In the folder Announcements two files are given: The conversion of the table of contents and the conversion of the numbers of the exercises from the third edition to the fourth edition. However, we advice to make a copy of the exercises of Edition 4. The answers of the exercises of the fourth edition will be given in studyweb. This test is part of the exam. You will get a data set which has to be analyzed with the methods of Chapter 11. This test can be done at home. Information will be given. For this test you can get 0, 0.5, 1, 1.5 or 2 points. This test is 20% of the exam with a restriction. See the following Mark (eindcijfer) for this course: let v be the mark for the test on chapter 6. So v = 0, 0.5, 1, 1.5 or 2. Let x be the mark in TWO DIGITS for the written exam 1 x 10. So the mark can be 4.9. To pass this exam one needs at least a mark for the written exam of 5.0. The mark for the course is { 0.8 x + v if x 5, Mark = Minimum{5, 0.8 x + v} if x < 5. 1

2 Written Exam TENTAMENSTOF. Opmerking: om met name de gedeelten uit hoofdstuk 4, 5 en 8 te snappen, is natuurlijk ook wel kennis van het voorafgaande nodig. De tentamenstof bestaat uit de hoofdstukken: Hfdstk t/m Hfdstk , 5-1.6, 5-2, 5-3. Hfdstk en 8-5. Hfdstk 9 (behalve 9-3.3, 9-4.2). Hfdstk 10 (behalve het gedeelte over characteristic curves in , maar wel dus formule (10-5) en (10-6); en behalve , , ). Hfdstk 11. Hfdstk 12 (behalve ; van wel het stukje in de collegeslides en uit het boek wel het gedeelte vanaf stepwise regression; van wel het stukje in de collegeslides). There is a written exam of 3 hours. The exam consists of 20 questions. The exam consists of two parts: a common part and a Premaster part/part Doorstroomminor HBO. All students have to do the Common part. HBO-students, who want to do the minor Academic orientation, only have to do this Common part. All other students have to do also the Premaster/Part Doorstroomminor part. HBO-minor students who make both parts, will get two marks, one for the first part and one for the entire exam. It is allowed to use a BLANK (so without any notes in it) Statistical Compendium and a (graphical) pocket calculator. Statgraphics Use will be made of Statgraphics. The goal is to learn how to use a statistical software package and to use it for the methods discussed in this course. At the exam output of Statgraphics might be given.
