3 Foreword - Nemetschek Engineering User Contest The Nemetschek Engineering Contest 2009 received great feedback: more than 120 projects were submitted to the contest jury, proving their effectiveness in using one or more software solutions of the Nemetschek Engineering Group. The participants come from 14 countries all over Europe and the Middle East. The projects are built worldwide, e.g. in Australia, India, United Arab Emirates, Eastern and Western Europe. The projects assembled in this book illustrate the great engineering skills of our customers in a large variety constructions. tremendously even though higher constraints are imposed by new building codes and safety regulations. This is also possible thanks to the help of innovative tools, that engineers, detailers and fabricators are increasingly adopting. The Nemetschek software solutions cover the whole spectrum of structural engineering design and detailing: from member design and detailing up to 3D BIM (Building Information Modelling). The Nemetschek Engineering User Contest book illustrates the state-of-the-art, how structures are planned today. 8 The Nemetschek Engineering Group - The Engineering Nemetschek Freedom Engineering Group - Engineering Freedom With more than 20,000 customers, the Nemetschek Engineering Group is the largest vendor of structural engineering software in Europe. The group s software solutions cover all structural design and detailing requirements. The group is active in Europe, the Middle East and parts of Asia and offers solutions for all areas of structural engineering from CAD and structural analysis to logistics and project management. Engineering practice and engineering practices vary both in size and approach from country to country: from small independent consultants up to large multidisciplinary by engineers for engineers. This has resulted in innovations such as Round-Trip Engineering, here project data move seamlessly from one software product to another and back. Together the group focuses on precisely those issues that are causing a stir in the structural engineering sector: interoperability and open interfaces to products outside the group, the use of standard exchange formats, the synchronization of data between CAD and structural analysis software and Building Information Modelling for engineering applications. Besides, innovative software solutions are needed to cope with a variety of challenges: building codes are in a state of rapid transition (e.g. introduction of Eurocodes construction industry from 2D to 3D intelligent modelling. 20 1CAE Constructive Elements WINNER CSM nv Contact Ronny Loos Address Hamonterweg Hamont-Achel, Belgium Phone Website CSM nv is an engineering, fabricating, industrial painting and erecting company who provides a complete range of structural steelwork within Europe and in various parts of the world. CSM nv was founded in 1964 by Constant Schuurmans, who also gave the company its name: Constant Schuurmans Metaalwerken, short CSM. 1970, has been extended over the years with more and more new compartments (still recognizable by the range of roof constructions and colours) and with Hamont were built. The assembling, weld and paint activities were more and more moved from Achel to Hamont. In 1988 the tall hall was built in Hamont. This extension was necessary for fabricating and blasting/ painting heavier construction parts, and to make in Achel have been enlarged and embellished. Finally, in 1998, the second tall hall was built in Hamont, to specialize even more in roller coaster constructions. As in the beginning the scale of products was limited to the fabrication of fences, stairs and platforms in steel, the change into the design of industrial buildings and turnkey projects was quickly made. In 1980 CSM went abroad with beautiful projects in Germany, the Netherlands and even in Colombia, Cameroon, the United Arabian Emirates Germany and Great Britain. From 1994, the fabrication of tracks for roller coasters, giant wheels, WINNER Mad Houses was started. The machinery park has been continually adapted and modernised to the quality and quality control it went fast. Works. Vörösmarty no. 1 is situated in the heart of Budapest, at the city s most famous square, which is the gateway to the main pedestrian shopping street - Váci utca. The square regularly hosts cultural events and fairs, while several international hotel chains and Duna Korzó, the pedestrian walkway along the Danube is within walking distance. The listed monument building of the Vigadó opera House is adjacent to the building. Public transport access is excellent, with Deak Sq, with the only intersection of all three Metro lines, being a few minutes walk. There is also easy car access. On this place, an A-location near the Donau, a apartments, with three parking levels underneath, is built. The building consists of seven levels on top of the parking levels, which are: two for shops, three building is named after the public square Vörösmarty Tér in front of the building.
