9 Biopsychosocial rehabilitation TREATING ANXIETY AND DEPRESSION Give information,explain misconceptions and discuss with patient to try to change them to better understanding Teach relaxation and stress management Use goal setting and pacing to get patients back to abandoned pleasurable activities - (systematic desensitisation) If anxious or depressed at a clinical level refer to a clinical psychologist for cognitive therapy, or, if no psychologist treat with drugs Biopsychosociale rehabilitatie Geef patiënten een gevoel van controle over de ziekte explain lifestyle change, and secondary prevention, stress ability of patient to get control over the illness. Zelf-efficaciteit efficaciteit van patiënten opbouwen. Door: - Leren bronnen van uitdaging te identificeren,, de bedreiging ervan te reduceren en nieuwe copingmechanismen te ontwikkelen (bvb bij hartpatiënten: : de vijandige en tijdsdruk- inducerende coping aanpakken). Bemoedig, beloon voor goede coping patient keeps record of progress, review it with patient and praise compliance with programme if appropriate involve family, ask them to praise coping efforts
