4 safety systems When the container is removed from its location, the underground part is protected by a safety system. The fence and floor are traditional safety systems that are automatically operated by means of counter weights. Alternatively a spring-loaded saloondoor system is available. E - La Secuita NL - Haalem quick and efficient emptying An experienced driver takes about 3 minutes to empty the container. With a filling efficiency of 95% and low operational cost (1 worker per vehicle), this type of underground containment is regarded as the most economical system in the urban waste collection industry. On only 167cm square, underground containers store 5000 liters of waste, minimizing the use of public space, reducing smell and improving hygiene. The rims on top of the concrete box are adjustable in height to level with the surrounding pavement. Special systems are available to compensate for street inclination up to 12%.
