Meer dan 100 reacties mochten wij op de eerste uitgave ontvangen. Dat heeft ons zeer verheugd. Deze editie staat in het teken van o.a. kwaliteitsborgingspreparaten, automatische analyzer voor bijzondere bepalingen, LIMS, interessante reagentia en een wereld primeur op HPLC gebied. Na ca. 7 jaar van research is het ons gelukt een HPLC fluorescentie detectie methode voor de biologisch actieve vrije fracties van Metanefrine en Normetanefrine in plasma en urine te ontwikkelen. Bij een analytische feochromocytoom diagnose worden de vrije fracties, plasma methode, inmiddels internationaal als meest betrouwbaar gezien. Tevens attenderen wij U op een nieuwe sneltest voor malaria waarbij in het venster de zogenaamde Plasmodium falciparum en de non-plasmodium falciparum (P. vivax, P. malariae, P. ovale) onafhankelijk van elkaar zijn af te lezen. Ook willen wij Uw aandacht vragen voor onze glucose bepaling, Hexokinase methode met startreagens, die wij op verzoek van meerdere Nederlandse klanten produceren. Door de glucosereactie te starten met startreagens i.p.v. serum, plasma of bloed wordt altijd een 100% glucose concentratie gemeten. Als volbloed of capillair bloed mede wordt voorbehandeld met ons pretreatment reagens dan meet U de meest betrouwbare en stabiele bloedglucose (geen glycolyse) die tevens onafhankelijk is van lage, hoge Hb concentraties, storende celmembramen of bijzondere eiwitten. However the method of choice is the plasma method (ref 2,3,4,8). If the laboratory prefers the urine method (less complicated) it is recommend after finding pathological concentrations to make a re-assay with an EDTA-plasma sample from these patients. Especially the determination of the total fractions (free + conjugated) gives often false increased results (ref 3). Therefore the analysis of the biological active free fractions are preferable. Before analysis, urine and plasma samples must be cleaned up as the components with no need for identification must be removed and than the samples are converted into a suitable form for final analysis with fluorescence detection.
