Er zijn mooie woningen die goedkoper zijn n dichterbij. 2 / 3

Vooral aan mensne vragen die er al eerder zijn geweest die kunnen je het beste helpen. Alle stagiairs kennen elkaar er zo kan iedereen elkaar makkelijk helpen. Hiernaast waren de huis eigenaren geen leuke mensen. 2 / 3

Informeer eerst goed naar een goede en leuke woonplek (kijk bijv. op de Facebook van su4you) Uit eten en drinken is goedkoop, maar boodschappen kunnen dezelfde prijs zijn als in Nederland of soms nog duurder. Gebruik van een fiets is heel gebruikelijk voor studenten. Er zijn geen fietspaden en drukke wegen zoals de Kwattaweg waar je beter niet kunt fietsen. Het gebruik van een taxi is ook goed te doen qua prijs. V15: Write a short statement about the internshipto inform otherstudents. Ik heb een afstudeeropdracht gedaan in het Academische ziekenhuis in Paramaribo. Dit onderzoek was een prevalentiemeting op de afdeling chirurgie. Wij werden begeleid door een Nederlandse diëtist die dit onderzoek zelf had opgezet. De begeleiding was dus heel goed. Wij hadden verder weinig te maken met werkende mensen in het ziekenhuis. Het is belangrijk dat je vooral in het begin je best doet om iedereen vriendelijk gedag te zeggen en heel beleefd bent, want als je niet gemogen wordt dan zal je stagetijd een stuk minder leuk worden. Verder was het een hele leerzame ervaring. Suriname loopt sterk achter in de zorg. Met de kennis en inzichten van Nederlandse studenten kun je een goede bijdrage leveren aan het verbeteren van de zorg. Suriname is een mooi land, vooral het binnenland is prachtig. Paramaribo vond ik er een beetje vervallen uitzien, maar het heeft toch ook weer heel veel charme. Vaak zie je dat pas als je er een paar maanden zit. Er is geen echt strand, maar er zijn genoeg plekken waar je lekker kunt zwemmen. (Torarica, Jacana Resort, Krasnapolsky, Zin) Het uitgaansleven is leuk, maar veel hetzelfde. Wat dat betreft is het net een klein dorpje, want je kent al snel iedereen. Donderdagavond is studentenavond in Havana en in de tijd dat ik er was was vrijdag en zaterdag Tequila leuk om heen te gaan. Ik heb mij nooit onveilig gevoeld in Suriname, maar toch is het belangrijk op te passen. Elke vrouw wordt door de Surinaamse man aangesproken. Vooral in het begin is dat even wennen, maar je kunt je er het beste zo snel mogelijk bij neer leggen. Dat is nu eenmaal de cultuur.
