2 INTERNATIONAL BOOKSHOP HET FORT VAN SJAKOO Jodenbreestraat 24, 1011 NK, Amsterdam, Nederland, tel.: , internet: Openingstijden: maandag-vrijdag: uur, zaterdag: uur. Al sinds november 1977 is het Fort van Sjakoo gevestigd aan de Jodenbreestraat 24. Dit pand werd in 1975 gekraakt uit protest tegen de sloop voor een kantoorpand. Het werd door de krakers bewoonbaar gemaakt en op de benedenverdieping werd een boekwinkel ingericht. Het verzet van de krakers was succesvol: het pand werd niet gesloopt. In de jaren tachtig kocht de gemeente het pand voor een habbekrats van een speculant en de bewoners en de boekwinkel werden huurders. Het Woningbedrijf Amsterdam was toen nog van de gemeente en kreeg zo het pand in haar bezit. Ondertussen wordt het Fort al 33 jaar vol enthousiasme draaiende gehouden door een wisselend collectief van vrijwillig(st)ers. Om principiële redenen heeft het Fort nooit afhankelijk willen zijn van overheidssubsidies of loonarbeid en tot op heden heeft het altijd kostendekkend weten te draaien. De doelstelling van het Fort is niet het maken van winst, maar het beschikbaar stellen van allerlei vormen van informatie die je elders niet zo snel vindt en het aanwakkeren van subversieve ideeën. De collectie van het Fort bestaat uit een breed scala aan radicaal linkse, maatschappijkritische, avant-gardistische, artistieke, opruiende, curieuze, milieuvriendelijke en anderszins belangwekkende publicaties waar je in de reguliere boekwinkel meestal vergeefs naar zoekt. Het vormt een distributiepunt voor allerlei in zelfbeheer uitgebrachte publicaties, muziek van kleine labels, T-shirts, opnaaiers enz. Mensen uit het hele land en ook uit de rest van de wereld komen er langs en vinden er niet zelden dingen waar ze elders tevergeefs naar hebben gezocht. Sinds eind januari 2004 is Het Fort van Sjakoo, na een heftige huurstrijd, eigenaar van de eigen winkelruimte geworden. Met de steun van mensen uit het hele land hebben we het pand kunnen aankopen. Hiermee is voor wat betreft de huur het voortbestaan van het Fort van Sjakoo voor onbepaalde tijd veiliggesteld. Uiteraard is de aankoop geen oplossing voor het probleem van de `gentrification van de Europese steden. Wij hebben ons probleem weten op te lossen, maar vele anderen kampen nog steeds met gelijksoortige problemen. Wij zullen dan ook anderen, waar wij kunnen, actief ondersteunen. Het assortiment bestaat uit tweedehands, nieuwe en antiquarische boeken, tijdschriften, t-shirts, speldjes, buttons, opnaaiers, kaartjes en muziek. Zoek je informatie over bijvoorbeeld globalisering, bio-industrie of de achtergronden van conflicten in de wereld, dan zit je goed bij Rosa. Zowel introducerende werken als diepgravend vervolgonderzoek is aanwezig. Rosa is een non-commerciële stichting met als doelstelling de bevordering van het politieke bewustzijn en de maatschappelijke betrokkenheid in Noord-Nederland. Daarnaast wil zij bijdragen aan de ontwikkeling van een gelijkwaardige maatschappij met een zelfbepaald leven. Een egalitaire samenleving komt niet vanzelf, en de strijd daarvoor begint bij bewustwording. De medewerkers bepalen gezamenlijk de koers en verdelen onderling de taken: ni dieu, ni maître! De boekberichten Zo n drie keer per jaar brengen de boekhandels Het Fort van Sjakoo uit Amsterdam en Rosa uit Groningen de `Boekberichten uit. Hierin worden nieuw verschenen boeken en voor het eerst in onze boekhandels voorhanden zijnde (al wat langer geleden uitgegeven) boeken kort inhoudelijk beschreven. Voor zover er een waardeoordeel over een besproken boek wordt gegeven komt dat voor rekening van de (anonieme) medewerker/medewerkster die deze bespreking vervaardigd/samengesteld heeft. But what did happen is that simple secretaries opened up the the mail and became severely wounded. Hundreds of corporate and government targets were attacked, plundered and set on fire. Although it was anarchists and anti-authoritarians who took the lead in this storm during the first week after the murder, it spread itself fast and many people got involved in this revolt against miserable living conditions, against the authorities and against the hopelessness offered by this world to the exploited and oppressed. But the revolt didn t cease at the end of 2008, neither did it start on the day of the murder. The attacks against the structures of State and Capital went on and spread to several smaller towns in Greece. About 180 fire attacks and, since a couple of months, artisan [ homemade ] bombing attacks were carried out under the name of Conspiracy of Cells of Fire. The attacks targeted banks, car dealers, shopping centres, governmental institutions, police stations, offices of political parties, houses of politicians, judges, criminologists, journalists, private security firms and companies building prisons, and always accompanied by elegantly critical and nihilistic claims of anarchist responsibility. The claims did not only criticize Capital, State and Authority (in all of their aspects), but also the resignation of the exploited, their herd mentality, their collaboration with the system. The Conspiracy of Cells of Fire (CCF) refuse to regard oppression and exploitation as simply being imposed by batons and blackmail, but understand it as a social relation in which all have their responsibility and make or don t make the choice to fight against it. In September 2009 extensive antiterror raids attempted to strike the CCF, these raids became one more political tool to attack the wider anarchist & antiauthoritarian movement, a situation which intensified when two members of the CCF were captured during an operation in November 2010, Athens. Against the ongoing legalistic kidnapping of our comrades and for the escalation of struggle for total liberation, the Conspiracy of Cells of Fire : Illegal Sector called for an informal global project based on anarchist subversion, direct action and international solidarity. These papers document some of the many communiques, letters and legal & court updates concerning the Conspiracy of Cells of Fire, the accused comrades of the same case, plus solidarity actions resulting from the call for a formation of an Informal Anarchist Federation / International Revolutionary Front. Whilst this publication can of course only offer a partial view upon the situation and topics, it is produced in the spirit of rebellion which fuels the total war against domination. It is an unfinished document that seeks collaboration through acts of refusal. The international call which has been circulated for the subversive formation of an International Revolutionary Front / Informal Anarchist Federation (Global), which is based on the principles of international solidarity, permanent subversion and constant conflict should be discussed, debated and acted upon without delay. Une analyse qui se développe en présentant une série de matériaux au travers desquels la révolte n apparaît pas simplement comme un mouvement insurrectionnel hostile à tout pouvoir constitué et aux formes organisées de révolution politique. La thèse est ici plus radicale : la révolte est un événement qui manifeste une inclination fondamentale de l existence humaine. Dans la perspective entrouverte par le lien entre la politique et l existence, et à l ombre d un démon classique de la philosophie (l ambition d intégrer la théorie et la praxis), La Révolte est né avec l intention de démontrer que les mouvements urbains capables d inquiéter le pouvoir global des dernières années (songeons aux révoltes de Los Angeles, Gênes, Athènes et en particulier à celles des banlieues parisiennes) ne sont pas, comme on le considère généralement, des formes violentes d antipolitique, mais qu elles constituent au contraire la sédimentation d un événement politique capable de provoquer la rupture des formes qui nous gouvernent. La centralité biopolitique que Pierandrea Amato attribue à la révolte ne signifie pas que celle-ci s oppose à la révolution. Elle la précède plutôt, et la dépasse. La révolte se place à un niveau différent de celui de la révolution, parce qu elle manifeste une image de la temporalité différente. Alors que la logique de la révolution se développe avec une conception linéaire du temps, la révolte exprime une temporalité liée à l événement, à l irruption du temps dans le temps. Cela amène une relation différente avec le pouvoir : si la révolution pense que l accès au pouvoir est le fondement de la transformation de la singularité, la révolte imagine au contraire que la mutation de la singularité dans l acte révoltant est le principe de la transformation de ce qu elle est. All the same I can understand someone who hates violence to the point of wanting to banish it from their life; someone who would never kill, would never use force in order to be heard; who, because of their character and aptitude, prefers not to have recourse to it. When nonviolence is presented as a method of struggle, a road to be followed, when individual ethics become morals and a collective project, it seems absolute nonsense to me, useful only to justify lack of action and an obstacle against those who rebel, an absolute value to impose on the weak to allow the strong to forget them in comfort. Niet eens zozeer het feit dat de ochtenden gevuld worden met vrij simpele en geestdodende activiteiten als het uitzoeken van klerenhangers, het vouwen van dozen en het verpakken van stickervellen. Dat is op zich algemeen bekend. En interessant werk bieden is, zo is altijd het argument, niet het doel van deze activiteiten. Het gaat er vooral om dat mensen weer werkritme opdoen en geactiveerd worden. Het onthutsende zit hem wat mij betreft in de trainingen en coaching en in het schijnbaar ontbreken van ieder plan. Het lijkt erop alsof de coaches bij 'Paradijs bv' volledig vrij zijn hun eigen hobby's uit te leven, zoals neurolinguïstisch programmeren. In de 13 weken dat schrijver Riccardo Alberelli 'in traject zit' komt bovendien de ene coach na de andere langs. Soms begint de training door een nieuwe coach of een gedeeltelijk nieuwe groep weer van voren af aan. Enig maatwerk ontbreekt, het maakt niet uit welke voorgeschiedenis of welk opleidingsniveau je hebt: iedereen krijgt hetzelfde werk en dezelfde training. Coaches komen voortdurend te laat op afspraken en passen roosters aan, terwijl van de deelnemers verwacht wordt dat ze overal op tijd zijn en zich netjes aan alle strakke regels houden. Echt door het ijs zakt de 'professionele' begeleiding bij het eindgesprek. Daar blijkt dat ze er drie maanden lang van uitgegaan zijn dat Alberelli in de daklozenopvang huist, terwijl hij 'gewoon' in een huis in de stad woont. We meet up online, tweet our reactions millions of times a day, connect through social networking rather than in person. Large portions of business and commerce have moved to the Web, and much of our critical infrastructure, including the electric power grid, is controlled online. This reliance on information systems leaves us highly exposed and vulnerable to cyberattack. Despite this, U.S. law enforcement and national security policy remain firmly focused on wiretapping and surveillance. But, as cybersecurity expert Susan Landau argues in `Surveillance or Security?, the old surveillance paradigms do not easily fit the new technologies. By embedding eavesdropping mechanisms into communication technology itself, we are building tools that could be turned against us. Such attacks have already happened.
