars allerlei libraries en frameworks gebruiken om hun applicatie op een snelle en efficiënte manier te ontwikkelen. Deze libraries en frameworks komen aan bod tijdens het behandelen van de programmeertalen. Daar waar het te pas komt worden Scrum, Jason, Cloudservices, Containers, Git en Github behandeld op basis van het Just in Time principe. Aan het eind van de theorie zal ook een Scrum certificering worden ingepland. Uiteindelijk zal het duidelijk zijn dat een ontwikkelaar veel van deze onderwerpen vaak in de minor zal tegenkomen. Voor de afsluitende praktijkcasus van ongeveer 4 weken zal de theorie uit deze minor toegepast moeten worden in een praktijkproject. Echter, niet alle technieken hoeven worden toegepast. De keuzes laten we afhangen van de wens van de bestaande of toekomstige werkgever of vervolgstudie in overleg met de docent. Daar waar dat niet van toepassing is kan de deelnemer een eigen praktijkcasus voorstellen aan de docent. De docent waakt er in alle gevallen voor dat er voldoende onderwijskundige beoordeling mogelijk is Bij een deeltijdvariant zijn de combinaties en de doorlooptijden gelijk aan het voltijdschema maar kunnen er desgewenst bij voldoende interesse per cohort ook alternatieve planningen voorgesteld worden. 8 1.11. EXAMINERING Examen voor de kennisdelen wordt afgenomen door de HBO instelling en een onafhankelijk door de vendor erkend exameninstituut. De resultaten van de praktijkproject moeten zijn opgenomen in het eindverslag van de minor. Op basis van het totaal zal HBO instelling een eindoordeel over de minor vormen DIPLOMERING Na het behalen van elk van de deelexamens krijgt de deelnemer een formeel leverancierscertificaat. De combinatie van de behaalde certificaten geeft het recht op de formele titel MCSD Web Applications en OCA. Ook zal tijdens de minor een Scrum certificering worden behaald. Er volgt een formele schriftelijke beoordeling van de complete minor, inclusief de resultaten en de verslagen van de praktijkopdrachten door de HBO instelling KOSTEN De kosten voor deze HBO minor bedragen Euro, inclusief een certificeringsexamen voor elke module, exclusief boeken en eventuele herexamens. Studenten van een erkende HBO instelling krijgen een korting van 50% op de kosten van deze minor. HBO Minor Software Developer v oktober 2015

9 2 Minor Programma 2.1. ALGEMEEN De HBO minor Software Developer is bedoeld om de kennis en ervaring van studenten in business en IT richtingen nog beter te laten aansluiten op de praktijk met gecertificeerde modules die hoog gewaardeerd worden in het bedrijfsleven. Studenten leren hoe vandaag en morgen software wordt gebouwd met de meest populaire technieken. ONDERDELEN Programmeren o De deelnemer krijgt een beeld van de verschillende programmeerstijlen en zal deze in voorbeelden zelf toepassen. Kennis van en ervaring met het proces van programmeren is belangrijk voor de gehele minor dus dit onderdeel is van groot belang. Gedurende de minor wordt dit onderwerp verbreed en uitgediept zodat aan het eind een gedegen inzicht is ontstaan rond het begrip programmeren. Programmeertalen o Uit de honderden talen die er bestaan zijn een aantal talen gekozen die ofwel relatief tijdloos zijn (Zoals Java en C#) en een aantal talen die juist op dit moment en in de nabije toekomst in de belangstelling staan (zoals HTML5 en Angular.JS). Hierdoor wordt zowel een stevige duurzame basis gelegd maar ook voor het bouwen van applicaties met moderne look and feel worden de hulpmiddelen aangereikt en toegepast Platformen o De PC in combinatie met een fysieke server als platform bestaat nog steeds, maar er ontstaan steeds meer en belangrijkere platformen zoals het cloud platform, de TV als platform en het mobile platform, benaderd met multi platform ontwikkeling of een zeer gerichte ontwikkeling op een specifiek platform waarbij alle functionaliteiten van een platform optimaal worden benut. Als voorbeeldplatformen worden de vijf belangrijkste cloudplatformen van Microsoft, IBM, Amazon, Google en Alibaba gebruikt en het mobile platform van Android Praktijkcase o De minor wordt afgesloten met een praktijkcase. Hierin wordt een project in een praktijksituatie nagebootst. In een paar weken tijd zullen de studenten in een projectteam samen met een klant een realistische oplossing onderzoeken, adviseren, opbouwen en opleveren. Iedere student heeft in dit proces zo veel mogelijk wisselende maar wel realistische rollen. Doel van dit gedeelte is om HBO Minor Software Developer v oktober 2015

11 de theorie toe te kunnen passen, met inzicht valkuilen te leren herkennen en oplossingen aan te dragen THEORIE EN PRAKTIJK Doorlopend wordt theorie afgewisseld door praktijk. Ook in de theoriedelen zijn veel praktijkcases aanwezig. De docenten hebben zelf praktijkervaring bij bedrijven en zullen waardevolle praktische leermomenten aandragen en die verbinden met de leerstof STUDIEMATERIAAL Gedurende de theorie en praktijklessen wordt gebruik gemaakt van officiële cursusmaterialen die door de verschillende leveranciers ter beschikking worden gesteld. Het cursusmateriaal wordt eigendom van de student LEEROMGEVINGEN Op de leslocatie is hardware aanwezig waar gedurende de lessen gebruik van gemaakt kan worden. Echter, als ontwikkelaar is het handig om een eigen ontwikkelomgeving te hebben ingericht op je eigen laptop. We adviseren dan ook om voor een eigen ontwikkelaars laptop te zorgen, een goede middenklasse laptop voldoet daar over het algemeen aan. 12 3 Beschrijving cursusdelen 3.1. GENERAL INFORMATION The minor contains 7 knowledge parts to achieve competences and 1 practical part, split into three periods. That allows the participant to get a good mix of theory and practical experience KNOWLEDGE PARTS SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT The seven parts are 1. Java 2. C# 3. HTML5/CSS3/JAVASCRIPT 4. ASP.NET MVC applications using.net 5. Developing Windows Azure and Web Services 6. JavaScript, Typescript, Node.JS, Angular.JS 7. Mobile development with Android (Java) We will describe the detailed content of each part below PART 1 JAVA This first part will provide the foundation for the software developer. Java is a language that contains most of the aspects that are found in the subsequent parts allowing for easier and faster understanding. Even though the subjects are based on the OCA Exam, they reflect the theoretical background and practical knowledge needed to develop in Java. This part will probably require quite some self-study and includes several practical assignments that need to be executed with fellow participants, as much of the learning is done by practicing. 14 3.4. PART 2 C# This part teaches developers the programming skills that are required for developers to create Windows applications using the C# language. We will review the basics of C# program structure, language syntax, and implementation details. Many of the techniques and technologies employed by modern desktop and enterprise applications will be introduced, including: Building new data types. Handling events. Programming the user interface. Accessing a database. Using remote data. Performing operations asynchronously. Integrating with unmanaged code. Creating custom attributes. Encrypting and decrypting data. After completing this course, students will be able to: Describe the core syntax and features of C#. Create and call methods, catch and handle exceptions, and describe the monitoring requirements of large-scale applications. Implement the basic structure and essential elements of a typical desktop application. Create classes, define and implement interfaces, and create and use generic collections. Use inheritance to create a class hierarchy, extend a.net Framework class, and create generic classes and methods. Read and write data by using file input/output and streams, and serialize and deserialize data in different formats. Create and use an entity data model for accessing a database and use LINQ to query and update data. Use the types in the System.Net namespace and WCF Data Services to access and query remote data. Build a graphical user interface by using XAML. Improve the throughput and response time of applications by using tasks and asynchronous operations. Integrate unmanaged libraries and dynamic components into a C# application. Examine the metadata of types by using reflection, create and use custom attributes, generate code at runtime, and manage assembly versions. Module 2, Creating Methods, Handling Exceptions, and Monitoring Applications o This module explains how to create and call methods, catch and handle exceptions. This module also describes the monitoring requirements of largescale applications. Module 3, Developing the Code for a Graphical Application o This module describes how to implement the basic structure and essential elements of a typical desktop application, including using structures and enumerations, collections, and events. Module 4, Creating Classes and Implementing Type-safe Collections o This module explains how to create classes, define and implement interfaces, and create and use generic collections. This module also describes the differences between value types and reference types in C#. Module 5, Creating a Class Hierarchy by Using Inheritance o This module explains how to use inheritance to create a class hierarchy and extend a.net Framework class. This module also describes how to create generic classes and define extension methods. Module 6, Reading and Writing Local Data o This module explains how to read and write data by using file input/output (I/O) and streams, and how to serialize and deserialize data in different formats. Module 7, Accessing a Database o This module explains how to create and use an entity data model for accessing a database, and how to use LINQ to query and update data. Module 8, Accessing Remote Data o This module explains how to use the types in the System.Net namespace, and WCF Data Services, to query and modify remote data. Module 9, Designing the User Interface for a Graphical Application o This module explains how to build and style a graphical user interface by using XAML. This module also describes how to display data in a user interface by using data binding. Module 10, Improving Application Performance and Responsiveness o This module explains how to improve the throughput and response time of applications by using tasks and asynchronous operations. Module 11, Integrating with Unmanaged Code o This module explains how to integrate unmanaged libraries and dynamic components into a C# application.
