1 Oproepen en aankondigingen Start nieuwe intervisiegroepen van Kwalitatief Sterk in 2007 Ben jij een beginnende kwalitatieve onderzoeker? Of heb je al wat ervaring maar zit je af en toe met methodologische vragen? Dan ben je misschien op zoek naar wat ondersteuning of een klankbord? Wel, in 2007 start Kwalitatief Sterk opnieuw met twee intervisiegroepen omtrent kwalitatief onderzoek in Antwerpen en Gent. Wat is begeleide intervisie? Intervisie is een leermiddel waarbij collega s elkaar adviseren met betrekking tot onderzoeksproblemen. In het kader van kwalitatief onderzoek kan dit gaan over het uitwerken van een onderzoeksopzet en over het coderen, interpreteren en het rapporteren van kwalitatief onderzoek. Ook de rol en invloed van de kwalitatieve onderzoeker, de moeilijkheden bij het keuzeproces van de goede onderzoeksmethode, de selectie van respondenten, het wel en wee van focusgroepen en het gebruik van kwalitatieve software kunnen aan bod komen. De inhoud van de bijeenkomsten wordt immers bepaald door de inbreng van de deelnemers. De intervisiegroepen kennen een diverse samenstelling voor wat betreft ervaringen met het kwalitatief onderzoek, organisatiesoort (universiteit, hogeschool, onderzoeksinstelling, middenveldorganisatie) en onderzoeksdomein. Het doel van de intervisiegroepen is het uitwisselen van methodologische kennis en ervaring. Ook mensen die momenteel niet concreet betrokken zijn bij een kwalitatief onderzoeksproject kunnen zich inschrijven voor de intervisiegroep, zo lang zij enige ervaring hebben met kwalitatief onderzoek en actief wensen te participeren aan de intervisiegroepen. 2 iiqm Dissertation Award The International Institute for Qualitative Methodology (iiqm), at the University of Alberta, will annually make an award to the best doctoral dissertation, from any academic discipline, containing research based on qualitative methodology. Dissertations must have been successfully defended within 18 months of the award s submission deadline in order to be considered. Please Note: As the next conference in Alberta will be held only in September 2007, we will accept dissertations successfully defended within the 24 months prior the award submission deadline, which is April 30, The initial screening of the dissertation will be completed by a panel of judges from the University of Alberta. Final selection of the winning dissertation will be made by an international panel of experts in qualitative research methods, appointed annually. Complimentary registration at the conference where the award is to be presented. 2. Presentation of major findings at the conference as an in-conference keynote address. 3. 4 Qualitative Analysis of Visual Data Call for papers/ call for participation Workshop on Visual Methods Berlin, September 17-20th 2007 tu Berlin Institut für Soziologie Franklinstr. 28/ Berlin As part of the esf-programme euroqual (Qualitative Research in Europe) the workshop on Qualitative Analysis of Visual Data is devoted to the Qualitative Methods of Visual Analysis on the Social Sciences. It aims particularly at developing and sustaining excellence of research in this field within Europe. The topics of the Workshop will encompass particularly: Photo-Analysis. Video-analysis. General questions of visual analysis. There will be a number of renowned scholars of visual studies present at the workshop, such as Marcus Banks, Ralf Bohnsack, Charles Goodwin, John Grady, Christian Heath, Doug Harper, Jerzy Kazmarek, Lorenza Mondada, Anssi Peräklyä, Sarah Pink, Gillian Rose, Hans-Georg Soeffner and Tanya Stivers. In addition, we ll invite speakers and participants: The call for paper addresses European scholars in the Social Sciences who work on qualitative visual data and who are interested in questions of method. Travel and accommodation will be covered by the organisers. The call for participation addresses Students, particularly on the PhD/ Dr.-level working with visual data and interested in participating at the Workshop and at a one day training session on September 20th in two fields of video analysis (by Ch. Goodwin and Ch. Heath) and photo analysis (D. Harper, H.-G. Soeffner). Travel and accommodation will be covered by the organisers.
