I have published on urban dynamics and culture, public spaces, creative industries, youth, surveillance and nightlife and have supervised PhD students with projects on Art in public space, the Dutch publishing sector and dynamics in urban Nightlife districts. In 2009 I received a four years grant (NWO) for a research project on Surveillance in Urban Nightscapes ; concentrates on public spaces in night-time entertainment districts and examines the socio-spatial effects of surveillance in these urban districts ( Furthermore, coordinator of the research program / pillar Finding your Way in a dynamic world in the strategic theme Dynamics of Youth (UU), fellow Human Geography at University College Utrecht, coordinator of the Master course Urban Daily Life and supervisor of students at Master's level (UU).
