In de Britse brief staat deze aan de rechterkant tussen de adressering en de aanhef; in de Amerikaanse brief staat deze rechts van het midden boven de adressering. 2. Interpunctiegebruik in aanhef en afsluiting. In de Britse brief worden deze allebei niet gevolgd door interpunctietekens en in het Amerikaans wel. 3. Positie van de afsluiting. In de Britse brief staat deze aan de linkerkant van de pagina, net als de adressering en de aanhef. In de Amerikaanse brief staat de afsluiting rechts van het midden onderaan de pagina. Oefening 2 De correcte lay-out en structuur voor de brief ziet er als volgt uit. Er is gekozen voor een Britse opmaak, omdat het gebruik van de interpunctie en de manier waarop de datum is geschreven al aangaf dat het om een Britse brief ging.
