Facilitate and promote the progress of engineering and the international exchange of information and knowledge in the field of information systems and telecommunications for power systems; 2. Add value to this information and knowledge by means of synthesising state of the art practices and drawing recommendations.

6 D2_101: Development of the information platform for organization of data measurements, collection, processing and transfer between power facilities and control centers. Implementatie van nieuwe meetmethode en algoritmen om verschillende besturingsparameters van het totale elektrische transportsysteem te berekenen. Innovatief Bruikbaarheid: Relevant voor m.n. TenneT en Kema.

7 D2_102: Cyber Security: System Services for the Safeguard of Digital Substation Automation Systems Aan de hand van Best Practices wordt Cyber Security uiteengezet, met zeer handige tips. Pluspunt: Adviezen over het gebruik van USB-sticks en CD s/dvd s. Bruikbaarheid: Heel groot.

8 D2_103: Network Security for the automated substation Gebaseerd op uitgebreide ervaringen is een visie ontwikkeld voor implementatie van Cyber Security in complexe omgevingen. Niet duidelijk genoeg/niet compleet. Bruikbaarheid: Matig.

9 D2_104: Cyber threats and solutions to reduce their impact in case of attacks to international interconnections in the European power grid Overzichtelijke paper over risico s van Cyber attacks. Goede uiteenzetting van probleem en mogelijkheden. Bruikbaarheid: Zeer aan te bevelen.

10 D2_105: Back-up substation control system with multicommunication media support for handling emergency switching during SCADA failure Aanpak van een Thai-distributiebedrijf om informatievoorziening i.g.v. rampen te waarborgen. Hiervoor wordt gebruik gemaakt van diverse telecommunicatiemiddelen (glas, koper, GSM ) Bruikbaarheid: Aan te bevelen.

11 D2_106: ICT System Performance Impact on Wide Area Monitoring and Control Systems Academisch onderzoek naar het verbeteren van ICTachitectuur t.b.v. bedrijfsvoering om toekomstige tijdskritische applicaties te kunnen ontwikkelen en ondersteunen (WAMC o.a.) Bruikbaarheid: Aan te bevelen (TenneT en Kema)

12 D2_107: Cyber attack modeling and security graded approach: key elements when designing security architecture for electric power utilities (EPUs) Modelleren van een Cyber Attack in relatie tot de mogelijke risico s en de gevolgen ervan. Aanpak van implementatie van Security a.d.h. van de Graded Apporach Bruikbaarheid: Theoretisch; voor specialisten.

13 D2_108: Examples of Distributed Information Platforms constructed by Power Utilities in Japan Tweedelig: 1. Onderzoek naar de mogelijkheden van Cloud Computing en het gebruik van Open Software om een grote rekencapaciteit te creëren. 2. Concrete ervaringen in het implementeren van Security Bruikbaarheid: 1. TenneT en Kema 2. Aan te bevelen.

14 D2_109: Study and Application of Smart Transmission Grid Analysis-Control System Beschrijving van een geïntegreerde transportsysteem voor Smart Grids met ondersteuning van verschillende applicaties voor het beheer van het transport van elektriciteit. Bruikbaarheid: Matig

15 D2_110: Application of distributed information platforms for EPS 1- Invoering van gedistrubeerde backup en control centers, gericht voor het geval van calamiteit. 2- Tweede onderwerp gaat over Ethernet- en IPnetwerken voor monitoring, beveiliging en bedrijfsvoering. Onderwerp wat hier aangesneden wordt is tijdsynchronisatie IEEE 1588 (M. Bongers) Bruikbaarheid: Matig.

16 D2_111: Type An IP based, highly reliable telecommunications framework for advanced smart grid applications Paper beschrijft design rules welke gehanteerd zijn bij de invoering van IP-netwerk voor het Malaga SmartCity Netwerk (M. Bongers) Bruikbaarheid: Matig.

17 D2_112: Optical network monitoring system of "Red Eléctrica de Espana" Inhoud beschrijft een online monitoring systeem van glasvezels. Hiermee kunnen storingen in glasvezels online gedetecteerd worden. Plaats van storing wordt binnen een paar minuten gedetecteerd, t.o.v uren zonder online meetsysteem. Maar ook kwaliteits verandering van vezel kan direct waargenomen worden (M. Bongers) Bruikbaarheid: Aan te bevelen voor specialisten.

18 D2_113: New architecture for Operational Information Systems Model voor het ontwerpen van toekomstige computernetwerken t.b.v. bedrijfsvoering. Deze zijn geschikt voor het werkwerken van heel grote real time gegevens. Virtualisatie wordt hier gebruikt om dit te bereiken. Bruikbaarheid: Zeer aan te bevelen voor specialisten (o.a. TenneT en Kema)

19 D2_114: Innovative Architecture for Information Systems of a Mexican Electricity Utility Gebruik van diverse internationale standaarden om een schaalbare ICT-architectuur te bepalen. Bruikbaarheid: Interessant maar te summier.

20 D2_115: Future grid control centres for Indian power system Visie op architectuur om de bewaking van diverse Indiase elektriciteitsnetwerken te integreren. Dit gaat gepaard met ondersteuning van nieuwe technologieën zoals: Wire Area Measurement System (WAMS) en Synchrophasors. Bruikbaarheid: Zeer aan te bevelen.

21 D2_116: Information Security on Chesf's Telecommunications Platform Implementatie van Security-norm ISO/IEC 27000, met aandacht voor risicoanalyse en meetbare mijlpalen. Bruikbaarheid: Aan te bevelen.

22 D2_117: Transformation of the telecommunications network - Case Chesf Beschrijft de invoering van een nieuwe telecommunicatie netwerk bij Chefs, en de daarbij bovenliggende eisen aan het netwerk. Het netwerk is gebaseerd op MPLS (M. Bongers) Bruikbaarheid: Aan te bevelen.

23 D2_201: Distributed IT architecture for deploying a secure advanced metering infrastructure Architectuur t.b.v. slimme meters. Gegevens worden eerst op wijkniveau verzameld. Toegang tot de meters is (o.a.) via WEB. Bruikbaarheid: Beperkt.

24 D2_202: Applying information systems and telecommunication to develop the services provided by the electricity sector Beschrijving van het proces van automatisering / digitalisering van een Egyptische distributie bedrijf, met als doel het voldoen aan internationale standaarden betreffend dienstverlening. Bruikbaarheid: Beperkt; interessant om te lezen.

25 D2_203: Development of ICT systems for power system operation and deregulated markets in a smart grid arena Technische ontwikkelingen t.v.b. bedrijfsvoering in laatste 20 jaar: SCADA, integratie, Stationsautomatisering Smart Grids Bruikbaarheid: Zeer aan te bevelen.

26 D2_204: Privacy and security issues related to smart meter Beschrijving van de Privacy-gevoeligheid van gegevens van de slimme meters en een voorstel om hiermee om te gaan. Bruikbaarheid: - Goede beschrijving van de problemen - Zeer aan te bevelen.

27 D2_205: From sensor to i-phone: a multi-layer IT architecture for publishing wind generation data Wijze waarop gecollecteerde data van windmolens en weerforecast berichten gepubliceerd worden en beschikbaar gesteld worden voor een breed publiek. Bruikbaarheid: - Interessante aanpak - Zeer aan te bevelen.

28 Vragen m.b.t. PS1 (1): Question 1.1: The life cycle of the used ICT products is becoming shorter and shorter. - Are there examples on how to deal with this issue? - What is the impact on: reliability, availability, costs and skills? Question 1.2: Use of complex technologies: such as IEC and MPLS. - How do you deal with this now and in the future? - How would an ICT department for operational networks and systems be organized? Can the Cigré community play a role in dealing with this (future) problem?

29 Vragen m.b.t. PS1 (2): Question Q2.1 Most of the EPUs still have legacy products (PDH/SDH, non standard systems ) - How could we realize a back-up of it using modern technologies? Could we achieve a gradual migration to modern standard systems? 5 Question Q2.2: Back-up and recovery is based on hard- and software. These require frequent updates, and replacement. Legacy products are/were very reliable and have a long life cycle. - What is the value of modern ICT solutions in comparison with legacy? Is there any alternative? If this is not the case why not?

PS1 (3): Question Q3.1: Operational Networks and Systems (ON&S) are converging toward Office ICT. - Are there still arguments not to use Office ICT or even to merge with the existing traditional ICT department? It is all becoming IP, - ON&S is based more and more on ICT. How do you see its organization now and in the future? (Staff, skills, relation to High Voltage networks, etc.) What is your experience?

PS2 (1): Question Q2.2: To share experiences of using IT environment at a large scale to better serve Customer needs, could the audience explain EPUs approach to identify the real ITC needs and to describe their strategy for filtering and selecting their existing IT applications, to be further used and integrated with new needed ITC systems and applications, in a cost efficient manner?

PS2 (2): Question Q2.3: Could the audience detect any analogy with the evolution of the EMS/SCADA systems in the last 20 years, from proprietary to standard and off-the shelf solutions? What practical examples could be done in the frame of Smart Metering standardization and interoperability, both from vendors solutions, as well as from implemented projects point of view?
