1 Beste spelers, coaches en ouders van jeugdspelers Dear players, coaches and parents of junior players Het hockey seizoen is ondertussen 6 weken bezig maar we willen graag nog een aantal belangrijke zaken toelichten en een aantal regels extra onder de aandacht brengen. We denken dat het voor iedereen goed is als er duidelijke afspraken en regels zijn. Als iedereen zich daaraan houdt kunnen we er, met zijn allen, een geslaagd en sportief hockeyseizoen van maken. The hockey season is now well under way but we would like to further explain some important matters and highlight a few rules. We think clear rules and procedures will benefit everyone. If all players adhere to them then together we can make this a succesful hockey season in all aspects. Omdat HTC Oranje International dit seizoen de nadruk heeft gelegd op het hebben van minimaal 2 teams in alle categorieën zijn sommige teams vrij klein geworden wat het aantal spelers/team betreft. Door 2 teams per categorie te hebben kunnen we jullie een plaats in een team aanbieden wat het beste aansluit bij je techniek & ontwikkelingsniveau. Het alternatief 1 groot team met heel veel spelers is niet goed voor je ontwikkeling (minder speeltijd/teveel niveauverschillen in 1 team). De consequentie is wel dat Oranje, meer dan ooit tevoren, moet samenwerken. Samenwerking tussen de teams en inzet/aanwezigheid van jullie allemaal zijn noodzakelijk om dit seizoen met plezier en succes te kunnen hockeyen. Bovendien is het leuk (en goed voor je) om soms 2 wedstrijden te kunnen spelen op 1 dag. This season, HTC Oranje International has prioritised on having a minimum of two teams in each category. A consequence of this policy is that some teams are quite small as far as the number of players per team is concerned. However, by having 2 teams in each category we can offer you a place in a team that best matches your hockey skills and development level. The alternative having 1 team with lots of players is not good for your development (less play time/too wide a range of skills levels in one team). It does mean that Oranje, more than ever, needs to work together. Co-operation between the teams as well as your commitment and presence are necessary to make hockey successful and fun this season. It is also good fun and good for you to sometimes be able to play 2 matches in one day. Hockey is een teamsport en wij verwachten van jullie dat je bij de wedstrijden en de trainingen aanwezig bent. Uiteraard is er begrip voor afwezigheid bij ziekte of ingrijpende familiegebeurtenissen maar in principe worden de wedstrijden gespeeld met een volledig team en wordt er getraind met het hele team. Zeker dit seizoen, met kleine teams, is het belangrijk dat iedereen zoveel mogelijk aanwezig is. Dit geldt voor alle teams

2 ook voor 2de en 3de teams. Als relatief kleine club kunnen we geen rekening houden met spelers die zonder veel inzet/aanwezigheid toch in een team willen spelen. Vaak hebben we maar 2 teams per categorie, stromen er ieder seizoen spelers door van het ene naar het andere team en wordt er bij elkaar ingevallen. Dat betekent dat techniek, tactiek en mentaliteit van de teams goed moeten aansluiten. Er kan geen (te) groot gat ontstaan tussen een eerste en een tweede team (en het tweede en derde team). Hockey is a team sport and we expect you to attend all matches and training sessions. Of course we understand if you cannot make it due to illness or serious family circumstances but those are exceptions. The rule is that matches are played with the whole team and that all team members attend training. Especially this season, with the small teams that we have, it is important that everyone is present as much as possible. This goes for all the teams: 1st, 2nd and 3rd. As a relatively small club we cannot take into account those players that wish to play in a team without the right level of commitment or presence. In most categories we only have 2 teams which regularly help each other out with substitutes and each season players move from one team to the other. Therefore all teams need matching skills, tactics and mentalities. We cannot afford too big a gap between the first and the second team (and the second and third team). Trainingen zijn verplicht, voor alle spelers, van alle teams. Kom op tijd om de training niet te verstoren. Hockey veilig (scheenbeschermers en bitje) en respecteer de trainers en het materiaal. Wij zullen, bij regelmatige afwezigheid zonder goede reden, de coach vragen maatregelen te nemen. Dat kan gaan van minder speeltijd tot het niet worden opgesteld bij de volgende wedstrijd. Ook bij onvoldoende inzet tijdens de trainingen en/of verstorend gedrag zullen er maatregelen volgen. Indien nodig zal het hockeybestuur, na overleg met coach en trainers, beslissen een speler een aantal wedstrijden niet mee te laten spelen of in een ander team te plaatsen. Training is compulsory to all players of all teams. Make sure you re on time so as not to disturb the training. Make sure you re safe (wear shin pads and a mouth guard) and show respect to the trainers and the equipment. If you are absent regularly without good reason, we will ask the coach to take measures. This could mean less play time or not being in the line up for the next match. If you do not show enough commitment during training or if you disturb the training, measures will also be taken. If necessary, the hockey committee may decide to exclude a player from taking part in a number of matches or move the player to another team but only after consulting with the coach and the trainers first. HTC Oranje International is de enige hockeyclub die al haar leden zaalhockey aanbiedt. Zaalhockey hoort bij het hockeyseizoen en wordt gespeeld tijdens de winterstop van het veldhockey. In principe wordt ieder team ingeschreven als zaalhockeyteam en verwachten we dat alle spelers van het team meedoen. We weten dat zaalhockey jullie techniek, snelheid en spelniveau bevordert. Ook zorgt het voor continuïteit in die zin dat een

3 te lange onderbreking een aantal in de eerste helft aangeleerde zaken verdringt. Meedoen aan de wedstrijden is het belangrijkst en de wedstrijden moeten vooral als extra vaardigheidstrainingen gezien worden. Als je na het zaalhockey weer buiten gaat spelen met je team zal je zien dat alles nog beter en sneller gaat. HTC Oranje International is the only hockeyclub to offer indoor hockey to all its members. Indoor hockey is part of the hockey season and is played during the field hockey winterbreak. Normally, each team is entered for the indoor competition and we expect all players to take part. We know that indoor hockey improves your skills, speed and level. It also ensures continuity: not playing during the winter months will reduce the skills learned in the first half of the outdoor competition. The taking part in matches is what counts and matches must be regarded as an opportunity to train your skills. You ll find that everything will go even better and quicker when the outdoor season starts again in February. De teamindeling vindt plaats aan de hand van een aantal criteria, zoals technische vaardigheid, inzet en aanwezigheid bij trainingen en wedstrijden. Om dit allemaal goed te beoordelen en om tot de huidige teamindeling te komen wordt er informatie ingewonnen bij trainers en coaches. De Technische Commissie kan gedurende het seizoen en na overleg met trainers, coaches en Hockeybestuur beslissen een speler van het ene team naar een ander team te verschuiven. De criteria voor een eventuele verschuiving zijn: aantallen (spelers per team), inzet (meedoen), opkomst (trainingen & wedstrijden), houding (respect voor coaches/trainers/scheidsrechters) en ontwikkeling (hockey technisch). In het verleden werd er, na de teamindeling eind augustus, vrijwel niet geschoven met spelers. Het is niet de bedoeling gedurende het seizoen het team waarin je speelt steeds maar weer op de kop te zetten maar de Technische Commissie zal, in bepaalde gevallen, gebruik maken van deze regel. Team selection is based on a number of criteria such as technical skills, commitment and presence during training and matches. For a solid evaluation and to make the final team selection, coaches and trainers are asked for their input. The Technical Committee may decide during the season to move a player from one team to another but only after consultation with trainers, coaches and the Hockey Committee. The criteria for a possible move are: numbers (players per team), commitment (taking part), presence (training & matches), attitude (respect to coaches/trainers/umpires) and development (technical skills). In the past, players were hardly moved once the team selection in August had been published. It is certainly not the intention to turn a team upside down during the season all the time but in specific cases the Technical Committee will use this option open to them. HTC Oranje International gebruikt het ONLI systeem voor de communicatie naar de leden. Het is belangrijk dat iedereen regelmatig de website bezoekt en zich kan inloggen. Op je teampagina kun je je aanwezigheid aangeven (voor trainingen, wedstrijden en evenementen) en kun je berichten sturen naar je team. Je kunt hier ook foto s op zetten en wedstrijdverslagen publiceren. De aanwezigheidsregistratie van ONLI wordt niet alleen

4 gebruikt door de coach en de admin coach voor de wedstrijden maar zal ook gebruikt worden bij de teamselectie volgend seizoen. Afmeldingen (voor wedstrijden en voor trainingen) moeten doorgegeven worden via ONLI. HTC Oranje International uses Onli for all its internal communication. It is important that you check the website regularly and that you know how to log on. You can register your attendance at training, matches and team events on your team page and you can send messages to your team members and (admin) coach. You can also publish pictures and match reports. The attendance register on your teampage in Onli is not only used by your coach and admin coache for matches. It will also be used by the Technical Committee for their year-end evaluation as one of the criteria for the team selection for the following season. Attendences for matches and training must be registered in Onli. Fair Play & Respect. HTC Oranje International hecht veel waarde aan Fair Play. Gedraag je op een sportieve manier op het hockeyveld en respecteer je tegenstanders. Respecteer ook de vrijwilligers die zich voor jullie inzetten in hun vrije tijd, de infrastructuur en de scheidsrechters die nodig zijn om een wedstrijd te spelen. Dankzij de coaches en trainers is het mogelijk dat je de hockeysport kan beoefenen. De coaches maken de opstellingen voor de wedstrijd, analyseren de tegenpartij, spreken een wedstrijd voor en bespreken na de wedstrijd de resultaten met het team. Hierin gaat veel tijd zitten, die niet altijd zichtbaar is. Zorg daarom dat je op tijd bent bij voorbesprekingen en vertrek niet voor de nabespreking is afgerond. Ook de admin coaches verrichten zeer veel werk achter de schermen. Onze trainers staan iedere dag weer op het veld om jullie nieuwe dingen te leren en om ervoor te zorgen dat jullie steeds beter gaan hockeyen. Luister naar hun aanwijzingen, wees serieus en laat zien dat je je inzet voor je team en voor je eigen ontwikkeling. Fair Play & Respect. HTC Oranje International greatly values Fair Play. Be fair on the pitch and be respectful towards your opponents. Be respectful to the many volunteers that give up their own free time for you, be respectful to the umpires and be respectful to the infrastructure. Thanks to the coaches and trainers it is possible for you to play hockey. The coaches make the team line-up prior to each match, analyse the opponents, carry out pre and post match evaluations and discuss the results with the team after each match. All this takes up a lot of their time, which is not always visible or obvious. Therefore make sure that you are on time for the pre-match instructions and do not leave until the postmatch evaluation has finished. The admin coaches too do a lot of work behind the scenes. Our trainers are out on the pitch every day to teach you new things and to make sure that you improve your play all the time. Listen to their instructions, be serious and show them that you are committed to your team and your own development.

5 Tot slot kort vooruitblikken! Het hockeyseizoen 2014/2015 zal starten op maandag 18 augustus, Kadetten, Scholieren en Junioren starten vanaf 18 augustus met hun eerste training (naar gelang beschikbaarheid trainers 1 of 2 keer die week) en/of oefenwedstrijden. Voor Eekhoorntjes, Preminiemen en Miniemen is er eerst de Oranje Zomerstage (van 18 augustus tot en met 22 augustus). Vanaf maandag 25 augustus worden alle trainingen volledig opgestart. In de weekenden van 23/24 en 30/31 kunnen er oefenwedstrijden georganiseerd worden of kan het team op toernooi gaan. De meeste clubs starten halverwege augustus en we zien dat we de eerste 2 competitiewedstrijden moeten spelen tegen teams die vaak al veel beter op elkaar zijn ingespeeld. And finally: looking ahead! The hockey season will start on Monday 18 August Training for Kadetten, Scholieren en Junioren starts as from 18 August (once or twice that week, depending on the availability of trainers) and/or practice matches. For Eekhoorntjes, Preminiemen en Miniemen there is first the Oranje summer stage (from 18 August 22 August). Training will start fully as from Monday 25 August. The weekends of 23/24 and 30/31 August can be used for practice matches or tournaments. Most clubs start mid August and we often find during the first 2 competition matches that we play teams that are much better prepared. Aanmeldingen nieuwe leden/opzeggingen en twijfelgevallen voor het seizoen 2014/2015. Alleen spelers die zeker zullen spelen in het seizoen 2014/2015 zullen in aanmerking worden genomen bij de teamindeling. Hiermee hopen we te voorkomen dat er na een voorlopige teamindeling nog zoveel opzeggingen volgen dat alle teams opnieuw ingedeeld moeten worden. This way we hope to avoid having to re-jig the teams after the selection has been published. Als je ergens vragen over hebt dan kun je die natuurlijk stellen aan je trainer, je coach, iemand van de Jeugd- of Technische commissie of aan de Hockey Manager. If you have any questions you can of course always ask your trainer, your coach, someone from the Youth or Technical Committee or the Hockey Manager.
