Evenementen als Jumping Amsterdam, Amsterdam Swim Cup, Amsterdam Rugby Sevens, Koninklijke Holland Beker, Dam-tot- Damloop, Amsterdam Marathon en de Zesdaagse van Amsterdam zijn evenementen die passen bij een topsportstad als Amsterdam. Als dynamische sportorganisatie zijn wij de centrale schakel in het professionaliseren van de topsport in Amsterdam. Samen met onze partners creëren wij optimale randvoorwaarden voor sportieve ambitie van talenten, topsporters en topverenigingen. Tevens houden wij proactief de regie op het werven en organiseren van internationale topsportevenementen. Hiermee geven wij een positieve impuls aan het sportieve imago van Amsterdam en haar Olympische Ambitie.

5 Hartelijk welkom in Amsterdam! De TCS Amsterdam Marathon, waarop zowel de toppers als de recreanten hun grenzen verleggen, is al jaren het grootste eendaagse sportevenement dat de stad rotsvast op de internationale kaart zet. Dat past dan ook uitstekend in onze olympische ambitie. Na het succes van 2011, met meer deelnemers op de diverse onderdelen, verheugen wij ons erop om nog meer deelnemers en toeschouwers te mogen verwelkomen in onze mooie stad. Zoals het er nu uitziet halen we dit jaar de ! Dit jaar, tijdens de 37 e editie van de TCS Amsterdam Marathon, wordt samen met titelsponsor TCS geld opgehaald en gedoneerd aan het VUmc Cancer Center Amsterdam. Een fantastisch initiatief. Topsport, talentontwikkeling en breedtesport gaan in Amsterdam hand in hand. De top inspireert de basis en de basis voedt de top. De praktijk heeft uitgewezen dat de Marathon duizenden kinderen aanzet om te gaan sporten. De Echo Mini Marathons die tijdens het evenement op verschillende Amsterdamse pleinen worden georganiseerd en de TomTom Olympic Kids Run, leveren de atletiekverenigingen elk jaar weer nieuwe jeugdleden op. En als kinderen een sport beoefenen die ze leuk vinden, ontwikkelen ze daardoor ook een gezondere leefstijl. Dat vinden wij van groot belang. Onze missie is om de Amsterdammers, maar ook haar bezoekers, te motiveren met de olympische gedachte iedereen een leven lang actief. De gemeente Amsterdam wil graag Stichting Le Champion, Tata Consultancy Services en overige sponsoren, de vele vrijwilligers, deelnemers en toeschouwers bedanken voor hun inzet en enthousiasme om er ook dit jaar weer een fantastische Marathon van te maken. For many years, the TCS Amsterdam Marathon, in which both top athletes and recreational runners extend their limits, has been our biggest one-day sporting event, and one that has set the city firmly on the international map. This also perfectly matches our Olympic ambitions. Following the success of the 2011 marathon, in which 35,000 people took part in the various runs, we are looking forward to welcoming even more runners and spectators to our beautiful city this year. During this 37 th TCS Amsterdam Marathon, title sponsor TCS and others will be raising funds for the VUmc Cancer Center Amsterdam. I think you will agree that this is a great initiative. In Amsterdam, professional sport, talent development and recreational sport go hand in hand. The professionals inspire the amateurs and the amateurs become professionals. Practice has shown that the Marathon prompts many children to take part in sporting activities. The Echo Mini Marathons, which will be held on various squares in Amsterdam during the event, and the TomTom Olympic Kids Run provide athletics clubs with new members every year. If children practise a sport that they like, they will develop a healthier lifestyle. We think that s very important. Our mission is to inspire Amsterdammers and visitors with the Olympic idea of everyone active throughout their lives. 7 Beste deelnemers, Het rennen van een marathon is misschien wel één van de uitdagendste manieren om je mentaal, fysiek en conditioneel te testen. De roem, tevredenheid en het gevoel van voldoening na het volbrengen van deze prestatie is echter iets waar alle ervaren marathonlopers bij zweren. Als gepassioneerd hard- en marathonloper, deel ik dit speciale gevoel van prestatie ieder keer als ik de finishlijn passeer. Hardlopen en het uitlopen van een marathon versterkt mijn geloof dat, zolang je jezelf ergens toe zet, alles mogelijk is. Meer dan hardlopers komen op 21 oktober naar de levendige stad Amsterdam om dit bewonderingswaardige doel te volbrengen. Vele anderen zullen deze hardlopers van binnen en buiten de stad komen aanmoedigen waardoor een optimale sfeer ontstaat. Ik wil alle deelnemers en toeschouwers die naar Amsterdam komen voor de TCS Amsterdam Marathon van harte welkom heten. Hiermee zijn we één van de snelst groeiende marathons in de wereld en we hebben de ambitie om nog verder door te groeien. Ook op topniveau willen wij de komende jaren verder stijgen. 10 Marathon Marathon De start van de marathon is in het Olympisch Stadion. Starttijd: 9.30 uur Parcours Op de parcourskaart in het hart van dit boekje is de route van de marathon met een rode lijn aangegeven. Startvakken De deelnemers aan de marathon dienen zich op te stellen in één van de startvakken. Deze startvakken zijn in het Olympisch Stadion. Na binnenkomst vind je deze vakken aan de linkerzijde tot vóór de eretribune. De startvakken zijn ingedeeld naar de verwachte eindtijd. De kleur van jouw startnummer correspondeert met de kleur van jouw startvak. Je dient uiterlijk om 9.15 uur in het Olympisch Stadion te zijn, na deze tijd zal de toegang tot het stadion worden afgesloten. In ieder startvak zijn diverse wc s. 11 Tijdslimiet Rules and regulations De tijdslimiet voor de marathon is 6 uur. De volgende km-punten moeten op de volgende tijden bereikt zijn: 25 km uur 30 km uur 35 km uur 40 km uur Als je deze tijd overschrijdt, wordt door een jurylid gevraagd om jouw race te beëindigen. Vanwege veiligheids- en gezondheidsredenen vragen we je plaats te nemen in de bezemwagen. Mocht je toch besluiten jouw race voort te zetten, dan doe je dit op eigen risico. Het parcours wordt weer vrij gegeven voor al het verkeer en de verzorgingsposten worden opgeruimd. Mocht je uit de race worden gehaald, dan kom je niet in aanmerking voor een medaille. Klokken en kilometerpunten Bij de marathon staan bij de start en op de kilometerpunten 1, 2, 5, 10, 15, 20, 21, 25, 30, 35, 40 en 41 digitale klokken. Iedere 5 km wordt de tijd geregistreerd. 15 Tijdslimiet Rules and regulations De tijdslimiet voor de Mizuno Halve Marathon is 3 uur. Bij overschrijding van het langzaamste tijdschema, wordt je vanaf het 5-km punt gevraagd in de bezemwagen plaats te nemen. De organisatie aanvaardt geen verantwoording voor deelnemers die deze tijdslimiet overschrijden. Genoemde punten van de halve marathon dienen op de volgende tijden te zijn gepasseerd: 5 km uur 10 km uur 15 km uur 20 km uur Klokken en kilometeraanduiding Bij de Mizuno Halve Marathon staan digitale klokken op de kilometerpunten 5, 10, 15 en 20. Op elk 5 kilometerpunt wordt de tijd geregistreerd. Daarnaast staat op elke kilometerpunt een bord. The time limit for the Mizuno half marathon is 3 hours. 21 Good Morning City Run De TCS Amsterdam Marathon presenteert dit jaar voor de tweede keer de Good Morning City Run. Tijdens een trainingsloop van 6,5 km laat een tourguide alle highlights van Amsterdam zien. Ideaal voor een culturele en sportieve ochtend. De gidsen van begeleiden je in groepjes van 10 tot 15 personen door Amsterdam. De start is vanaf 9.00 bij het Cobra Café op het Museumplein. Kaarten konden vooraf besteld worden of zijn op vrijdag 19 oktober verkrijgbaar op de Marathon Expo. Datum: Zaterdag 20 oktober. Start: uur. TomTom Olympic Kids Run De TomTom Olympic Kids Run is voor kinderen t/m 12 jaar. De start vindt plaats achter het Olympisch Stadion bij het Johan Cruyff Court en finisht in het stadion. Op het Johan Cruyff Court worden verschillende activiteiten georganiseerd. De Ronald McDonald VU Kinderstad is als goed doel verbonden aan de TomTom Olympic Kids Run. Het volledige inschrijfgeld ( 3,50) wordt geschonken aan de VU Kinderstad. Inschrijven Inschrijven is mogelijk op vrijdag en zaterdag in Sporthallen Zuid. Na-inschrijving is ook mogelijk op zondag 21 oktober bij het Johan Cruyff Court achter het Olympisch Stadion. Echo Mini Marathon Deze kilometerlopen voor kinderen tot en met 12 jaar worden op vier locaties gehouden: Stadsdeel Zuid, De Borcht (onder Amstelpark). Start: 9.45 uur. Over a 6.5 kilometre training run a tour guide will show you all the highlights of Amsterdam. An ideal way to spend a morning - sporting while doing something cultural. Every group of ten people will be guided around Amsterdam by two tour guides. The groups will be leaving from the Cobra Café on the Museumplein from Tickets could be ordered with the registration or can be bought on Friday 19 October at the Marathon Expo. Date: Saturday 20 October. Start: TomTom Olympic Kids Run This year we will host another Kids Run: the TomTom Olympic Kids Run. The children (7-12 years old) participating in this race are raising money for the Ronald McDonald Children s Clinic at the VU hospital. The start of the TomTom Olympic Kids Run at outside the Olympic Stadium. Registration It is possible to register in sports venue Sporthallen Zuid on Friday and Saturday.
