7 Achieve your targets The results of the Interieur 2012 exhibitor questionnaire amply demonstrate impressive target achievement levels, resulting in positive feedback and a high number of returning exhibitors. 90 % of exhibitors comfirmed they achieved set targets. 11 Exhibitors AN EXCELLENT REFERENCE FOR BRANDS A strong backbone & 40% newcomers Despite the difficult economic situation, Interieur managed to maintain stable exhibitor numbers. The strong backbone of design brands, which has been part of Interieur throughout the years, was reinforced with 40% newcomers: relevant and innovative companies such as Objecten (BE), De La Espada (UK/PT), Petite Friture (FR), mosantimetre (TK) and Discipline (IT). Its streets were lined with a considered display of commercial stands, while diagonals were reserved for specially curated exhibitions. The central piazzas in each of the halls became lively meeting places with installations by international designers, artists and architects and a selection of custom-designed bars. 14 Services A SERVICE ORIENTED APPROACH Digital services: Create Leads & Reduce Costs Interieur 2012 saw the introduction of digital Interieur Cards and scan stations at registration, entry and stands, facilitating swift information exchange of brand information and contact details between exhibitors and visitors. The service also proved to be a tool for cost reduction in terms of catalogue printing. For 2014, Interieur will improve and expand the innovative digital services. 15 Professional packages The services and bespoke visitor packages organised by our travel partner Seauton facilitated the presence of international professional visitors, buyers, influencers and press. De diensten en de op maat gemaakte bezoekerspackages die verzorgd werden door onze travel partner Seauton, faciliteerden de aanwezigheid van internationale professionele bezoekers, aankopers, opiniemakers en journalisten. Shuttle Service The introduction of a shuttle service in partnership with Audi was a greatly appreciated new service linking Kortrijk Xpo and Kortrijk city, which ensured an uninterrupted day & night Biennale experience. 16 A curated Biennale DESIGNCITY 2012 A new approach The 23 rd Biennale Interieur expanded into the cultural heart of Kortrijk city. Together with the Kortrijk Xpo venue, the new city locations created a temporary DesignCity, showcasing avant-garde designers, innovative exhibitions and custom-created installations. The injection of city-life extended the Biennale experience and allowed for moments of encounter beyond the usual opening hours and borders of a fair. The Interieur Bistro proved to be the hot ticket in town, a busy meeting place for business and pleasure. De 23 e Biennale Interieur breidde uit naar de stad Kortrijk. Samen met de hallen van Kortrijk Xpo vormden de nieuwe stadslocaties een tijdelijke DesignCity met plaats voor avant-garde designers, innovatieve tentoonstellingen en speciaal ontworpen installaties. 17 2014 The Evolving City The Biennale Interieur will continue its city programme in 2014 and stimulate ever more actions, events and encounters within the cultural field. In 2012, under the curatorial direction of Lowie Vermeersch, 7 groundbreaking designers, artists and architects were invited to create installations, put on display thoughout Kortrijk Xpo en Kortrijk city. A considered investment The specially created cultural content of the Biennale Interieur - installations, exhibitions, debates, lectures and events - acts as a trigger for extended visits and media interest. It is a considered investment underlining the Biennale s status as a pro-active platform for the newest design developments and as a recognised authority in the field of contemporary design. De speciaal gecreëerde culturele inhoud van de Biënnale Interieur - installaties, tentoonstellingen, debatten, lezingen en evenementen - werkt als een aantrekkingspool voor langere bezoeken en wekt interesse van de media. The organisation, hospitality and production of the Biennale itself also received high praise. 26 Focus 2014 programme biennale interieur 2014 The Biennale INTERIEUR 2014 will return to a 10-day programme, starting with the opening day on Friday October 17 th reserved for design professionals, followed by a festive opening weekend. The industry days will take place on Monday 20 th and Tuesday 21 st October 2014 and feature a varied programme aimed especially at design industry professionals. De Biënnale INTERIEUR 2014 keert terug naar een 10-daags programma dat van start gaat met een openingsdag voor professionelen op vrijdag 17 oktober, gevolgd door een feestelijk openingsweekend. 27 TAKE PART, TAKE ACTION _ Deltalight illuminated several custom-designed Interieur bars. 02 _ The Interieur Bistro was a hybrid of a restaurant and an exhibition. It came to life with an eclectic mix of 200 different chairs, over 20 tables and 100 suspended lamps provided by Interieur exhibitors. Stimulating Exhibitor Involvement The Biennale INTERIEUR 2014 welcomes input from exhibitors who are prepared to break the mould and come up with innovative ideas for their presence at the Biennale. We are looking forward to your proposals! Additionally, new formulas has been developed to offer exhibitors the chance to exhibit in the most engaging way. 29 The full description of the new packages can be found in the printed application booklet or on new packages The Biennale INTERIEUR 2014 introduces new stand options for exhibitors, amongst them equipped units with basic infrastructure. These stands will be grouped in clusters located though out the halls at Kortrijk Xpo. Exhibitors opting for these inclusive packages will be free to concentrate on their actual product presentation, rather than having to deal with the organisation and logistics of building a stand.
