A 75). Somewhere before 1893 the painting was transformed into an oval shape. After 1923 the new owner of the painting had it made into a rectangle again by inlaying the painting into an old panel. At first the parts of this newly added panel were painted black. During a restoration in 1999 the black paint was removed making the underlying painted surface visible (Rutgers/Rijnders 2014, p ). This painting was recently identified as a painting by a follower of Marten van Cleve I (Weber 2011, p. 73).
