De klinische beoordeling van randverkleuring is dermate moeilijk dat men zich moet afvragen of randverkleuring een betrouwbaar kwaliteitscriterium is voor restauraties (dit proefschrift hoofdstuk 7). 2. Door materiaalkeuze in klinisch onderzoek af te laten hangen van de scoorbaarheid van de randaansluiting loopt men het gevaar een goed materiaal uit te sluiten (dit proefschrift hoofdstuk 3). 3. Verschillende vullingen binnen één mond zijn zowel logisch als statistisch onderling afhankelijke eenheden en dienen als zodanig behandeld te worden (dit proefschrift hoofdstuk 4). 4. Vanuit het perspectief van kostenbeheersing is het beter een Klasse II amalgaamvulling te re-restaureren met amalgaam dan met composiet (dit proefschrift hoofdstuk 7). 5. Het belang van klinisch materiaalonderzoek in de restauratieve tandheelkunde: the proof of the restoration is in the eating. 6. Statistiekonderwijs binnen de studies geneeskunde en tandheelkunde is een belangrijk marketing instrument voor statistische consultatie. 7. De geringe waardering van sommige onderzoekers voor de bijdrage die een methodoloog-statisticus kan leveren aan hun onderzoek, heeft meer te maken met een gebrek aan probleembewustheid dan met de methodologische en statistische kennis van de betreffende onderzoekers. 8. De mate waarin een tandarts streeft naar een goede mondhygiëne bij patiënten is recht evenredig met de kwaliteit van al zijn of haar tandheelkundige werkzaamheden. 9. Het reiscomfort per trein zou aanzienlijk worden verhoogd door aparte coupés voor walkman-gebruikers. 10. Na 200 jaar is elk gebouw mooi.
