2 Huiswerktips Homework tips Voor sommige kinderen is huiswerk maken een helse taak. In deze brochure krijg je een heleboel tips over hoe je je kind kan helpen met zijn huiswerk. For some children doing their homework is a devil of a job. This brochure will give you some advice on how to help your children with their homework. Maak tijd Sommige kinderen hebben wat meer hulp nodig bij hun huiswerk. Met jouw hulp kan je kind op termijn zijn huiswerk helemaal zelf maken. Bouw de hulp dus langzaamaan af, ook al is het resultaat dan al eens een keertje niet zo goed. Maak tijd om te luisteren, moedig je kind aan en leer het te relativeren. Schoolagenda School agenda Eerst plannen, dan doen. In de schoolagenda ziet je kind wat het moet doen tegen de volgende dag. Laat je kind een planning maken: Wat doe ik eerst? En wat daarna? Plan first, do later. In the school agenda your child can see what it is supposed to finish by the next day. Have your child draw up a schedule. What do I do first? And what later? 2. Huiswerk maken Doing homework Laat je kind beginnen met doewerk: woordjes schrijven of lezen, oefeningen maken, enzovoort. Zo kan het in de juiste stemming komen. Na het doewerk komt het leerwerk. Let your child begin with practical work: writing or reading words, making exercises etc. These activities allow it to get in the right mood. After practical work comes theoretical work. 3. Lessen leren en controleren Studying and testing Na het leerwerk is het belangrijk dat je kind leert zichzelf te controleren. In het begin kan je helpen door de les op te vragen, maar op het einde van het lager onderwijs moet je kind zichzelf kunnen controleren. 7 Waar ouders zelf mee zitten What parents worry about Ik snap er zelf niks van. - Maak af en toe samen de boekentas leeg. - Kijk samen in de schoolagenda. - Laat je kind uitleggen wat een taak inhoudt: Wat wil de juf dat je kan?
