Apparu au Moyen Âge et désignant alors une "étoffe grossière" - le burel, le bureau devient le "tapis sur lequel on fait des comptes" début du quatorzième siècle. En 1361, apparait la "table elle-même où l on fait les comptes". À partir du 17ème siècle, le bureau se fera Mazarin, américain, cabinet, bureau de pente, secrétaire. Parallèlement, il en vient à désigner un local, voire une entreprise. Vertrek of geheel van vertrekken waar een koopman met zijn personeel administratieve werkzaamheden verricht. Een Mazarin bureau bestaat uit twee ladenblokken met daartussen ruimte voor de benen van de gebruiker. Vandaag duidt het woord, naast meubilair ook een lokaal of zelfs een onderneming aan. A place or establishment where regularly paid and more or less intellectual work is done, usually by a fixed timetable. The word bureau (or desk) first appeared in the Middle Ages and at the time meant raw cloth. As of the 14th century, it became the rug on which one did his bookkeeping and in 1361 it shifted to designate the table on which the bookkeeping was done itself. From the 17th century onward the desk will refer to furniture, named after Mazarin, which is a writing table similar to a modern desk, and the earliest predecessor of the pedestal desk. The pedestal desk appeared in England in the 18th century and became popular in the 19th and 20th. At the same time the word also denotes a certain place, or even an enterprise. 4

Marco Bronckers: En externe, nos bureaux devaient être représentatifs sans être ostentatoires. En interne, outre le coût-bénéfice, le plus important pour nous était de trouver un moyen de vivre ensemble. Les avocats sont solitaires et rien n est plus facile que de fermer la porte et s occuper de son dossier. Quels éléments ont contribué à rencontrer ces objectifs? MB: L escalier - un vrai tour de force -. Il invite à aller à la rencontre de nos collègues. La cuisine, la bibliothèque et les petits salons contribuent aussi à la communication interne. Plusieurs contraintes imposées par l immeuble ont été contournées avec succès Sylvie Grubb: Nous avons eu recours à un tapis anti-feu de catégorie 4, des cloisons vitrées et cloisons de placards coupe-feu, MB: Nous ne voulions pas de portes dans les couloirs et ce pari a été rencontré dans un lieu qui ne s y prêtait pas! L insonorisation était une de vos exigences centrales. Pourquoi? MB: Pour la concentration des gens mais aussi pour la confidentialité. Comment décririez-vous aujourd hui l atmosphère des lieux? MB: Même si les problèmes qu on traite sont parfois graves, nous profitons tous d une atmosphère légère, claire, positive et stimulante Global a-t-il remodelé certains aspects du projet tel que définit par LSM Architects and Associates? MB: Tout à fait. Le bois, le mobilier, la largeur des couloirs, etc. Global accorde une attention au moindre détail. Et si c était à refaire? SG: Sans hésitation. Tout le monde dit que c est le plus beau bureau de Wilmer dans le monde! 6 Waar hebben jullie op gelet bij de inrichting van de 18de en 19de verdiepingen van de Bastion Tower? Marco Bronckers: Onze kantoren moeten naar de buitenwereld toe representatief zijn zonder opzichtig te zijn. Intern gezien speelde naast het kostenplaatje vooral de leefbaarheid binnen het kantoor een belangrijke rol. Advocaten zijn eenzaten en niets zou eenvoudiger zijn dan gewoon de deur dicht te doen en je over je dossier te buigen. Wat heeft ertoe bijgedragen dat jullie die doelstellingen hebben waargemaakt? MB: De trap. Dat is echt een ongelooflijke prestatie. Hij nodigt collega s uit om elkaar op te zoeken. De keuken, bibliotheek en kleine salons helpen de interne communicatie ook vooruit. Het gebouw stelde een aantal beperkingen die jullie met succes uit de weg hebben geruimd... Sylvie Grubb: We hebben een anti-brandtapijt categorie 4 gelegd, glazen tussenwanden geplaatst en branddeuren en schotten... MB: We wilden geen deuren in de gangen en die uitdaging hebben we gerealiseerd... op een plaats die zich daar niet toe leende! Eén van jullie belangrijkste eisen was geluidsdemping. Waarom? MB: Om de concentratie van onze mensen te bevorderen, maar ook omwille van de vertrouwelijkheid. Hoe zou u de sfeer op kantoor vandaag omschrijven? MB: Ook al worden we soms geconfronteerd met ernstige zaken en problemen, we profiteren allemaal van de lichte, heldere, positieve en energieke sfeer... Heeft Global bepaalde aspecten van het project aangepast, zoals dat uitgetekend was door LSM Architects and Associates? MB: Inderdaad. Het hout, het meubilair, de breedte van de gangen, enz. Global heeft echt aandacht voor het kleinste detail. Wat als u het opnieuw zou moeten doen? SG: We zouden niet aarzelen. Iedereen zegt dat dit het mooiste Wilmer-kantoor ter wereld is! What were the main reasons for the refurbishment of the 18th and 19th floors of the Bastion Tower? Marco Bronckers: Firstly our offices had to be representative to the outside world without being conspicuous. Internally what mattered most, beside the budgetary constraints, was finding a way for our staff to live together. Lawyers are solitary by default and nothing would be easier than to just close the door and concentrate on the case at hand. Which elements contributed to reaching these goals? MB: The staircase it is a true feat. It invites us to step out and meet our colleagues. The kitchen, the library and the small sitting rooms also stimulate the internal communication. Several constraints inherently posed by the building were successfully overcome... Sylvie Grubb: We installed a category 4 fireproof carpet, glass windows and glass fireproof cabinet doors MB: We really wanted a corridor without doors and we were able to realise that in a location that wasn t suited for that! One of your main concerns was sound-proofing. Why? MB: To help our staff concentrate but also because it advances confidentiality. How would you describe the atmosphere at the office today? MB: Even though we sometimes deal with serious problems and cases, we always benefit from the light, clear, positive and stimulating atmosphere Has Global adjusted certain aspects of the project as it was originally outlined by LSM Architects and Associates? MB: They did. The wood, the furniture, the width of the corridors, etc. Global really pays attention to the smallest details. What if you had to do it again? SG: Straightaway. Everyone keeps telling us this is the most beautiful Wilmer office in the world!

Their assignment concerned one rather difficult location the Bastion Tower and two requirements. On the one hand they were asked to expand the existing site plan. On the other, they were asked to design a work space centring around communication, serenity and comfort. Het internationale advocatenkantoor Wilmer Hale was op zoek naar een Belgische partner om zijn nieuwe bureaus in te richten. Daarom deden ze een beroep op Global. Hun opdracht bestond uit één moeilijke locatie de Bastion Tower en twee vereisten. Enerzijds moest het bestaande plan worden uitgebouwd. Anderzijds moest de werkplek in het teken staan van communicatie, sereniteit en comfort. À la recherche d un partenaire belge pour aménager ses nouveaux bureaux, le cabinet d avocats international Wilmer Hale fait appel à Global. Au programme: un lieu exigeant - la Bastion Tower -, la déclinaison d une charte architecturale existante et une volonté: faire du lieu de travail un outil de communication, sérénité et confort.

11 Boosting BOOSTING INNOVATIVE PROJECTSDexia innovative projects Donner corps à un nouveau concept alliant les services d une agence bancaire et la mise à disposition de facilités destinées aux entrepreneurs: voilà le défi lancé par Dexia à Global. Situé dans un zoning industriel, le Business Center intègre, en plus d une agence, une salle polyvalente, des salles de réunion et des équipements périphériques. Entre modularité des espaces et création d un environnement sobre et feutré, Global a répondu aux attentes et contribué à l évolution commerciale de tout un secteur. Dexia had een interessante uitdaging in petto voor Global: gestalte geven aan een nieuw concept dat de diensten van een bankkantoor combineert met faciliteiten voor ondernemers. Het Business Center, dat in een industriezone ligt, omvat naast een agentschap ook een polyvalente zaal, vergaderruimtes en randdiensten. Door te zorgen voor moduleerbare ruimtes en een sobere, gedempte omgeving te creëren, loste Global de verwachtingen ruimschoots in. Bovendien droeg het bureau met de realisatie van het centrum bij aan de commerciële evolutie van een hele sector. 14 Dexia presented Global with quite a challenge: to give shape to a new concept combining the services provided by a local branch with the supply of facilities specifically targeting entrepreneurs. This Business Centre, situated in an industrial zone, besides a local bank branch comprises meeting rooms, a polyvalent room and peripheral equipment. By associating modular spaces with the creation of a frugal and coherent environment Global has met and even surpassed every expectation. The agency has also contributed to the commercial evolution of an entire sector. 12 Jones IN BROAD "DAY"- LIGHT Jones Day In broad Day - light En partance pour de nouvelles installations dans un immeuble classique, le bureau d avocats Jones Day souhaitait composer l équilibre entre prestige et agrément de travail. Modularité des salles de réunion, transparence des bureaux, intégration d une domotique performante, conception de bibliothèques En trois mois de temps, Global réalise un aménagement inspiré, intégrant au passage des modifications structurelles de dernière minute. Het advocatenkantoor Jones Day stond op het punt te verhuizen naar een klassiek gebouw. Ze zochten bij de inrichting van de nieuwe locatie echter een evenwicht tussen prestige en een aangename werkomgeving. Moduleerbare vergaderruimtes, toegankelijke bureaus, een efficiënt ingebouwd domoticasysteem, opzet van bibliotheken... Op drie maanden tijd kwam Global op de proppen met een geïnspireerde inrichting en bracht op het laatste moment zelfs nog een aantal structurele wijzigingen aan. 16 As they were preparing to refurbish classic premises, Jones Day law firm wanted to find a balance between prestige and a pleasant working environment. Partant du concept élaboré par Veldhoen - bureau d études néerlandais proposant des méthodes de travail innovantes -, Global s est chargé de la mise en musique du chantier, dans un temps record et pour un résultat budgétaire performant. Elektriciteitsleverancier SPE wilde zijn werkmethodes moderniseren om een optimale flexibiliteit van zijn installaties te garanderen. Ook wilde het bedrijf zijn imago op de arbeidsmarkt verbeteren. Op basis van een concept ontwikkeld door Veldhoen een Nederlands studiebureau dat vernieuwende werkmethodes voorstelt heeft Global de uitwerking ervan op de werf op zich genomen. Ze klaarden de klus in een recordtijd en met een budgettair resultaat om trots op te zijn. 19 SPE SPE, a Belgian energy supplier, wished to revolutionise its work methods in order to guarantee an optimal flexibility of its installations. The company also wanted to reposition their image on the labour market. Based on the concept developed by Veldhoen a Dutch study agency offering innovative work methods Global orchestrated the activities on site, in a record time and achieving an impressive budgetary result.

14 SOLVING PROBLEMS AND LOOKING AHEAD McKinsey Solving problems and looking ahead& COMPANY EUROPE Alors que McKinsey souhaitait quitter ses locaux, Global parvient à réaliser les adaptations nécessaires avec l accord du propriétaire de la Tour ITT. Parallèlement, Freehand Projects (société anglaise de Design Management) redéfinit totalement les méthodes de travail du bureau de consultants. Home bases, monk cells, team rooms Global passe du concept à la réalité, s appuyant sur des solutions techniques complexes et soulageant au passage Freehand Project: "so fast in England, never!". McKinsey stond op het punt zijn kantoren te verlaten, op het moment dat Global er in slaagt met de eigenaar van de ITT Tower een akkoord te sluiten over de vereiste aanpassingen. Tegelijkertijd gooit Freehand Projects (een Engels kantoor van Design Management) de traditionele werkmethoden van de adviesbureau volledig om. Home bases, monk cells, team rooms Global zet het concept om in realiteit en concentreert zich op complexe technische oplossingen. Ze maken trouwens indruk op Freehand Projects: so fast in England, never!. McKinsey was on the verge of moving out of their offices when Global succeeds in making the needed changes, with the agreement of the ITT Tower s owner. Simultaneously, Freehand Projects (English studio specialized in Design Management) completely innovates the work methods of de consulting firm: Home bases, monk cells, team rooms Global puts this concept into practice, focusing on intricate technical solutions, impressing Freehand Projects along the way: so fast in England, never! 20

17 Hthe otel Maison meublée qui possède des installations d un certain confort, et assure aux voyageurs, moyennant rétribution, le logement, le service et parfois la nourriture. En 1100, l hôtel était le lieu où l on trouvait accueil, principalement pour les gens de guerre. Loin des conflits armés, "tenir ostel" désigne rapidement l action de mener un certain train de vie. Les voyages et donc l hébergement d étape s intensifient alors que l auberge fait son apparition au XIIIème siècle. Tour à tour hôtel de ville, hôtel borgne, palace, hôpital, motel ou hôtel de passe, l hôtel est aujourd hui le bâtiment destiné à recevoir des hôtes. In 1100 was een hotel een plaats waar voornamelijk krijgslieden onderdak vonden. Ver van de oorlogen vandaan betekende op hotel gaan algauw het erop nahouden van een bepaalde levensstijl. Meer transportmogelijkheden betekende meer reizen, waardoor het aantal overnachtingen onderweg toenam. Overnachten in een herberg, hoeve, jeugdherberg of hotel is niet hetzelfde. Tegenwoordig moeten hotels aan bepaalde wettelijke regels voldoen om zich hotel te mogen noemen. A furnished house fitted with a certain degree of comfort, providing travellers with lodging, food and extra services in exchange for payment. In 1100 a hotel was a place where one was treated as a guest, especially for warriors. Outside the war zones, to take lodging quickly signified keeping up with a certain lifestyle. More possibilities to travel meant more travelling and hence also increased lodging along the way. Today, staying in an inn, a youth hostel, a hostel or a hotel is not the same. Hotels need to match certain restrictive criteria, regarding security, hygiene and size. 26

Design Partners houdt zich bezig met de studie en inrichting van zakelijke en vrijetijdshotels. Het bureau is uitgegroeid tot een van de partners die, in het kader van hun ontwikkeling in de hotelsector, een sleutelrol spelen in de activiteit van Global. Design Partners werd opgericht in 1983 en kan, onder meer dankzij 15 jaar trouwe dienst voor de Accor-groep, bogen op een stevige en ruime ervaring. Het bureau ontwerpt duurzame inrichtingen op maat van specifieke klanten zonder daarbij ooit hun succesformule uit het oog te verliezen: imago, budget, deadline. Design Partners studies the interior design of business and recreational hotels. As such it has become Global s key partners in the margin of its development in the hotel sector. Design Partners was established in 1983 and has extensive experience, for a great deal based on over 15 years of work in service of the Accor group. The aim: to establish an active long term partnership that guarantees an infallible coherence, from the first sketch to the timely delivery of the end result on site.

19 ACCOR HUGO MERTENS TECHNICAL DIRECTOR OF THE ACCOR GROUP Vous avez commencé à collaborer avec Global dans le cadre du chantier de Castel de Pont-à-Lesse. Quel était alors le cahier des charges? Hugo Mertens: C était bien simple: on prenait le site, on le retournait et tout ce qui tombait était à remplacer! Ce chantier était pour vous la première expérience du tandem Global/Design Partners. Quel souvenir en gardez-vous? HM: Je pense que tous deux parlaient la même langue et cela se ressentait. Cette expérience nous conforte dans l idée de travailler sur le long terme avec eux. De manière générale, quelles sont les principales qualités à présenter pour collaborer avec le groupe Accor? HM: Il faut être proactif, réactif et comprendre la réalité de notre secteur d activités pour pouvoir répondre au mieux à nos impératifs. Les rendements d échelle et les automatismes font certainement partie de vos exigences HM: Effectivement. Savoir si on commence par poser le carrelage avant le mobilier dans la salle de bain, c est une base réellement exploitable! Quid des budgets et des délais? HM: Fermer un hôtel pour rénovation arrive deux fois par siècle à l échelle du groupe. Chaque jour qui passe est un jour où des chambres qui devraient être louées sont à l arrêt. Le secteur de l hôtellerie présente cette particularité. Comment voyez-vous l avenir de votre secteur? HM: L hôtellerie évolue très vite et il faut sans cesse se repositionner. Le tourisme asiatique est en nette augmentation et, avec l amélioration de leur pouvoir d achat, de plus en plus de Chinois fréquentent nos hôtels. Un de nos grands défis sera d adapter nos structures pour ce type de public. Par ailleurs, nous sommes très dépendants de l évolution de l aviation civile et donc du prix du pétrole. L hôtellerie est appelée à rester un service apprécié du public mais la mobilité décidera de l avenir du secteur.. 30 De aanleiding voor uw eerste samenwerking met Global was de werf van Castel de Pont-à-Lesse. Wat stond er eigenlijk in het lastenboek? Hugo Mertens: Het was heel simpel: we namen de werf in handen, hielden hem op zijn kop en alles wat naar beneden kwam vallen, moesten we vervangen! Deze werf was uw eerste ervaring met de tandem Global/Design Partners. Welke herinnering hebt u hieraan overgehouden? HM: Ik denk dat ze allebei dezelfde taal spraken en dat kon je goed merken. Deze ervaring heeft ons gerust gesteld: met hen willen we ook op lange termijn samenwerken. Wat zijn, in het algemeen, de belangrijkste kwaliteiten en eigenschappen die je moet kunnen voorleggen om te kunnen samenwerken met de Accor-groep? HM: Je moet vooruit denken, snel reageren en de werkelijkheid van onze sector goed begrijpen. Alleen zo kunnen we zo goed mogelijk onze doelstellingen bereiken. Schaalrendement en automatismen maken ongetwijfeld deel uit van uw eisenpakket HM: Inderdaad. Weten dat je in de badkamer eerst de vloertegels legt en dan pas het meubilair instal- leert, is een nogal logische minimumvereiste. Wat met de budgetten en de deadlines? HM: Een hotel sluiten voor renovatie komt in het geval van onze groep misschien twee keer per eeuw voor. Elke dag die voorbij gaat, is een dag waarop kamers die verhuurd zouden moeten zijn, niet renderen. Dit is iets typisch voor de hotelsector. Hoe stelt u zich de toekomst van uw sector voor? HM: De hotelsector evolueert erg snel en je moet steeds je positionering aanpassen. Het Aziatische toerisme neemt sterk toe en, gezien hun verbeterde koopkracht, krijgen onze hotels steeds meer Chinezen over de vloer. Een van onze grote uitdagingen voor de toekomst zal zijn om onze structuren aan te passen aan dit soort publiek. We zijn trouwens heel afhankelijk van de evolutie van de burgerluchtvaart en de olieprijs. De hotelsector zal altijd een dienst verlenen die populair is bij het grote publiek, maar de mobiliteit zal uiteindelijk beslissen over onze toekomst. You first started working with Global in the scope of the Castel de Pont-à-Lesse project. What were the services you required? Hugo Mertens: It was actually very simple: we took the project, turned it upside down and everything that came tumbling down had to be replaced! This project was your first experience working with the duo Global/ Design Partners. How do you look back on it? HM: I think they both spoke the same language; it was quite obvious. This experience has put us at ease with the idea of working with them on a long-term basis. Generally speaking, what are the main qualities one has to be able to present in order to work with the Accor group? HM: You have to be proactive, responsive, and you should understand the reality of our line of work so as to be able to optimally respond to our needs and motivations. A certain scale of return and automated processes no doubt are a part of your requirements HM: Indeed they are. Knowing that in a bathroom you begin by putting in the plumbing before installing the furniture is a very useful base to start from! And when it comes to budgets and deadlines? HM: Completely closing down a hotel for renovation happens maybe once or twice per century. Every day that goes by, rooms that should be rented are empty, generating no revenue. It is a particularity of the hotel sector. How do you envisage the future of your business? HM: The hotel sector evolves very quickly and it is imperative that you reposition yourself constantly. Asian tourism is on the rise and, due to their increased purchasing power, more and more Chinese guests visit our hotels. One of the great challenges we face will be to adapt our current structures to meet the expectations of this type of audience. Moreover we are very dependent on the evolution of civil aviation and hence the oil price. The public will always appreciate the hotel business but the future of our sector is determined by their mobility.

Johan De Turck: Nous venions de nous séparer de notre décorateur. Nous sommes entrés en contact avec Design Partners qui nous a alors présenté Global. Ils m ont rapidement inspiré confiance. Qu ont-ils apporté au projet initial? JDT: Familles, hommes d affaires, groupes de touristes étrangers... Le public était large et l apport de Design Partners s est avéré gagnant, avec pour toile de fond un aménagement comme à la maison. Le caractère du lieu induisait-il des contraintes particulières? JDT: Effectivement. D abord, parce que nous avons des mètres carrés inutiles. Ensuite, parce que nous ne pouvions pas ouvrir les bâtiments comme nous le souhaitions. Et je voulais à tout prix préserver les éléments d époque. C est un hôtel très atypique de par son style, son environnement et sa situation. Respecter les délais de livraison était absolument impératif. Pourquoi? JDT: Car nous avions promis de réengager notre personnel à une date précise. Ensuite, parce qu il fallait commercialiser l hôtel, notamment aux groupes "affaires". Et donc s assurer que nous serions prêts. Comment interagissait Global sur ces bases? JDT: La relation est toujours restée très correcte, alors que la pression était parfois importante. En termes de retour sur investissements, quelles sont les perspectives? JDT: Nous avons atteint nos objectifs pour les groupes affaires. Et nous atteignons déjà les limites du site en logement. C est un peu le phénomène Tupperware: tous ceux qui l ont vu l ont adopté! Le public touristique est par contre plus complexe à redémarrer. Le touriste belge part de plus en plus à l étranger. Le billet d avion est devenu trop bon marché. Et si c était à refaire? JDT: Nous avons bénéficié d une grande disponibilité et réactivité de la part de Global. C était indispensable pour coller aux délais de livraison alors que les corps de métier se bousculaient sur le chantier. Sans cela, nous n y serions jamais arrivés. 32 In welke omstandigheden hebt u een beroep gedaan op Design Partners en Global? Johan De Turck: We hadden net gebroken met onze decorateur. We hebben een contract afgesloten met Design Part-ners, die ons op hun beurt Global hebben voorgesteld. Zij hebben heel snel mijn vertrouwen gewonnen. Wat hebben zij bijgedragen aan het oorspronkelijke project? JDT: Families, zakenlui, groepen buitenlandse toeristen... Ons publiek was groot en divers, maar de bijdrage en aanpak van Design Partners, gebaseerd op een huiselijke inrichting, zijn een succes gebleken. Legde het specifieke karakter van de locatie bijzondere beperkingen op? JDT: Toch wel. Eerst en vooral omdat we een aantal nutteloze vierkante meters hebben. Daarna omdat we de gebouwen niet konden openbreken zoals we dat zelf wilden. En ik wilde natuurlijk koste wat kost de stijlelementen van vroeger bewaren. Dit is een erg opvallend hotel, dankzij zijn stijl, de omgeving en de ligging. Het was absoluut noodzakelijk om de opleveringstermijnen te respecteren. Waarom? JDT: Omdat we beloofd hadden om ons personeel op een specifieke dag weer in dienst te nemen. Bovendien moesten we het hotel promoten, vooral bij zakelijke klantengroepen. We moesten er dus voor zorgen dat we klaar waren. Hoe was de relatie met Global, gezien die voorwaarden? JDT: De verstandhouding is altijd correct gebleven ook al stonden we soms onder aanzienlijke druk. Wat zijn de vooruitzichten voor wat uw return on investment betreft? JDT: Voor onze zakelijke klanten hebben we onze doelstellingen gehaald. We zitten zelfs bijna aan onze grenzen voor de overnachtingen. Het is een beetje zoals Tupperware: al wie het heeft gezien, gaat het ook gebruiken! Het toeristische publiek zit complexer in elkaar en heeft wat meer tijd nodig om weer aan te trekken. Belgische toeristen trekken ook steeds meer naar het buitenland. Een vliegtuigticket is gewoon te goedkoop geworden. En als u het opnieuw zou moeten doen? JDT: Global is steeds heel bereikbaar geweest en heeft goed gereageerd op de situatie. Om de deadlines te halen was dat een absolute must, zeker met al die werklui die door elkaar krioelden op de werf. Zonder hen was het ons nooit gelukt. Which circumstances prompted you to make an appeal to Design Partners and Global? Johan De Turck: We had just dismissed our interior decorator. We then signed a contract with Design Partners who in turn introduced us to Global. They quickly inspired confidence. What did they add to the initial project? JDT: Families, business people, groups of foreign tourists... Our audience was large and Design Partners added what turned out to be the winning ingredient: they decided to refurbish the place based on an approach to make them feel at home. Did the nature of the location pose any particular constraints? JDT: Yes, it did. Firstly, because we have quite a few useless square metres. Secondly, because were not able to open up the buildings as we would have liked. Moreover I wanted to preserve the characteristic elements at all cost. This hotel stands out thanks to its style, its location, and its surroundings. It was absolutely imperative that the deadlines for completion be respected. Why? JDT: First of all because we had promised to re-engage our staff at a specific date. And also because we had to advertise the hotel, especially with business groups. So we had to make sure that we were ready. How did Global intervene, based on those elements? JDT: Our relationship always remained very correct, even under sometimes considerable pressure. What are your prospects in terms of the return on investment? JDT: As for our business clientele we have reached our goals; in fact where lodging is concerned we are already at our location s limits. It is a bit like the Tupperware effect: everyone who has seen it has started using it! The tourist audience has been a bit slower to take off again. The Belgian tourist more and more chooses to travel abroad. A plane ticket has just become too cheap.. And if you had to do it again? JDT: Global was always available and responded to our every need; two elements that we benefited from immensely. It was indispensable to stick to the deadlines while the teams of skilled workers were out on the yard. If they hadn t been so alert, we would never have succeeded
