2 NORMCOMMISSIE NEN Elektro & ICT Postbus GB Delft Vlinderweg AX Delft T ep@nen.nl Nederlands Normalisatie-instituut 1 Algemene gegevens 1.1 Commissie van huishoudelijke en soortgelijke elektrische 1.2 Werkgebied Het begeleiden van de internationale normalisatie in mondiale en Europese normalisatiecommissies op het gebied van gebruikseigenschappen van huishoudelijke en soortgelijke elektrische toestellen. NEC 59 treedt op als schaduwcommissie voor IEC/TC 59 en subcommissies en voor CLC/TC 59X. Voor de volledigheid hier taak en werkgebied van deze commissies: IEC/TC 59: Performance of household and similar electrical appliances To prepare International Standards on methods of measurement of characteristics which are of importance to determine the performance of electrical appliances for household use or of electrical appliances for commercial use and that are of interest for the user. This may include associated aspects related to the use of the appliances and aspects such as the classification, accessibility and usability of appliances, ergonomic characteristics and conditions for the information provided at the point of sale. Note 1 Appliances for household use designates equipment intended for housekeeping functions such as washing, cleaning, heating, cooling, cooking, etc and appliances intended for use in the home environment such as shavers, hair care appliances, food preparation appliances, etc. Appliances for household use cover use by non expert users in similar conditions as in households, for example: in shops, offices or other similar work environments; in farm houses; by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments; in bed and breakfast type environments. are also considered as household appliances

3 3/10 Note 2 Appliances for commercial use designates equipment to be used by persons that have been trained on the use of such appliances and appliances and machines which are declared to be for commercial use by laypersons. Note 3 Appliances for industrial use are not covered by the standards prepared by TC59 Note 4 TC59 does not deal with appliances which are already explicitly covered by the scope of other IEC or ISO TCs. IEC/SC 59A: Electric dishwashers To prepare international standards on performance measurement methods for electric dishwashers. IEC/SC 59C: Heating appliances To prepare international standards on performance measurement methods for heating appliances. IEC/SC 59D: Performance of household and similar electrical laundry appliances To prepare International Standards on performance measurement methods for household and similar electrical laundry appliances including products that may use additional sources of energy (e.g. gas, steam, heated water) for some functions IEC/SC 59F: Surface cleaning appliances To prepare international standards on performance measurement methods for appliances for surface cleaning of floors, walls, ceilings, etc.including their covering such as carpets, as well as fixed and movable furniture or similar installations. IEC/SC 59K: Performance of household and similar electrical cooking appliances To prepare international standards on performance measurement methods for ovens, microwave ovens, steam ovens, cooking ranges, hobs, cooking fumes extractors and similar appliances. IEC/SC 59L: Small household appliances Standardisation of performance measurement of small household appliances and similar electrical appliances except surface cleaning appliances. Examples of appliances covered by SC 59L are small kitchen appliances (kettles, jugs, food preparation appl. etc) and all kinds of household ironing appliances, bodycare appliances, fans.

4 4/10 IEC/SC 59M: Performance of electrical household and similar cooling and freezing appliances Standardization in the field of performance of electrical household and similar cooling and freezing appliances such as refrigerators, frozen-food storage cabinets and food freezers. To elaborate characteristics and test methods for performance, environmental issues and accessibility. This includes specifying the essential characteristics for commercial refrigerating appliances cooled by internal natural convection or forced air circulation, which are factory assembled, laying down the methods of test for the checking of these characteristics. CLC/TC 59X: Performance of household and similar electrical appliances To prepare European Standards on methods of measurement of characteristics which are of importance to determine the performance of electrical appliances for household use or of electrical appliances for commercial use and that are of interest for the user. This may include associated aspects related to the use of the appliances and aspects such as the classification, accessibility and usability of appliances, ergonomic characteristics and conditions for the information provided at the point of sale. The standards are developed in order to suit the needs of EU Regulations and Directives and in the context of the European market. Janssen 7 Evaluatie en voortgangsrapportage 7.1 Evaluatie over 2014 Inventum Huishoudelijke Apparaten is in 2014 als nieuw lid toegetreden in de persoon van de heer Henderson. Blokker had ook interesse maar heeft uiteindelijk afgehaakt.. Er zal een hernieuwde poging worden ondernomen om de Consumentenbond bij het werk van NEC 59 te betrekken. Internationaal zijn er veel wijzigingen geweest in de voorzitterschappen van IEC/TC 59 en enkele van de subcommissies en voor 2015 zitten er ook nog een aantal in het verschiet. Het Technisch Rapport CLC-TR50619:2014 Guidance on how to conduct Round Robin Tests, was door Cenelec aangeboden aan IEC en zal door IEC worden overgenomen met enkele kleine wijzigingen. Een ander New Work Item Laundry appliances for commercial use - Methods of measuring the performance aangeboden door Cenelec is door IEC/SC59D in het werkprogtramma opgenomen. Op het gebied van Accessability en Useability is in augustus een draft DTS (59/618e/DTS) verschenen voor toasters. Vanuit andere subcommissies is geen

9 9/10 voorstel aangedragen voor nieuwe projecten voor accessability. Als dat zo blijft zal het volgende project gaan over coffee machines. In ISO/TC159/SC4 is een nieuw project gestart genaamd Accessibility of the door and handle of the electronic home appliances. Op voorstel van SC59L zal getracht worden huishoudelijke elektrische apparaten uit de scope van ISO/TC159/SC4 te krijgen en medewerking te vragen om in het project van IEC TC 59/WG11 op dit gebied deel te nemen. Er is veel discussie geweest over de aansluiting van huishoudelijke apparaten op een smart grid en de interactie tussen de apparaten. Chinese fabrikanten zitten met smart te wachten op een norm hiervoor.china heeft voorgesteld om het werk wat nu in WG15 wordt uitgevoerd over te hevelen naar een nieuw op te richten Subcommissie. Er zal een aparte vergadering hierover worden belegd in Frankfurt in het eerste kwartaal van Op voorstel van Japan komt er in SC59L een nieuwe werkgroep Performance of Toilet spray seats SC59D heeft zijn titel en scope uitgebreid. Met producten die voor sommige functies andere energiebronnen (bijvoorbeeld gas, stoom, heet water) gebruiken. Ook SC 59L heeft hierin verandering gebracht en heet nu "Standardisation of performance measurement of small household appliances except surface cleaning appliances".
