Sustainability was one of the main objectives during the construction of the original building. The same care applies to the recent renovations. Efficient climate ceilings and heat recycling provide a CO 2 saving of more than 2,500 tons per year. The energy reduction is 30 percent, thanks to energy-efficient lighting that turns off automatically, intelligent elevator control and water-efficient plumbing. Together, these measures ensure a highly efficient use of resources. Moreover, Delftse Poort now uses a thermal storage system (hot and cold storage) that dissipates residual heat and stores it for subsequent temperature control. Thus, the complex is completely self-sufficient in its cooling and heating. Delftse Poort is also connected to the green district heating and thereby benefits from its use of biomass and waste heat. The perfect location further contributes to the sustainability of Delftse Poort. The ideal accessibility by public transport and the location directly next to the Central Station naturally discourages car use. Delftse Poort voldoet aan alle eisen en normen van een maatschappij die geen onnodige verspilling accepteert. Efficiënte klimaatplafonds en warmterecycling zorgen voor een CO 2 -besparing van meer dan ton per jaar. De energiereductie bedraagt 30 procent, dankzij energiezuinige verlichting die automatisch uitschakelt, intelligente liftbesturing en waterzuinig sanitair. Samen garanderen deze maatregelen een zeer efficiënte omgang met natuurlijke bronnen. Bovendien wordt er in Delftse Poort een WKO-installatie (Warmte Koude Opslag) gerealiseerd, die de restwarmte afvoert en opslaat voor latere temperatuurbeheersing. Daarmee wordt het complex volledig zelfvoorzienend in zijn koeling en verwarming. Delftse Poort is daarnaast aangesloten op de stadsverwarming en benut daardoor de groene voordelen van biomassa en restwarmte. De perfecte ligging draagt verder bij aan de duurzaamheid van Delftse Poort. De ideale bereikbaarheid per openbaar vervoer en de directe ligging naast het Centraal Station ontmoedigen vanzelf het autogebruik.
