3 Voorwoord Geachte collegae, Met veel genoegen verwelkom ik u op de Najaarsvergadering van de NOV. Deze vindt plaats in het NH Congrescentrum te Noordwijkerhout. Ik verzoek u van deze afwijkende locatie goede nota te nemen. Het programma vangt aan op donderdag 6 oktober al om uur. Op uw verzoek is het programma zodanig uitgebreid dat er ook een substantieel aantal accreditatiepunten toegekend kunnen worden (8 uren). Donderdag zal in het teken staan van het wetenschappelijk werk die u via abstracts kon aanmelden. Ook vindt op deze eerste dag de ALV van onze vereniging plaats. In het bijzonder vraag ik uw aandacht voor het Strategisch Plan van de NOV, de nieuwe Complicatieregistratie Orthopedie en onze nieuwe Gedragsregels Orthopedie en Industrie. Op vrijdagochtend starten wij met twee parallelsessie die respectievelijk door de werkgroep Biotechnologie en de werkgroep Knie werden voorbereid. Een traditie waarbij onze werkgroepen zich van hun beste kant laten zien. Aansluitend hierop vindt een primeur plaats; het eerste Anna Fonds NOREF Symposium. Hier laat het Anna Fonds NOREF zien wat bereikt kan worden met de financiële bijdragen door donateurs, sponsors en andere geldgevers. Het vrijdagmiddagprogramma wordt u in samenwerking met de Nederlandse Vereniging voor Arthroscopie (NVA) aangeboden: De NVA Masterclass Arthroscopic treatment of the stiff joint. Ook voor deze sessie zijn accreditatiepunten toegekend en wel 3 punten. 14 Anna Fonds NOREF Orthopedie kan niet zonder research. Daarom subsidieert Stichting Anna Fonds NOREF (Nederlands Orthopedisch Research en Educatie Fonds) sinds 1990 (jonge) onderzoekers bij hun research naar afwijkingen en ziekten van het steun- en bewegingsstelsel. Dit is in de geest van Anna Groll, in 1929 medegrondlegster van de toenmalige Anna Kliniek voor Orthopaedie in Leiden. De voorkeur gaat uit naar orthopedische ziektegebieden als artrose, osteoporose, traumatologie, overbelasting en aangeboren afwijkingen; zowel klinische als basaal wetenschappelijke aspecten. Voor onderzoek in ontwikkelingslanden gelden speciale voorwaarden. Een onafhankelijke Wetenschappelijke Raad van Advies van het Anna Fonds NOREF beoordeelt de aanvragen en adviseert het bestuur bij de subsidietoekenning. Het Anna Fonds NOREF kan de subsidies verlenen mede dankzij donaties van orthopedische bedrijven. Het Anna Fonds NOREF wordt op dit moment gesteund door Biomet (Platinum donateur), Zimmer (Platinum donateur), DePuy (Gouden donateur), Pro-Motion Medical BV en Heraeus Kulzer Benelux. Sinds haar oprichting in 1989 heeft het fonds ruim 2 miljoen aan subsidies uitgekeerd aan vooral jonge onderzoekers ter ondersteuning van onderzoeksprojecten, buitenlandse stages en totstandkoming van proefschriften. Daarnaast wordt iedere twee jaar de prestigieuze Anna Prijs van ,- uitgereikt aan een veelbelovende onderzoeker. Het fonds werkt nauw samen met de Nederlandse Orthopaedische Vereniging. Anna Fonds NOREF onderzoek in de etalage In dit eerste symposium wordt selectief verantwoording afgelegd voor bestedingen van het Anna Fonds in de laatste 10 jaar aan een honderdtal projecten: Ruim 150 proefschriften en 50 studiereizen. Hieruit maakte de WAR een keuze om de richtingen te tonen van het onderzoek aan het steun- en bewegingsapparaat in Nederland. Aldus wil het Anna Fonds NOREF graag, in samenwerking met de innoverende industrie, de positie van orthopedisch Nederland in de onderzoekswereld versterken en aantrekkelijk maken voor talentvolle jonge onderzoekers. 14

15 Actief zijn én blijven Dankzij onderzoek naar nieuwe en verbeterde behandelingen zijn klachten aan spieren, pezen, botten en gewrichten steeds beter te voorkomen en te verhelpen. 16 NVA Masterclass Arthroscopic treatment of the stiff shoulder & elbow vrijdag 7 oktober 2011, uur Zaal Rotonde De Nederlandse Vereniging voor Arthroscopie (NVA) is een wetenschappelijke vereniging opgericht in Het doel van de NVA is het verbreiden en verbeteren van kennis en kundigheid op gebied van arthroscopische chirurgie. De NVA is een vereniging voor artsen die de arthroscopie een warm hart toedragen en telt momenteel ruim 475 leden. Het ledenbestand bestaat uit orthopedisch chirurgen, traumachirurgen, plastisch chirurgen en dierenartsen evenals arts-assistenten werkzaam in deze specialismen. Jaarlijks organiseert de NVA een wetenschappelijk congres, een Masterclass, 4 (inter)nationale fellowships en 3 arthroscopiecursussen. Uw abstracts kunnen worden ingestuurd tot uiterlijk 1 oktober Het thema van het Jaarcongres 2012 luidt: Innovatie en Organisatie in de Orthopedische Zorg. Fundamenteel onderzoek Op donderdagochtend 19 januari 2012 wordt in het bijzonder tijd ingeruimd voor Fundamenteel Onderzoek. Deze abstracts hoeven niet te passen in het congresthema Innovatie en Organisatie in de Orthopedische Zorg. Wel dienen zij hetzelfde format te hebben als abstracts voor vrije voordrachten. In een subtitel van het abstract dient te worden vermeld dat Fundamenteel Onderzoek betreft. Tips & Tricks Voor de Jaarvergadering kunnen tevens abstracts worden ingediend over Tips & Tricks die passen binnen het thema van de jaarvergadering.
