Op het digitale schoolbord verschijnen de afbeeldingen van de woorden, die in de chant worden aangeboden. Controleer of de leerlingen de woorden (nog) kennen. Activeer de chant en luister er een paar keer naar. Verdeel daarna de klas in twee groepen (bijv. de rode en de groene groep) en leer elke groep zijn deel van de chant aan. to say, Yes, you can. Wijs naar je oog en daarna naar de afbeelding en zeg: I spy with my little eye and I see (fruit). De bedoeling is dat de leerlingen raden welke afbeelding je bedoelt. Tell me what this is please. Where does it go? Werkblad B: Colour the crayons and food. Draw other food that is the same colour and say. These crayons are all different colours, red, yellow, green and brown. Look at the food. An apple is red, a banana is yellow, broccoli is green and ice-cream is brown. Can you think of any other food that is red? Draw it here (etc). Tell me what it is. Groep 2 Crafts: Food pictures Je hebt nodig: wit tekenpapier A4 en kleurpotloden, viltstiften of wasco. De tekengroep wordt in vieren verdeeld. Een groep tekent op A4-papier dessert, de tweede groep tekent een main dish de derde groep fruit en de vierde groep vegetables. Op de achterkant van de kaart schrijft de leerkracht een cijfer van 1 tot 20. De food pictures moeten bewaard blijven tot de laatste les. Instructietaal (ondersteun de taal door de handelingen uit te beelden): We are going to make some food cards today so that we can play a game later. You are going to have a piece of paper to draw on. You are all going to draw something different. You are going to draw a dessert, you re going to draw a main dish, you have to draw a fruit and you have to draw a vegetable. This group is the cow group. When you hear the word cow you have to say moo moo. This group here is the bear group, so when you hear the word bear, you all say roar roar. How much money did they have? 3. Respond to the word De leerlingen luisteren nog een keer naar het prentenboek, maar dit keer krijgen ze een opdracht mee. De klas wordt verdeeld in vijf groepen; de cows, de bears, de cookies, de cakes, en de nickels. Elke keer als het woord genoemd wordt, moet de groep reageren. Materialen: Giraffe, werkbladen, schaar, kleurpotloden of stiften 2. Chinese whispers Herhaal de kernwoorden met behulp van de Flashcards: Restaurant. Speel daarna het spel Chinese whispers. Gebruik voor het spel de geprinte flashcards van de kernwoorden. De leerlingen zitten in een kring. Vraag een leerling een flashcard in gedachte te nemen en het woord in het oor van het kind dat naast hem/haar zit te fluisteren. (Die op zijn beurt fluistert het weer in het oor van de volgende en zo gaat het de hele kring door.) De laatste wijst de flashcard aan die bij dat woord hoort. We re going to play a game now, it s called Chinese Whispers. I want one of you to look at the flashcards and choose one, but don t say what it is. You re going to whisper it to the person sitting next to you. Then you are going to whisper what you heard to the person next to you. Then they whisper it and so on, all the way around the circle! Vraag de leerlingen zoveel mogelijk voedsel op te noemen. Is het een hoofdgerecht of een dessert? Is het fruit of is het groenten? Look at the picture on the board, please. Revision Poster: At the restaurant Voor de klas hangen de food pictures van de leerlingen met de nummers naar voren. Wijs een leerling aan en zeg: Find number (16). What can you see? Het kind antwoordt: I see (apples). De leerkracht vraagt dan aan de leerling of het een dessert, hoofdgerecht, fruit of groenten is. Herhaal dit totdat alle tekeningen benoemd zijn. it cake? Yes, it was cake! Now one of you can come and spy one of the pictures! 3. At the Restaurant Zing als afsluiting het lied: At the Restaurant. Observeer de leerlingen. Welke woorden kennen ze al? Durven ze in het Engels te spreken en te zingen? Let s sing the song At the Restaurant again. Can you remember it? 4. Test Als U als leerkracht graag wil weten of een kind vooruitgang boekt en of een kind de aangeboden lesstof tot zich heeft genomen, kunt u naast uw observaties er ook voor kiezen de kinderen een korte woordentoets af te nemen. De toets is op twee niveaus beschikbaar: Test A: hier wordt getest of de leerlingen acht kernwoorden receptief kennen (menu, waiter, waitress, check, dessert, ). Test B: hier wordt getest of de leerlingen tien kernwoorden receptief kennen (menu, waiter, waitress, check dessert,, he s eating, she s drinking). 5. Goodbye Song Look at all of these numbers please. Let s count all together, one, two (etc). On the back of these numbers are all of the food pictures we ve made. I m going to ask one of you to find a number, turn it over and tell me what food you can see. Let s try! (Name), can you find number 12 please. Turn it over, what can you see? Look at these pictures. Can you tell me what you can see? What are they eating? Cut out the pictures and stick them here. Werkblad B: Tell which food you like and don t like. Circle the happy face or the sad face. What do you like to eat? Can you tell me what this is? If you like it, put a circle around the happy face but if you don t like it, put a circle around the sad face. Create your own menu Hiervoor heb je nodig: reclamefolders, scharen lijm, gekleurd papier. Knip uit de reclamefolders plaatjes van je favoriete hoofdgerecht, toetje, drank, fruit en groenten en maak je eigen menukaart. I want to make some menu cards today. I want you to fold your paper like this. Then I want you to look at all of these pictures of food. Decide what you think would be nice to eat at a restaurant. Cut out the pictures and stick them onto your menu. Try to put all the main dishes together, all the desserts together and all the drinks together. The first person in each group stands up and takes one of the packets and puts it on their tray. They have to carry the packet to the other end of the room/here, without dropping it! I m going to say, Walk or run or jump or hop to the other side of the room. When you get there with your packet, put it down and run back to the next person, give them the tray and they have to take the next packet to the other side of the room. The first group to get all of the packets to the other end of the room and can tell me about the food, is the winner. Chant: Ice cream in a bowl Oefen de chant met de leerlingen. Bij het startsein pakt elke groep een verpakking, legt het op het dienblad en naar gelang de opdracht rent, loopt, huppelt, springt naar de overkant. Daar wordt de verpakking neergezet en het kind rent zo snel weer terug, want dan is de volgende aan de beurt. Als de verpakking eraf valt, moet het kind terug en is de volgende aan de beurt. Welke groep heeft als eerste alle verpakkingen aan de overkant? De groep die als eerste alle verpakkingen aan de overkant heeft en de voedingsmiddelen kan benoemen, heeft gewonnen.
