When asked to create or (re)design something, I first take time to invest in what a client wants. This is the foundation for each project. I debrief each assignment, set up a quote and ask as many questions as I possibly can before I start creating anything. CONCEPT. During the conceptphase, ideas will be designed on the imac. Besides creating a concept, a lot of research is done as well. It s important to see what competitors within the same branch are up to. This way we can develop an idea that is both daring and fresh but doesn t overstretch the original clients brief. PRESENTATION. When presenting a concept I d like to take the client through each decision I ve made and challenges that I was faced with during the conceptphase. Designtree usually presents only one idea that is solid rather than presenting five ideas that are unfinished and have holes in them. FEEDBACK. Feedback, in any shape or form, is needed to come to an approved concept that is embraced by all parties. I value feedback, am flexibel and will twist and tweak a design as much as possible, within the concept limits, to meet clients needs. I also advice and/or help clients make longterm decisions. START TO FINISH. Wheter I m asked to only create a concept or handle a project from start to finish, I m able to help you with anything you need. From handling the pre-press process to briefing other creatives. Designtree also has a large network of professionals that we like to work with and help make projects extra special. PRINT. The new magazine will be under constant care to improve it ongoinly. It is a like a new born child, you want to raise it well, see it grow. 4 5

5 LOVE POSTCARDS Designtree All artwork and copywork by Designtree Designtree illustrated a set of 15 love postcards. All cards are printed on high quality 100% recycled Woodstock paper, 285 g/m². The postcards are available in various concept stores in Amsterdam and in the Designtree webshop. Three of the drawings are also available as art via JUNIQE; the online shop that offers exciting and affortable art to everyone. Frontrow is a mix of fashion news and information about the catwalk programme, trade fairs, presentations, lectures and parties. 8 RELAX Prominent (via G+J Custom Media) Conceptdevelopment and art direction Prominent, a specialist in relax chairs, invited G+J Media to participate in a pitch to redesign their magazine. The assignment was to create a lifestyle magazine that would change people s opinion about orthopedic chairs. With the concept that Designtree created the pitch was won. Specifications Size : 210 x 280 mm Pages : 36 pages Frequency : 3 times a year Prominent (via G+J Custom Media) Conceptontwikkeling en art directie Prominent, marktleider in relax stoelen, nodigde G+J Media uit voor een pitch ter restyling van hun magazine. De opdracht was het maken van een lifestyle blad ter verbetering van de merkbeleving van orthopedische stoelen. The first issue was handed out to Queen Beatrix during the opening gala. Publishing House Bindinc asked Designtree in 2014 to restyle the magazine. Inmiddels werken er 31 vrouwen 2 samen tegen armoede Verbonden door een gezamenlijk doel Saskia: Ik weet hoe moeilijk het is om een business te starten, zeker als je geen geld hebt, dus dat ik Amena steun is bijna vanzelfsprekend Booooeee Met de eerste lening van Saskia van 50,- koopt Amena haar eerste kalf. Het kalfje wordt een koe; de koe produceert melk; Amena verkoopt de melk. Van de opbrengst van de melk gebruikt Amena een deel voor haar levensonderhoud, met een deel lost zij beetje bij beetje haar lening af en de rest legt zij opzij. het verhaal van Milly Hoe LuLu Works haar leven veranderde Kitunwa Milly Gabriel is ontwikkelingswerker en vrouwenleider. Ze is coördinator van LULU Works. Dit is een door vrouwen geleide producentencoöperatie in Zuid- Sudan, waarin vrouwen samen bijzondere huidverzorgingsproducten van Shea Butter maken. Microkrediet werkt simpel: u doneert aan Oxfam Novib. Wij zoeken lokale partnerorganisaties die een effectief micro financieringsprogramma kunnen draaien en geven het geld aan hen Graag! Lees meer op nl/ondernemers-voor-ondernemersnetwerk 4 5 Doeners In actie voor Oxfam Novib Niet zomaar een getal Het verhaal achter de cijfers Oxfam Novib (via Bindinc) Vintage kleding voor het goede doel Brenda (21), Merel (20) en Marit (18) zijn drie hippe meiden. Samen hadden ze veel lol met de verkoop van tweedehands kleding op de Oxfam Novib Fair. De opbrengst: 1502,-! Redesign en art directie kruidenierswinkels openden sinds 2007 hun deuren in Zuid-Soedan. Dankzij de kredieten van Woye doen nu ruim 1700 mensen mee met dit succesvolle programma. Oxfam Novib informeert donateurs over nieuws, lopende projecten en wat er gebeurt met iedere donatie via het Close Up magazine. Designtree restylde het magazine in opdracht van uitgeverij Bindinc. Ze verzorgt nog steeds de art directie en opmaak. Een tweedehandsmarkt vol snuisternijen, kraampjes, gezelligheid én vintage kleding is het podium voor de eerste Oxfam Novib Vintage Fair, georganiseerd door een groep jongeren uit het Engelse Glastonbury. Het idee om geld in te zamelen voor Oxfam Novib was snel ontstaan, zegt organisator Brenda. Bij twintigers draait alles om kleding en er goed uitzien, dus verkopen we vandaag zoveel mogelijk kleding en maken we niet alleen de kopers blij maar ook onszelf doordat we weten dat het geld gaat naar arme ondernemers ergens in een ander deel van de wereld. Voelt goed, toch? 11 DON Stichting Diabetes Nederland Conceptdevelopment To draw attention to, and raise funds for the cure of diabetes, Stichting DON launched a magazine. Designtree developed the magazine and was responsible for the production of shoots and guidance of photographers. The magazine was launched on November 14th, 2013, during World Diabetes Day. Specifications Size : 210 x 275 mm Pages : 124 pages Frequency : once Copies : Stichting Diabetes Nederland Conceptontwikkeling Om aandacht te genereren en geld in te zamelen voor onderzoek naar de genezing van diabetes, lanceerde Stichting DON een magazine. Designtree ontwikkelde het tijdschrift en was verantwoordelijk voor de begeleiding van fotografen en illustratoren. DON werd gelanceerd op 14 november 2013 tijdens Wereld Diabetes Dag.
