1 CURRICULUM VITAE Peter Roosenboom is a leading expert in entrepreneurial finance and private equity. He has been an invited speaker at influential conferences and seminars in the private equity industry and has advised the Dutch government on private equity and the financing of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). His advice has been the cornerstone of several changes in government policy recently. He is also well-connected to the private equity industry at the European level as a member of the Independent Governing Body of the Private Equity Research Exchange Platform (PEREP; established by the European Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (EVCA). He is also a member of the Advisory Board of Equidam ( a company specialized in the valuation of start-up businesses. Recently he has also been invited to join the Advisory Board of MKB Multifonds ( a fund-of-funds investing in private equity funds targeted towards Dutch SMEs. His research is interdisciplinary in nature and has been published in finance, accounting and management journals. He is a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Banking & Finance and Multinational Finance Journal. His research has been widely covered in the print media and magazines. This paper been the cornerstone of the final report of the Committee de Swaan advising the Dutch government on corporate finance policy. The report has been covered in the media (a.o., Nieuwsuur (TV news program); "Financiering Starters Stuit op Structurele Problemen", Het Financieele Dagblad, 21 juni 2011). It has 10

11 also setup of the Hollands Glorie Master Fund (HGMF) that will be listed on NYSE Euronext in 2011/2012 ("Hollands glorie", De Telegraaf, 6 juli 2011). The fund will attract money from public investors and provide financing to small and medium sized enterprises. The report also lead to a reduction in the registration fee that firms need to pay to the Chambers of Commerce by 10% ("Heffingen KvK volgend jaar 10 procent omlaag", De Telegraaf, 29 juni 2011).
