26 Welke hotspot vragen beogen we te beantwoorden? Vragen met een duidelijke wetenschappelijke behoefte Vragen die binnen het grotere kader vallen Vragen die relevant zijn voor een gebied waar ook genoeg andere vragen over gesteld worden Vragen worden soms herformuleerd: Van Kan dit of dat naar Waar kan dit of dat Vragen naar optimale doelen (inrichting, bedrijfsvoering) herformuleren naar praktisch haalbare doelen

27 Water What is the response of the total water system (quantity and quality) at the national, regional and local scale? What are the possible consequences of climate change on cyanobacteria growth? What are the changes in evaporation and groundwater recharge arising from climate change?

28 Landbouw What are the preferred adaptation strategies of farmers in terms of agro-management, farm layout and land and water use? What adaptation strategies are successful under which conditions and at what locations? How will the spatial distribution of different farm(er)-types change in the future and what are the drivers of these changes? To what extent is the feasibility of adaptation strategies limited by farmer attitudes and how could this problem be tackled?

29 Natuur Are current nature conservation targets feasible in the future climate, or should we define new ones? Which hydrological and spatial planning measures are effective to preserve current and develop new nature conservation targets? How to quantify the effectiveness of different spatial adaptation measures to compensate for additional population fluctuations and to facilitate species expansion?

30 Cross sectoraal landbouw <-> natuur How and where do adaptation strategies for nature increase potential frictions with agriculture and where are there mutual benefits? How and where does agricultural adaptation increase stress on nature and where are there mutual benefits? Where is integrated adaptation possible and where is segregation of functions a better option?

31 Ecosysteem diensten What are the potentials and limitations of ecosystem services at the technical and socio-economical level? How can the effectiveness of ecosystem services be evaluated and what are the trade-offs between them? How can new ecosystem services be promoted and implemented in adaptive governance processes based on adaptation of the green-blue infrastructure of the landscape?
