47 Fraude internetbankieren daalt sterk 13 mei 2014 Fraudeurs maken minder slachtoffers en minder buit Samen sterk tegen internetfraudeurs In de eerste drie maanden van 2014 vonden er 106 gevallen van fraude met internetbankieren plaats. In totaal werd hierbij euro gestolen. Tegenover vorig jaar betreft dit een forse daling. In het eerste kwartaal van 2013 waren er nog 473 (effectieve) fraudepogingen met een totale schade van 1,27 miljoen euro. Het samengaan van verschillende factoren en de inzet van alle betrokkenen kunnen deze daling verklaren. Zo heeft het onderzoek van het Parket onlangs geleid tot de arrestatie van verschillende verdachten van fraude met internetbankieren, zowel in België als in Nederland. Ook is er de verhoogde waakzaamheid van de eindgebruikers die bewuster omgaan met de beveiliging van hun computer en met de bescherming van hun persoonlijke gegevens en codes. Febelfin, de banken en de betrokken overheden stimuleren dit bewustzijn reeds langere tijd via verschillende kanalen en campagnes en zullen dit ook blijven doen in de toekomst. Febelfin blijft benadrukken dat het belangrijk is om bewust om te gaan met internetbankieren, om nooit persoonlijke gegevens en codes door te geven aan anderen en om gebruik te maken van een beveiligde computer.
