The aim of the event is to promote academic sharing and exchange of technical know-how among dental professionals. The scientific program will feature a galaxy of world renowned speakers, and a Gala dinner on the night of 21st October Aside from intellectual pursuits, the WDF is also an opportunity for dentists from different parts of the world to gather and to have fun. Finally, a visit to the Modern Dental Laboratory in Shenzhen will also be organised. I am sure you will be amazed by this world class production facility. 3 ALGEMENE INFORMATIE PROGRAMMA WORLD DENTAL FORUM Op woensdag 23 oktober zal het programma van het World Dental Forum van 9.00 uur tot uur zijn, waarna er om uur een galadiner is voor alle deelnemers en hun partner. De lezingen duren veertig minuten per spreker, waarna er tien minuten de gelegenheid is om vragen te stellen. Op donderdag 24 oktober is het programma van 9.00 uur tot uur. Gedurende deze anderhalve dag zult u in totaal van dertien verschillende sprekers lezingen krijgen. Meer informatie over de sprekers en de inhoud van hun lezingen kunt u vinden op de volgende pagina. ALGEMENE INFORMATIE De sprekers zullen de lezingen in het Engels geven. Voor de Frans- en Duitstaligen zijn er vertalers aanwezig en is het mogelijk om in de eigen taal de cursus te volgen. Voor het World Dental Forum worden KRT- punten aangevraagd. Gezien de lengte van het congres verwachten wij dat er zes punten toegekend zullen worden. De registratie van het congres gebeurt automatisch als u zich inschrijft voor het gehele nascholingsprogramma. Indien uw partner de nascholing wel wil volgen dient u dit aan te geven op het boekingsformulier. Op woensdagavond is er voor alle congresdeelnemers en hun partner een gala. 4 FACULTY PROF. DR. JIAN GUO TAN CHINA Prof. Dr. Jian Guo Tan is active in numerous professional organizations. He is the Deputy Director of Department of Continuing Education of the Chinese Stomatology Association, a Standing Committee Member of Chinese Prosthodontic Society, an active member of American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics, and a member of IADR. Besides this, he is an editorial board member of Chinese Journal of Stomatology Continuing Education and the Chinese Journal of Practical Stomatology. Dr. Tan graduated from Shandong Medical University with a bachelor degree in dentistry, in In 1994 he received his doctorate degree from School of Stomatology, Beijing Medical University. Dr. Tan s research interests are dental esthetic rehabilitation, dentin bonding and oral biomechanics. Esthetic and functional rehabilitation of severely worn dentition This presentation covers the etiology of tooth wear, the interdisciplinary treatment plan and the occlusal scheme design of esthetic and functional rehabilitation in severely worn dentition. This presentation will also explain how to determine the vertical dimension and how to harmonize the esthetics with function.

LIM KWONG CHEUNG CHINA Professor Cheung Lim Kwong is a specialist in oral and maxillofacial surgery and the honorary clinical professor of the Faculty of Dentistry, The University of Hong Kong. Main clinical and research interest is on surgical correction of maxillofacial deformities, obstructive sleep apnea and rehabilitation of atrophic jaws with dental implants. Computer planning and guided dental implant surgery DR. ANDREW DILLON AUSTRALIA Dr. Andrew Dillon completed his Dental Degree from Melbourne University in He has devoted the last 20 years developing one of Australia s leading practices in advanced oral rehabilitative care. He has special interests in biomimetic dentistry, smile design and aesthetic dentistry. The Imperfectly Perfect Smile Nature seems to create beautiful smiles effortlessly. So why do we have so much trouble constructing them? What elements are important in making up a beautiful smile and how much latitude do we have when designing new smiles in an imperfect world? 6 MR. RUSSELL R. YOUNG AUSTRALIA Mr. Russell R. Young graduated as a Dux of Applied Science of Dental Technology. He is also a qualified Dental Prosthetist and combines clinical knowledge and artistry with his vast experience as a Master Dental Ceramist. His main areas of interest and passion are Digital Smile Design, Implant Design and Aesthetics, clinical and laboratory co-ordination and communication along with the All-on-4 Concept. NELSON RFA SILVA BRASIL Professor Dr. Nelson RFA Silva is Head of the Department of Restorative Dentistry at Federal University of Minas Gerais / School of Dentistry (UFMG/FO). His clinical and research field of interest involves translational research, laboratorial and clinical aspects for the success of esthetic restorations and implants using CAD/CAM as well as development of atmosphere pressure plasmas for dentistry.

7 FACULTY Optimized Biomaterials for Digital Dental Applications This presentation will address the importance of the development of optimized biomaterials for dentistry and how it influences the treatment decision for simple and complex cases focusing on digital dental technology. The development of these materials has led us to explore other treatment work-flow modalities that associates milling and printing concepts using ceramics, polymers, wax and/or metals. PROF. DR. PETER REINHARD POSPIECH GERMANY Professor Dr. Peter Pospiech is Co-Chair of the Department of Prosthetic Dentistry at Wuerzburg University, Germany. He was involved in clinical research on all-ceramic restorations, partial dentures, resin cements, adhesive bridges, CAD/CAM for dental ceramics, ceramics in implantology and impression materials. Think ceramics! Zirconia as a universal material? Fifteen years ago zirconia was introduced into the dental market for veneered C&B frameworks. As a solution for chipping of the veneered porcelain, monolithic zirconia was introduced. The improvements in strength, processing and translucency have led to the situation that the monolithic material now even can be used in visible areas as a solution for cases with less esthetic demands. The lecture gives an overview over the state-of-the-art, especially in concern to antagonistic wear, longevity and the use of the material for telescopic dentures. ELYSEE DENTAL 8-9

LIEVEN BARBIER BELGIUM Dr. Lieven Barbier, prosthodontist, is clinical instructor at the department of prosthetics (University of Leuven) and at the training center for dental students at Sint-Jan Hospital (as part from University of Leuven). He did clinical research on different aspects of immediate loading in upper- and lower jaws since Clinical interest in the prosthetic treatment of agenesis and the oncologic patients. MR. JOZEF LUDOVIC BECKERS BELGIUM Mr. Jozef Ludovic Beckers started in 1975 as a master dental technician. From 1977 till 1980 he has been working in 11 different labs and in 6 different countries but mainly in Germany. In 1980 he founded his own lab Uni-Dent in Leuven. In 1994 a co-operation was started with the Catholic University Leuven. In 2011 Uni-Dent became part of the Elysee Dental Group. Unique full-arch immediate loading protocol in fresh extraction sockets or in the severe atrophic maxilla. A unique immediate loading protocol is presented, which guaranties a fixed prosthesis in any type of patient, both in a terminal dentition situation as in case of severe atrophic jawbone. Only an unequalled collaboration between the prosthodontist, the surgeon and the dental technician can lead to a predictable clinical outcome in these complex cases.

9 FACULTY PROF. DR. DANIEL WISMEIJER THE NETHERLANDS Professor Daniel Wismeijer was graduated in dentistry at the University of Nijmegen in Nijmegen. In 1985 he started a general dental practice which since 1990 is a referral practice for oral implantology. He is an ITI fellow since In 2006 he accepted the position of Professor of Oral Implantology and Prosthetic Dentistry at ACTA Amsterdam, the Netherlands which he combines with his referral practice. Digital Dentistry; Where is this taking us? Digitalization of the dental workflow is becoming more and more mature. Although we are still confronted with digital Islands in an analogue sea, the quality aspects of the digitalized treatment approach are becoming more and more apparent. Dental laboratories are already up and running with computer aided designing of crown and bridge work and frame works for removable dentures as well as computer aided milling and printing of these appliances. DR. CURTIS E. JANSEN USA Dr. Curtis E. Jansen completed his D.D.S. degree as well as his prosthodontic education at the University of Southern California School of Dentistry. Dr. Jansen has an extensive past involving research and design in implant dentistry. He has a number of patents for implant restorative components, some of which are being used by major manufactures through out the world. From Preliminary Impression to Restoration, How Digital Work Flows are Increasing Practice Efficiency, Decreasing Chair Time, and are Creating a Better Patient Experience. ELYSEE DENTAL 10-11

10 Digital workflows are changing the way we practice dentistry and can help you be more productive. Add Computer Aided Design (CAD), Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) and / or Cone Beam Computer Tomography (CBCT) with the Intra Oral Scanning (IOS) and introduce digital workflows to procure restorations diagnosis and treatment plan implant patients and wow hygiene patients with extra-oral bitewings. This lecture will review the status quo of the new digital highway (IOS, CAD/CAM, CBCT, office software) and show you why you may want to jump on. DR. KEN MALAMENT USA Dr. Ken Malament received his D.D.S. from N.Y.U. College of Dentistry and a specialty certificate and Master s degree from Boston University School of Graduate Dentistry. Dr. Malament has been the recipient of significant awards in Prosthodontics including the American College of Prosthodontists Clinician / Researcher Award, Daniel F. Gordon Award for Lifetime Achievement and Distinguished Lecturer Award, the American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics George Moulton Award for Outstanding Achievement and the first Frank V. Celenza Memorial Award from the Northeastern Gnathological Society. Integration of Esthetic Dentistry and Prosthodontics Ceramics are the most consistently predictable esthetic dental material. Single phase or monolithic all-ceramic materials have become increasingly more popular and have become the state of the art in single unit complete or partial restorations. In clinical use they have not demonstrated the chipping problem that often can occur with all bi-layered

11 FACULTY ceramic materials. Since all-ceramic dental ceramic materials open the future to CAD CAM industrial processing they will dominate the market and future developments bring with it more long-term success. By understanding methods to manage simple and complex restorative issues patient acceptance can be improved and long term success can be improved. Methods are discussed to integrate the efforts of laboratory technologists and managing occlusion and patient s desires. DR. ALLEN MOSES USA Dr. Moses is private practioner with a special interest, expertise and board certification in the diagnosis and treatment of craniofacial pain, temporomandibular disorders and oral appliances for controlling snoring and sleep apnea. He holds a faculty appointment as an assistant professor at Rush University College of Medicine in the Department of Sleep Disorders and is the dental consultant in the Department of Sleep Disorders/Neurology at Northwestern Memorial Hospital Medical School where he teaches, does research and designs oral appliances for sleep apnea and snoring. He is the inventor of The Moses appliance and co-inventor of The Moses Bite Shims. DR. STEFEN KOUBI FRANCE Dr. Stefen Koubi is the founder of L'institut de la facette, a private training centre established in 2013 which mainly focuses on laminate veneer restorations and the minimally invasive rehabilitation of worn dentitions. 12 SOCIAAL PROGRAMMA HONG KONG Hong Kong is een stad van tegenstellingen. Een stad met enorme verschillen tussen arm en rijk. Een stad waar enerzijds hectiek heerst, maar waar ook zoveel mooie rustpunten zijn. Een plek waar moderne winkelcentra met luxe merken afgewisseld worden door soms aandoenlijke marktkraampjes. Als je een straat inloopt weet je nooit welke geur je tegemoet gaat komen. Wie van de Chinese keuken houdt zal de hele dag te maken hebben met geprikkelde zintuigen. Anderzijds kan iemand die geen zin heeft in Aziatisch eten daar best wel aan ontsnappen. Hong Kong heeft een eigen invulling gegeven aan kapitalisme en het leven in een moderne welvaartsstaat. De voormalige Britse kolonie heeft een mix van Chinese cultuur met veel westerse aspecten. Hong Kong moet je een keer in je leven gezien hebben!

13 SOCIAAL PROGRAMMA SHENZHEN Na uw aankomst op de luchthaven van Hong Kong staan bussen klaar om u direct te vervoeren naar de Chinese stad Shenzhen waar onze reis begint. Miljoenenstad Shenzhen is gelegen aan de grens met Hongkong in de provincie Guangdong, in het zuiden van China. Hoewel Shenzhen vooral bekend is om zijn vele Chinese industrie welke daar gevestigd is, heeft het ook vele bezienswaardigheden die zeker de moeite waard zijn om te zien. Vanaf de luchthaven rijden we richting Shenzhen. Met de gehele groep gaan we gezamenlijk door de Visumcontrole (visum wordt voor u geregeld) bij de grensovergang. Vervolgens gaan wij direct door naar de eerste excursie van de reis. We bezoeken Dafen Oil Paintings Village (zie Excursies voor meer informatie). Dit om u een artistiek beeld van China te geven, maar ook om de moeilijke uurtjes van een eventuele jetlag tegen te gaan. ELYSEE DENTAL 14-15

14 VLUCHT De Nederlandse en Belgische groep vliegt op zaterdag 17 oktober met de KLM-vlucht van uur rechtstreeks naar Hong Kong. De rechtstreekse terugvlucht is gepland op zaterdag 24 oktober om uur vanuit Hong Kong, waardoor u op dezelfde dag s avonds landt op Schiphol. WELKOMSTDINER Op het congres zullen deelnemers aanwezig zijn die een relatie hebben met de diverse laboratoria die onderdeel zijn van de wereldwijde Modern Dental Group. De Europese vestigingen van Elysee Dental Nederland, België, Scandinavië en Permadental/Semperdent Duitsland zullen deel uit maken van de gecombineerde congresreis. 15 SOCIAAL PROGRAMMA BEZOEK MODERN DENTAL LABORATORY Voor enkele deelnemers van onze vorige reizen was dit het hoogtepunt van de reis. Nergens ter wereld vind je een tandtechnisch laboratorium van dit formaat. Gedurende ons bezoek aan het lab krijgt u een rondleiding waarbij u een indruk krijgt van de efficiency en de manier van werken met grote hoeveelheden tandtechnische werkstukken. 16 Vlucht ACCOMMODATIE IN SHENZHEN In Shenzhen verblijven we in het luxe viersterrenhotel The Venice, dat zeer centraal gelegen is. Hoewel de vrije tijd in Shenzhen beperkt is vindt u wellicht ergens de mogelijkheid voor een verfrissende duik in het zwembad of een behandeling in de Spa. Wilt u alvast wat inkopen doen? 20 EXCURSIES SHENZHEN Direct van de luchthaven maken we met de gehele groep een excursie naar Dafen Oil Painting Village. In de vroege jaren negentig nam een groep van ongeveer twintig kunstenaars, onder leiding van schilder en zakenman Huang Jiang, intrek in deze stad. Deze kunstenaars waren gespecialiseerd in het maken van grote aantallen replica s van olieverfschilderijen door meesters zoals Van Gogh, Dali, Da Vinci en Rembrandt. Dit was zo succesvol dat het dorp inmiddels bewoond wordt door duizenden kunstenaars die verantwoordelijk zijn voor zestig procent van de replica s die in de wereld te vinden zijn. Het dorp verkoopt momenteel zowel replica s als origineel tegen een zeer gunstige prijs. HONG KONG Op dinsdag organiseren we in Hong Kong drie verschillende excursies. U kunt zelf een keuze maken uit één van deze excursies en dit doorgeven bij uw boeking. Bij de excursies zit ook een diner welke u alleen met de groep, waarmee u de excursie heeft gevolgd nuttigt.

21 EXCURSIES LANTAU ONTDEKKINGSTOUR NGONG PING KABELBAAN verbindt Tung Chung en Ngong Ping. Tijdens de rit van 5,7 km heeft u een spectaculair 360 graden panoramisch uitzicht over Hong Kong International Airport, North Lantau Country Park, de Zuid-Chinese Zee en Giant Boeddha. PO LIN-KLOOSTER/GIANT BOEDDHA staat bekend als het boeddhistische Koninkrijk in het zuiden. Po Lin Monastery is de meest populaire boeddhistische tempel in Hong Kong en heeft één van de grootste buiten zittende boeddhabeelden. Het Po Lin Monastery is een bedevaartsplaats en wordt bezocht door boeddhisten vanuit de hele wereld. VEGETARISCHE LUNCH BIJ PO LIN MONASTERY. Bij de Po Lin Monastery wordt u een Chinese vegetarische lunch geserveerd. Po Lin Monastery is in Hong Kong beroemd om zijn hoge kwaliteit van de boeddhistische, vegetarische keuken. 22 TAI O VISSERSDORP, ook wel bekend als het Venetië van het Oosten was ooit een dorp met de meeste inwoners op Lantau Island. Het dorp heeft nog steeds huizen aan het waterfont en biedt een glimp van het verleden van Hong Kong en een opvallend contrast met de moderne stad. DE PAALWONINGEN. Een bootreis rondom een oud vissersplaatsje is inbegrepen bij deze tour. Een hoogtepunt van deze bootreis zijn de huizen die op palen gebouwd zijn in het water. EXCURSIE NAAR MACAU NA TCHA TEMPEL. Deze in Chinese traditionele stijl gebouwde tempel werd gebouwd voor het aanbidden van NB Tcha (een mythisch karakter). Deze tempel is in 2005 werelderfgoed geworden. DEEL VAN DE OUDE STADSMUREN. Dit overgebleven deel van de stadsmuur is gebouwd in Het is een overblijfsel van een vroege Portugese traditie waar defensieve muren rond hun nederzettingen gebouwd werden. In 2005 is het werelderfgoed geworden.

23 EXCURSIES MUSEUM VAN MACAU: Het Museum van Macau toont u de geschiedenis van Macau de bevolking en cultuur met nadruk op de diversiteit aan culturen van deze plaats. MOUNT FORT: Was het belangrijkste militaire verdedigingsonderdeel wat werd gebouwd in samenwerking met de Jezuïeten van Het fort heeft een oppervlakte van vierkante meter en is gebouwd in de vorm van een trapezium. In 2005 is het Werelderfgoed geworden. A-MA TEMPEL werd 400 jaar geleden gebouwd als eerbetoon aan een meisje die het leven van verschillende zeemannen heeft gered. Deze tempel is in 2005 werelderfgoed geworden. MACAU TOREN. Op een adembenemende 223 meter boven de grond, biedt Macau Tower u verschillende uitzichten over de hele stad. U heeft zicht op de Cotai Strip, de Macau-monumenten en historische plekken. Macau Tower biedt de beste weergave van Macau en is bekroond als Beste thema attractie in Azië-Pacific voor 2005 & Heeft u hoogtevrees? Dan kunt u op de begane grond inkopen doen bij de souvernirswinkel of een gokje wagen in het casino. ELYSEE DENTAL 24-25

24 HONG KONG ISLAND TOUR MET LUNCH MAN MO TEMPEL. De Man Mo tempel is in 1847 gebouwd als eerbetoon aan de goden. De tempel is opmerkelijk door zijn fijne, goed gepolijste messing en zijn tinnen wierookbranders. PEAK TRAM. Een geweldige ervaring tijdens deze tour is de rit met de 125 jaar oude en 373 meter tellende Peak tram voor een bezoek aan Victoria Peak. Na een stijle rit naar boven heeft u een prachtig uitzicht over Hong Kong. DE SKY TERRACE 428. Gesitueerd op 428 meter boven de zeespiegel, is The Sky Terrace het hoogste uitkijkplatform in Hong Kong.
