1 EURONEXT DERIVATIVES MARKETS AMSTERDAM NOTICE No. 12/04 ISSUE DATE: 28 February 2012 EFFECTIVE DATE: 8 March 2012 ADJUSTMENT FOR PREMIUM BASED TICK SIZE THRESHOLD TO 5 EUROS FOR THE MOST LIQUID INDIVIDUAL EQUITY OPTIONS Executive Summary The premium threshold used for Premium Based Tick Size will be raised from 0.50 to 5.00 as from 8 March 2012, for the 25 option classes of which the underlying shares make up the AEX index. 1. NYSE Liffe has already introduced Premium Based Tick Size (PBTS) for Amsterdam Individual Equity Option classes (see Amsterdam Notice 09/002). When PBTS is employed, the premium of an order at order entry determines the tick size: If the premium of an order at order entry is below or equal to the premium threshold, the tick size is 0.01 If the premium of an order at order entry is above the premium threshold, the tick size is From 8 March 2012 this premium threshold will be changed from 0.50 to 5.00 for the 25 option classes of which the underlying shares make up the AEX index. 3. The 25 option classes to which the new PBTS premium threshold of 5.00 applies are specified in attachment I of this Notice. 4. The premium threshold of the other option classes remains at 0.50, as described in Amsterdam Notice 10/007, issued on 9 March Together with the increase of the PBTS premium threshold to 5.00, the minimum size obligation that a Liquidity Provider has to quote will be decreased to 10. In the current situation when a size obligation of less than 10 contracts is applicable, the size obligation will not be adjusted and the size obligation of less than 10 contracts will remain. 6. The new minimum size obligation of 10 contracts for Liquidity Providers will apply to all option classes on individual shares on the Amsterdam derivatives markets. For the avoidance of doubt, this includes classes of which the underlying shares do not belong to the AEX index. 2 7. The mass quote capacity for Liquidity Providers will also be adjusted for 13 out of the 25 option classes. The PMMs in these 13 option classes may request an additional MMO key for order entry. The batch size for CMMs in these 13 option classes will be increased from 7 to The 13 option classes for which the mass quote capacity will be adjusted are described in Attachment II of this Notice. 9. The form to request additional MMO keys can be downloaded via the Amsterdam heading. 3 EURONEXT DERIVATIVES MARKETS AMSTERDAM NOTICE No. 12/04 DATUM VAN UITGIFTE: 28 februari 2012 DATUM VAN INWERKINGTREDING: 8 maart 2012 AANPASSING PREMIUM BASED TICK SIZE GRENS NAAR 5 EURO VOOR DE MEEST LIQUIDE INDIVIDUELE AANDELENOPTIES Samenvatting De premiegrens die gebruikt wordt in Premium Based Tick Size wordt met ingang van 8 maart 2012 verhoogd van 0,50 naar 5,00 voor de 25 optiefondsen waarvan het onderliggende aandeel behoort tot de AEX-index. 1. NYSE Liffe heeft al Premium Based Tick Size (PBTS) geïntroduceerd voor op Amsterdam genoteerde aandelenopties (zie Amsterdam Notice 09/002). De premie van een order bij het insturen van de order bepaalt de tick size: Wanneer de premie van een order bij het insturen van de order kleiner of gelijk is aan de premiegrens, dan is de tick size 0,01. Wanneer de premie van een order bij het insturen van de order groter is dan de premiegrens, dan is de tick size 0, Met ingang van 8 maart 2012 wordt de premiegrens verhoogd van 0,50 naar 5,00 voor de 25 optiefondsen waarvan de onderliggende aandelen samen de AEX-index vormen. 3. De 25 optiefondsen waarvoor de nieuwe PBTS premiegrens van 5,00 geldt, staan vermeld in bijlage I van deze Notice. 4. De premiegrens voor de overige optiefondsen blijft gehandhaafd op 0,50 zoals vermeld in Amsterdam Notice 10/007, uitgegeven op 9 maart Gelijktijdig met het verhogen van de PBTS premiegrens naar 5,00 wordt de minimum size obligation, waarvoor de Liquidity Providers moeten stellen verlaagd naar 10. Als in de huidige situatie een size obligation van minder dan 10 contracten van toepassing is dan zal de size obligation niet worden aangepast en zal de size obligation van minder dan 10 contracten gehandhaafd blijven. 6. De nieuwe minimale stelplicht van 10 contracten voor Liquidity Providers zal gelden voor alle optiefondsen op individuele aandelen op de Amsterdamse derivatenmarkt. Ter verduidelijking, de minimale stelplicht van 10 contracten geldt dus ook voor de optiefondsen waarvan het onderliggende aandeel niet behoort tot de AEX-index fondsen. 7. Door de invoering van de nieuwe premiegrens zal in 13 van de 25 genoemde optiefondsen de massquote capacity voor de Liquidity Providers worden aangepast. De PMMs in deze 13

4 optiefondsen kunnen een additionele MMO key aanvragen. De batch size voor de CMMs in deze 13 optiefondsen wordt vergroot van 7 naar De 13 optiefondsen waarvoor de massquote capacity wordt aangepast staan vermeld in bijlage II van deze Notice. 9. PBTS is not applicable to Weekly options on individual shares. For those option classes a tick size of 0.01 is applicable to all premiums (see Amsterdam Notice 12/02).
